Underrated but kickass?

Here in Brazil it still possible to buy a new SMS, as it is still being made. One can find a lot of unusual games too, like Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat or Virtua Fighter.I can't believe the SMS could handle any of these games. They must be incredibly crippled versions.

I would bet that nobody promoting the contest has even thought about how to hook a VCS to that TV. Look how many newbie questions about this the AA forums get.
-
I agree with everything you said Jag. I think we're also going to see a 2600 homebrew that absolutely astounds the entire community with graphics, sound and gameplay. Look how great the current ones have been and it will get even better.
Looking further past 2003 I think the GC is the last console for Nintendo. Look at how small the GC is, in 2 years they'll be turning it into a handheld. They already control the handheld market and I think that will be the next step.

Yeah, if you enjoy having knee surgery. Why yes... yes I do.

That footpedal would be fun for Decathalon...
-
I love Decathalon because of the workout! My friends and I played it for hours. We always did skip the last long running event though. I never played it on the PS2 although I imagine the controls would be a problem.
-
Yeah I didn't think there was any backward compatibility there. Thanks
-
I'm sure the answer to this is no but I'll ask anyway. Can the Sega CD games be played on a Saturn or DC? How about Saturn on a DC?
-
Well Cartoon Network is in Georgia, so we know good TV comes from there.
-
Ahhh CPU time is the culprit! Thanks.

Thomas,
I know nothing about programming but I'm curious. Would making the other cars another color cause flicker? Why?
-
5200 not sexy?!?!?!? Look closer.
-
I'm with Adrian. I love the game but I would like to see some other colors for the cars.

I remember reading about the failed "Playstation" CD for the SNES in a book about Nintendo called "Game Over". I was wondering then if Nintendo had any rights to the name. If this is true, I'm glad. I much prefer the N to Sony.
-
I had to open up the whole unit to get it unstuck.
It sucked big time, especially dealing with the metalized decal across the front. Try wiggling it down left to right first though, that worked on one of my CVs. -
This from the CV faq:
Champ Adapter -A near exact duplicate of the Coleco Keypad, minus the upper half that
contains the joystick. Instead it has a 9-pin slot so you can plug
in your favorite joystick and still have use of the keypad. It also
can double as a joystick extension cable since the Champ Adapter cable
is 6' long.
It sounds like you found one
I wish I had one for my CV. -
Gunstar,
This is from the Video Game News console museum regarding the CD32:
"Then, shortly before Commodore's big U.S. launch, the U.S. government said that Commodore could not bring anything into this country because they had never paid the $10 million they owed for the XOR patent infringement lawsuit they had lost. "
So you are correct my use of tariff was the wrong word regarding Commodore bringing the CD32 to the US. As I said in my first reply my memory was vague. Old age you know

My niece and nephew are around that age and they really like Sly Cooper and the Thievious Racoonus, Ty the Tasmanian Tiger(I think that's the name) and Spyro. I think they are all rated E.
-
I stupidly made a separate thank you thread to Thomas before I noticed this one existed. So Thanks again Thomas, I really like the game.

-
I don't know, I always thought the 5200 was sexier looking then the VCS.
-
I saw that show last night. It annoys me when people say the graphics suck on the VCS. Yes some of the graphics suck. What I don't understand though is what people expected. When you play a boardgame, no one complains when their gamepiece doesn't look like them. I've never heard somebody say I won't play Monopoly because I don't look like a shoe or a car or a tophat. Games of all types have traditionally used symbols of the player on the board. I see no difference in videogames. Considering the limitations of the hardware at the time, I think many of the videographics are quite good.
It especially annoys me when dumbass vague celebrities(Who were most of those people? I recognized the Sugar Ray Guy and like 1 or 2 others.) make comments about my beloved Stella.

Wouldn't the bit count actually be tabulated by the amount of data width accessed? An 8 bit system access an 8 bit wide data path, 16 bit a 16 bit path, etc. The 68000 may have had 32 bit registers but if it was accessed in 16 bit chucnks I think the system would be considered 16 bit. I could be very very wrong about this, I'm no tech guru.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to Thomas Jentzsch for releasing the full Jammed as a downloadable rom. As soon as I get the dough I'll be ordering a cartridge. It's a great game and is a great addition to the Atari community.

Yeah I forgot Mountain King. I was the only one of my friends to have it when I was a kid but everybody got it after playing it at my house.
