I don't think it works from this line Why no further testing? Mine powers up too but it has never worked. I talked with a few O2 people about it and they had all come across these that power up, have good rf boxes, etc but just show a black screen.

I'm not a programmer but I think it's really uncool to post sites that have current system roms on them. It's basically taking the money from the pockets of current programmers. Some of those guys are AtariAge Members. Rom sites for a long dead system is one thing, but rom sites for current systems is theft. That can only drive the price of games up.

I used to have it when I was a kid and I know I bought it in a store without any kind of Pizza Hut promotion. I love this game, I think it's one of those less talked about gems of the VCS. Actually I like most of the Data Age games although I think most people don't.

I just have to say this about Colecovision
joeybastard replied to thedeadc's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Cool! The CV is my second all time favorite console. You should take a picture of the letters on the building and post it here. If I were you I would ask the beer guys if there is any leftover stuff from Coleco. Even if it's just some paperwork, signs or whatever it might be interesting to the gaming community. -
They are pretty big as far as tracballs go. It's real easy to catch the edge of your hand between the console and the ball - OUCH!
-
Oh I hate real football too. In fact I hate watching most professional sports, but I like playing video games versions of them. We had such a heated game going for a while I actually started to sweat from slapping the tracball. Granted I'm not in the best of shape but that game gets pretty physical when you're chasing the other guys long bomb pass. I live around the corner from the place I mentioned so I'm definetely going back!

I'm definetely ordering a HERO and a Bruce Lee shirt. Kick Ass!

I was at a place called the Baha in New Hyde Park, NY over the weekend and played Atari Football against my friend for about an hour. That tracball is the best thing for sports games ever. They had a bunch of Atari Coin Ops there also like Area 51, Centipede and some others. There is no football game more fun over beers in the bar the Atari Football.

Confederate Turd is a great name for band

This may be cheating but I'd say Sega Nomad or the TurboExpress because they played the same carts as their big brothers. The NGPC is a beautiful little system though. I like the GBA better but only because it can play any GB(*) games.
-
Well I haven't played the Xbox one but I used to LOVE the CV Rocky Battles the Champ. I would always play as Clubber
-
Does anybody know why there was no Robotron for the 2600? I wanted it really bad when I was a kid. I'm guessing too much stuff moving on screen for Stella but it's just a guess. Also was Atari's Space Duel ever ported to anything? I liked it much better then the original Asteroids.
-
I agree, like Nintendo did with Mario All stars on the SNES. I love those graphically enhanced versions.
-
I like the 64 contoller too, always found it very comfortable. The Jag controller was ok but I don't find it to be special in any way. What I really want is a better controller for my Dreamcast. I hate where the analog stick is on that thing.

I'm not sure about this "right way" stuff. Figuring out the different strategies for different platforms is part of the fun. I like Bump and Jump and Mr.Do on the VCS. The CV versions are better and more faithful to the arcade but so what? On the contrast of arcade vs. home, look at Choplifter. I think the arcarde one blows but the CV version is kick ass and came first. Same thing for that Sega Pitfall I downloaded for MAME a while ago. It was terrible. It's not that the startegies are slightly different like B&J/Mr.Do, the games are way different to the point they should probably have different names.

Well Sega CD was out before the Saturn and PS but wasn't the TurboCD for TG16 out before all of them? I never tried but I assume it plays audio cds too. I think Amiga had a cd system before all of them too, but nobody bought it.

Snider-Man's 12 DAYS OF ATARI- DAY 5! (((WINNER!!!!))

Second post toasties You know some of the comments about the prize would be really funny with some typos. -
I would like to see all of those you mentioned and: A 5200 anthology with as many game as possible be they Atari Activion, Parkers, etc. A Colecovison Collection, again with as many licenses as possible.
-
Witha name like Crssbow I thought you'd be the best at this game!

I think most of this article sounds like a pipe dream. I think the cost of the unit for such a machine would be prohibitive to most people. Remember the Neo Geo? Very powerful and too expensive for the average schmoe. I also think that this convergance idea of having one box do everything (DVD, CD, web access, TV recording, and on and on) doesn't fly. Most of the time a box that does many things only does them sub par. I'd rather have one box with one purpose that does that purpose well. I think I'll stick with Nintendo, they make a game machine for playing games.

Robin Hood is a pretty good game and the stairs are hard. Have you ever played the Colecovison one? It's much better.
