The Ugliest Looking Game System Ever!

True, the Studio II looks like some kind of alarm keypad that should be hanging on the wall. Was there ever a Studio I? -
The Ugliest Looking Game System Ever!
joeybastard replied to fdurso224's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Most of them are actually pretty ugly. The 2600jr/5200/7800 look of Atari was nice. The Game Cube is kind of interesting and simple. Otherwise the rest of them are pretty ugly designs. I always thought the Genny 1/SNES/TG-16 were ugliest generation overall though. -
Oopps, I'm blind I didn't notice the VE on the label. I should have guessed that since I'm aware of the 2 versions.
-
Looks like Beef Drop is up twice in the 7800 carts pics.
-
Hmmmm.... that's pretty tempting. I've been thinking about going multicart on my 5200 and selling my actual 5200 carts. Except for the homebrews of course Does it have a USB hookup or something to change the games if there's a new conversion or something I want to try?
-
For the Wii? really? Or do you mean for the Cube? It says Wii/GC but I just looked again at the site and you're right, it's only got GC connectors. Sorry, my mistake.
-
What games are on it? Can they be changed or is it a done deal?
-
X-Arcade sticks are serial. They sell adapters for USB/PS/Xbox/DC/Wii but I've never seen one for a something as old as the 7800.
-
Since the paddles have "stops" and the DC doesn't, my guess is that they aren't compatible at all but I haven't actually tried it with any game.
-
The Sega pad seems pretty nice. I have a screwed up one I've been meaning to open up and have a look at but just never got around to it because I have no SMS game that uses it. When I tried the pad on the 7800 with Centipede, it didn't work right.

Good for directionals, terrible fire buttons. The only stick that has worse fire buttons is the CV Wico stick which has hard, almost immobile hunks of plastic as fire buttons. I have a Joy Sensor but I don't use it much because of those crap fire buttons. It's a shame because the directional is very responsive and there's no hand fatigue using it. If this thing weren't kind of rare, I'd probably just wire in good fire buttons and then this thing would be great.

Has Nintendo stopped Gamecube accesory production?
joeybastard replied to bdog_147's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I was in an EB last night and they had quite a few GC controllers and even a couple of used wavebirds. -
Do you know you are the king of unintentionally hilarious posts because of your irrational hatred of a game console you could simply not buy or play?
-
Well yeah with that Missile Command steroid use scandal from the last Olympics, I'm inclined to agree.

How often do you pre-order video games?
joeybastard replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
Sometimes for homebrews never for mass produced modern games. -
Is it safe to say that nothing on THIS WEBSITE is any good?

I've heard there is someone out there trying to collect every copy of Shaq-Fu so he can destroy them. Tell him I'll sell him mine for........ 1 miiiiiiilllllllllllloooooon dollars Man, Shaq Fu sucks. My wife picked it up for me when she was in a thrift store. It was very nice of her so I never told her it's awful.

Looks like the Anal Intruder from Top Secret

It must have been a really short time, I've been around for 6 years and lurked on the Nexis and don't remember ever seeing those. I would have most likely ordered one if I had seen it. Oh well I guess I missed out.

There is no cart of Joust for the CV, it was never finished and released. oh! I thought it was legit because it was on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Coleco-Vision-JOUST_W0...1QQcmdZViewItem this is a fake? I never saw those repros, I stand corrected, it was released.

You know I just realized upon re-read you said it's an RTS style game but Advanced Wars is turn based. Which is it? Real time or turn based?

Keystone Kapers for the Colecovision
joeybastard replied to jboypacman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Keystone Kapers is great on the CV but I've always been slightly disappointed in the CV River Raid and Pitfall II. River Raid is more like the 2600 version and on the CV, I would expect it to be closer the 5200 version. Pitfall II is great EXCEPT where's the 2nd level that the 5200 version has? But KK, Beamrider and HERO are all top notch on the CV.
