Your Colecovision 10 Best Games List
joeybastard replied to cimerians's topic in Classic Console Discussion
If you read the manual for Wargames it mentions using the roller for a 2 player game with one person controlling the cursor with the tracball and one picking the weapons/regions on the keypad. I just worked both myself Oh yeah and JagHammer is right - Miner 2049er on the CV is totally kick ass - It's my favorite version. -
The only fun I have when I go to the Rat Shack is making up a fake name and phone number. Damn. In Rat Shack, I've been M.R. Roxonrox, G. Pizano(both Flintstones references) , Roy Hinkley and Jonas Grumby (both Gilligan's Island). Oh well..

It figures. I just got one of the older designs and went out and bought a light. I purposely found one that would fold and cover the screen when not in use too. Looks like they cover all of that now.

Activision Anthology in development for 8 years?!?!?
joeybastard replied to Fretwobbler's topic in Atari 2600
When those Action Packs came out I snapped 'em right up. The emulation was really good, at least on my old 486 it was. I kept hoping for more Action Packs of other titles from Atari, Imagic, etc. Eventually I found StellaX so it all became moot. -
You could always put woodgrain contact paper or something on your consoles. I can just see a Gamecube with woodgrain on the sides  True but no paddles

How far can a expansion module go?
joeybastard replied to opcode's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Outside of saving the games in the ram, what else would this expansion do? Would you write games for the extra processor? If you have the capabilities to do this, can you make an Intellivison adapter? I would definetely lay down cash for that. -
I wish every system came with woodgrain and paddles.

If this is real you have some seriously cool and rare stuff there. I imagine Tempest would be the person to talk to.

Does anybody know where I can find an Atari 7800???
joeybastard replied to Air Dawg's topic in Atari 7800
Huh? What did the Transformers pic have to do with the 7800? -
RING KING!!!??? I LOVE RING KING!
-
I find a lot of the Blue Sky Rangers page to be self serving and kind of inaccurate. I might be biased though since I think the Intellivison was only OK, nothing great. I especially hate the controllers. Oh and George Plimpton is a doucebag.

It's very dry near me. I buy most of my stuff at a place called GamesUSA because they stuff for all of the classic systems. The thrifts seem to only be good for Genesis, NES, and DC stuff.

I hated Goonies II (was there a Goonies 1? I've never seen it). In fact almost all of the LJN games suck real bad.

joeybastard replied to Fretwobbler's topic in Atari 2600
It probably refers to the Activision Action packs for PC that came out a few years ago. -
No real rotation, just what strikes the fancy at the moment. I do always come back to HERO and Pressure cooker though so I guess that's kind of a rotation.
-
I love Video Pinball even though it isn't exactly a scorcher in the gameplay department. Look around for Midnight Magic for a good VCS pinball.

NE146 - You're probably right on the emulated stuff, about it stopping after loading. But if you ever played a CDR version of an actual Sega title it spins like a madman. I've come across a few other discussions on the net about this and everybody seems to agree the CDRs make it work harder. I guess the best indicator is time itself, while we wait to see if more DCs die from prolonged CDR use. I burned and use DCStella and it does indeed kick ass. It still worries me that I'm killing my DC drive though.

How far can a expansion module go?
joeybastard replied to opcode's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Expansion modules should do just that - expand the system. I wouid welcome any expansion to by beloved CV - Intellivison capability, SuperGame Module, add everything to it and make it play Xbox games! Seriously though Coleco should have gone with the SuperGame expansion instead of Adam and that rumored RCA Selectavision hookup. I think if they had done that they would have been a huge powerhouse even today. -
The DC does emulate other stuff nicely but be forewarned. Using CDRs makes the GD-Rom drive work much hartder then it was designed to. Extendeed use will burn it out quicker.

Your Colecovision 10 Best Games List
joeybastard replied to cimerians's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The CV is in my top 3 favorite systems. I think I like just about every game (Even Cosmic Avenger although it's tough to like it) but here's my top ten in no particular order: HERO Jumpman JR Frontline Wargames (play 2 player using the roller controller and a stick keypad to pick the weapon - amazing!) Destructor Nova Blast Squish 'Em Sam Mr. Do Rocky Battles the Champ Venture Runners up: Pepper II, Temple of Asphsi(sp?), 2010, Slither, oh hell all of them! -
The DC is a super kick ass system. Definetely pick up: Space Channel 5 Jet Grind Radio House of the Dead 2 with a gun Soul Caliber Sword of the Berserker MDK2 I pick DC games used from all over ranging from .99 to $14.99, iut's hard to beat that for value.
