  1. I got the 64 when it first came out and have never regretted it. It still gets played a lot (a little less as the rest of my collection grows) and I think its quality is what will lead me to get a Gamecube when I can afford one. Over the years I've taken crap from my friends with the PS (I only got a PS1 recently) but as the price dropped on the 64 ($25 now) they all bought one.

    My fave 64 games:

    Mario 64

    Starfox 64

    Rogue Squadron

    Blast Corps

All of the Mario Party games my wife and I play a game every night!

    Resident Evil

    Goldeneye

  2. You definetely have a point there. The Atari carts for CV are all well done. There is that weird Defender thing though where nothing shows up in the radar screen. I disagree on Coleco's games being dull. Many of the coleco made games are supergood like Destructor, Victory, Tarzan, and of course War Games.

  3. If you can afford to keep both then just buy the Platinum. If you want to be thrifty sell the old one. I have to admit I'm baffled that color of the system would mean anything to you. I just want it to work and the games to be good, I couldn't care what it looked like. I'm also jealous because I don't have one at all, let alone in different colors!

  4. Yeah the auction at Goodwill is definetely making harder to spot stuff locally but there is a good side. I've been bidding and watching some stuff here and there and the ending bids are, for the most part, lower then Ebay. I got my 5200 and 40 carts from shopgoodwill.com. It was DOA but I traded it with somebody on this board for a 2 port and they fixed it. It worked out good actually, I got a good working 5200 and they got a 4 port.

  5. Bangles66,

Games USA is a cool place but I would doubt it's worth a road trip from New Hampshire. You could probably call them, check if they have something and mailorder it. On the other hand if you come down to Games USA, afterwards go east on Merrick Road and hit All American Burger. It's the best greasy burger place in the universe. It's definetely worth the road trip.

  6. Thanks for the help everybody, I'll check out those sites. Here's the games I actually received:

    Neutopia (HU)

    Cadash (Hu)

    Ninja Spirit (HU)

    TV Sports Basketball (HU)

    World Class Baseball (HU)

    Bonk's Adventure (HU)

    Bonk's Revenge (HU)

Keith Courage (HU) The first game I have ever completely hated BTW

    Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective (CD)

Lords of the Rising Sun (CD)

    Ys III (CD)

    Valis II (CD)

    Valis III (CD)

If anybody is looking for any of these let me know, maybe we can trade or something.

  7. Sorry I don't have the exact address on me but Games USA is located on Merrick Rd near the intersection of Bellmore Rd & Merrick. I'll see if I can find their card with the address and phone number, it might save you a trip. They have a lot of stuff but most of it is pretty common. They do have a nice selection of full systems. The last time I was there they had an SMS, Saturn, Virtual Boy, 3DO, TG16 (and a sweet Turboexpress), as well as all flavors of Atari. The prices on systems are OK, not great. Their caarts run the gamut from cheap to ridiculous. For some reason I've found the rarer stuff cheaper then say Pifall.

  8. I have met a few collectors at place in Bellmore, NY called Games USA. They sell everything from 2600 to x-box stuff so you're bound to run into collectors. For the most part, most have been at least civil, if not friendly. I have run into a few that were insane at fleas, thrifts, etc. One guy started berrating me for buying 2600 games (a collector who doesn't like atari?) and looking at the SNES stuff. He started giving me crap about how only idiots like Nintendo and I should only buy Genesis stuff, etc. I politely offered to shove his Genesis carts down his throat and he left. This episode was especially stupid because I collect Genny stuff too, so it could have been a fun discussion instead of an almost fight.

  9. Does anybody know site with rarity listings for TG-16 games?

I just picked up a Turbografx 16 and CD unit with a bunch of games from a guy I work with. It's sweet! I was wondering if any of the games were rare and I can't find much TG info on the net. I'm trying to avoid buying Digital Press at the moment due to lack of funds after the TG purchase.

  10. The info about the non working DCs for emulation on dcemulation.com is wrong. I had one of the ones they say doesn't work but it will if you burn the CDR with Nero. Those just won't work with DiscJuggler burns. I don't know why DJ can't do it, but when I switched to Nero, it was all good. I would be careful about using your DC for this stuff though. CDRs make the drive work much harder then real GD-roms. I think it might eventually burn out the drive.

  11. In 1984 when I was 13 and decided I wanted an electric guitar, I sold my Colecovison and Atari setups to get the $400 for the guitar. I had carts and controllers for both systems that are worth quite a bit today and hard to find. Everything had a box and instructions.

I still love that guitar but I curse myself each morning for decision.
