  1. I would be fine with it. It's the programmers work and he/she should decide how it's used and distributed. They don't "owe" anything to community. I do prefer to see the stuff in general release but it's not my call to make. I'm too dumb to program.
  2. As a TV graphics guy I can say with all certainty that is the truth!
  3. I wouldn't call them flimsy for the normal sized kid it was probably designed for. It's too flimsy for me at 167 lbs, so I would assume the same for you. You can sit down and use it too but that isn't as much fun.
  4. It's OK. I'm not a big fan of skiing games. It's definetely better on the joybaord then with just a stick.
  5. Did Mogul Maniac have the Joyboard with it? I have a Joyboard. It's the one thing in my collection that everybody says, "What the hell is that?"
  6. Funny, as I'm reading this forum there is a commercial on TV for a PC add on called x3D world that makes 3D games, movies, etc. Here's the website if anybody is interested: http://www.x3dworld.com
  7. Comparing Space Cavern to Cosmic Commuter! WHAT!?!?!? CC is a great game, way more engaging then SC. Well, at least to me.
  8. The misleading game variation numbers remind me of the old TV commercials for the digital watches that came free when you ordered Ginsu knives. They said it was a six function digital watch. The six functions were: 1. hours 2. minutes 3. seconds 4. month 5. day 6. year Really it's a 2 function watch: time & date
  9. I think the "intentionally crippled" rumor is crap. Wouldn't poor quality also reflect on them as a company and in turn make people wary of their other products? They want people to buy Coleco stuff it's how they make money. Let's face it. DK & DKjr are pretty complex games involving a lot of things on screen behaving in different patterns. Neither game is as simple as Space Invaders, which by the way, while it has excellent gameplay doesn't resemble the arcade graphics either. The "intentionally crippled" rumor reminds me of the other Coleco rumor that the CV startup screens were necessary for an emulator to start up that actually runs the games. Sure, those games running in an emulated environment on those old processors with that tiny amount of ram. Suuurre
  10. Thanks I'll ty that. I've been thinking about turning one of my old mice into a paddle anyway so maybe this is an excuse to do it.
  11. I know it's supposed to but on my PC if I move the mouse to try and control the speed it just jumps to the highest throttle and won't go back down. Maybe it's my mouse software?
  12. If you get the TG-16 CD add on, it has RCA outs for audio video so you don't need to make a new cable if you're as mechanically inept as me BTW, I LOVE my TG-16/CD and curse myself for not getting it back when it was new.
  13. It's the escape door in Tunnel Runner
  14. I never said everyone who likes the game is a hard up perv. I said buying the game just for half naked polygon renderings is pathetic. This will be the 3rd time I've said it, TRY THE GAME FIRST TO SEE IF THE GAMEPLAY IS GOOD. And I hope everybody on the boards is pulling in hot members of whatever sex they prefer.
  15. I'm not sure what you mean by the seller not being convinced? As far as auctions go, I always email the person and tell them how I'm going to pay, my address for shipping and thank them later on if all went well. On trades I tell them what I have, look at what they have and make a few suggestions for the trade. If we can't come to an agreement that all is fair, I thank them and wish them well. I'll find the item eleswhere if it seems like it's going to be a problem. A little courtesy and honesty seems to go a long way in all situations.
  16. I use the Stella emulator and I was wondering if any of you know the answer to this. On Stunt Cycle/Daredevil, I know you must use the paddles to accelerate but I have no paddle hookup for my PC. I assume like some other paddle games I can use the mouse but that doesn't seem to work right either. The cycle is always going top speed so I just crash every time. Anybody know how to control the speed when using the Stella emulator?
  17. Yeah cropping or shrinking mine would totally ruin it. This is the only board I belong to though so It hasn't been a problem yet.
  18. 2600 DKjr is a bad bad translation but I wonder if it was an original game without the arcade to compare it to, would we all be so harsh? The controls would still stink, but the game is interesting.
  19. Very Cool! I'm honored to be mentioned in your title. That doorway in your avatar was always a welcome site on screen
  20. AtariX- You don't really believe these games have disproportioned super human half naked females to appeal to art lovers do you? You're kidding right? In my post I mentioned the real porn, and getting out more. This is meant to encourage the members of the community that real life still beats the snot out of video games. I love games but locking yourself in a room to get horny over a video game is not as rewarding or healthy as going out and meeting real women. There is no argument you can make to refute that. I also mentioned in my post to play the game first to check out the gameplay not just buy it for polygon tittie screens. We've all played games that looked great and played like crap. Art...
  21. That's a really cool way to teach these kids something about team work/coperation. It reminds me of my mom trying to get the owners of the nursing home she runs to buy a few GBAs because she discovered they seem to like Tetris and some of the puzzle games. The owners said no but some of the residents have asked their relatives to get them one. My mom, a crusader for video games and old people!
  22. As an avid CV collector I can say that the paragraph you included appears on EVERY Coleco game manual except obviously they changed the game name. Which is the bigger hype? Coleco's "Fun of Discovery" nonsense or Magnavox's constant exclamation points and ridiculously over exagerrated descriptions of the O2 games? -Joey "Sync-Sound Action!" Bastard
  23. I would just keep clean 'em again with alcohol. I had a Kaboom I had to clean 4 times with alcohol and use the eraser inbetween each one. Works fine now.
  24. I'm with you Stan. Space Cavern isn't too thrilling. Even with the variations. It plays like a hundred other mediocore shooters on the VCS.
  25. On both the VCS and the CV version, I'm stuck at Level 15. I think HERO is definetely my favorite game of all time. I would love to see a GBA version with new graphics ala Metroid Fusion. No 3D stuff, just 2D like the original.
