  1. Pressure Cooker is my second favorite 2600 game. HERO is first but PC is great. I'm always impressed by the amount of colors, movement, and sound Activision could squeeze out of Stella. Just look at the kickass conveyor belt the burgers come on. Really a beautiful game.
  2. Cool! I always considered the XEGS a game system but I can see your point in lumping it in with computers. Thanks!
  3. Lemmi is correct, CDR's will kill a DC faster then normal wear and tear from native discs. Gunstar, are you sure the modification isn't to blame? Maybe something with the mod went bad? Every one of my friends (and my own) DC has worked perfectly from day one. None of these are modified.
  4. The channel selector is on the back of most Ataris towards the bottom. It should be a little black switch that slides left/right for channels 3/4. Just because you get some signal doesn't mean the power adapter is good. It might not be putting out enough juice for the 2600 to work. If you have one of those universal adapters lying around here are the specs so you can try it. Input: 120VAC 60Hz Output: 9VDC 500mA Polarity: Center +, Outer -
  5. 1. Check the channel selector as the 5th ghost mentioned. 2. Wiggle the RF wire and check the connection to the RF switch. Otherwise I couldn't tell you anything else. Good Luck
  6. This probably a dumb question but why no XEGS coverage?
  7. Sounds like your adapter probably died from being left plugged in. Do you get power at all or is it that the screen won't display properly?
  8. This reminds me of a weird email thing that happened to me. There was a guy in a band from DC that had opened for Rat Bastard and had emailed me a few times. We kept in touch about shows, CDs we were releasing, etc. The last email I sent him was in October of 2000. I just got a reply to it last month. It was also dated October of 2000. I guess it bounced around cyberspace for 2 years.
  9. I like to listen to any fast old school punk while playing Atari. Ramones, Johnny Thunders, Pistols, Circle Jerks, etc. 70's music for 70's games. Of course Rat Bastard is the perfect music for video games or any occasion
  10. Beautiful collection! Seeing it makes me want to go digging thru my mothers attic. When I was a kid (and those games were new)my grandmother would get me 1 or 2 of them for Xmas and my birthday. At one point I probably had about half of what you have pictured. I know I never threw them out so they might be packed away. Guess I have some exploring to do....
  11. The Ataris -"San Dimas High School Football Rules"
  12. Chris, I agree with you. If the machine can't handle certain displays without slowdown those displays should be changed to match the hardware. That would probably mean less polygons, less texture and less lighting effects but that isn't what makes a game good. A good example of this on the retro angle would be H.E.R.O. on the 2600 vs. the 5200 version. Same gameplay different graphics because of the hardware. The people designing games with dropping framerates need to look back to the old days.
  13. The packaging is really just icing on the cake. Being able to play all of the games without changing carts is nice as is the abilty to use the PS controllers instead of the classic Atari for a slightly different experience. The fact that it is Atari related is probably enough reason for most people to buy it, the commercials, etc, are just fun.
  14. http://www.seanbaby.com/nes/dearnintendo.htm All of Seanbaby.com is great but this stuff kills me It does get fairly obscene sometimes though so I don't suggest reading to the kids instaed of a bedtime story.
  15. I'm shocked to see somebody has more weird CV controllers then me After I get my CV out of storage (not for a long while ) I'll post some oddball ones I have.
  16. The RF wire coming out of that unit is not a regular RCA plug. You can't just plug it into RCA jacks on your TV. You need to order one of these from Atariage http://www.atariage.com/store/Hardware.html scroll down to Coaxial (F-Type) to Female RCA Adapter
  17. It's your property, sell it if you want to and for whatever price you want. It's nice of you to check, but I don't see how you would be harming the community.
  18. I have to agree H.E.R.O. is a one of a kind classic. The 2600 gameplay is as good as the graphically superior CV and 5200 versions.
  19. well, let's see: Radio Shack Pong Atari 2600 (2) Atari 5200 Atari Jaguar Colecovision (3) + all expansions Magnavox O2 Sega Master System Sega Genesis (I & II & III) Sega CD Sega 32X Sega Dreamcast Nintendo Entertainment System Super Nintendo Nintendo 64 Nintendo Gameboy + GBA Nintendo Gamecube Commodore 64 (2) Turbografx 16 + TurboCD I think that's it, most of it is in storage at the moment while the wife and I prepare for a move. I've already picked the room for my collection when we move in.
  20. I have had transactions with both CosmicJoke and NoahsMyBro for Atari stuff. Both deals were flawless and quickly executed. Thanks again guys, and I highly recommend them to anyone. -Joey Bastard
  21. I'm pretty sure the Super action sticks could be used in any game. In War Games though, it really helps to see the overlays to pick area, weapon, etc from the keypad.
  22. This is really cool, lets hope there's a NES, SNES, N64 add on in the works. http://www.nintendo.com/news/news_articles...?articleID=7688
  23. I have to agree with hating Bridge. I don't understand anything about it. As for my least favorite, I'm not a big fan of Starmaster, Space Shuttle, or Checkers. However, since they made HERO and Kaboom I forgive any and all digressions from them.
  24. I have both games for my DC and they do indeed kick butt. F355 control is weird but I adjusted thru my Madcatz wheel and now it's pretty good. I still stink something fierce at it though.
