My wife got me the port of Impossible Mission recently and I'm having a lot of fun with that. If you liked the old C64 game, this is a really nice updated version and it's only $10.

It uses the same same sound chip as a VCS for most games but a couple of carts have a built in Pokey for sound. Have you tried both 7800 and 2600 carts in it? If you have 7800 BallBlazer or Commando, they have the extra Pokey chip so try to see if you get sound with either of those. If you do, I don't think RF could be the problem. My 7800 is the only Atari console I've had that repeatedly gives me problems. My power switch stays on no matter what I do to it. I added an on/off switch to the power adapter to deal with that. The A/B difficulty switches sometimes don't work and I have to wiggle carts to get them to go in sometimes. I like many of the games but compared to the near indestructible VCS, the 7800 workmanship seems lacking.

I think GH II had the best song list of the series. Sure the cover of Search and Destroy is uber-wimpy sounding compared to the original but anything that puts the Stooges in front of the masses gets the OK, in my book.

I haven't played it yet. What's the ratio of old Aerosmith (say 1980 and prior) to new Aerosmith? What other songs are on it?

Keep in mind that while there may be a Dem majority in the congress they are not a big enough majority to actually get anything done. There are enough Reps to keep any measures from being passed or having to be severely watered down before they pass. This gets thrown around a lot where people claim they Dems in Congress aren't doing anything but the fact is, they can't because they don't have a big enough majority. Also: While that may be somewhat true, it doesn't change what's happening in the long run. Let things go the way they are and we won't have it any better. I'll skip the paranoia stuff you get into about "enemies in hiding." It's ludicrous to think whoever the next president is will not do anything if the country is really threatened. You can believe that if you want but I think it's too silly to take seriously.

Me too but I'm in a field less hurt by the general economy. Look around at the rest of your community. Are there more foreclosed houses, more unemployment or under employment? More people sinking into unmanageable debt? All that is happening where I live. So for the time being, yeah, I made a few more bucks the past couple of years but many others around me are going downhill fast. In the long run, it will catch up to me too if things don't start turning around.

No, DS games are for the DS only. Gameboy and GB Advance games were playable on the Gamecube with the Gameboy player add-on but there's nothing like that for the Wii.

I don't think it's really about ease of use only. Using the Wiimote instead of traditional controller provides a different game experience. It may not be an experience everybody likes but it's different never the less.

I find them by the truckload at garage sales. The thing is, I'm not interested in 95% of them so I rarely buy any.

I think it's problem of perspective. Somebody making more than middle income probably has paid less in taxes and the rising gas/food/medical prices doesn't have much effect on them as a whole so it looks OK to them. The majority of people in the middle and lower incomes are feeling the tighter squeeze of those high prices, companies downsizing, unemployment, etc. so they are more aware of it.

The Angry VG guy is just not funny. I don't mind the obscenity if it's funny, but he isn't. His number of hits surprises me because i can't even imagine anyone finding him entertaining. I'd rather read reviews rather than watch videos anyway.

Really? I thought it was nice But then I did spend many hours playing Starforce, Bombjack & Pinball Action as a kid so there was the nostalgia factor I'm with with you, Tecmo Arcade gets a ton of play on my Xbox. It's not as good of a compilation as the Taito Legends but only because it has less games.

This version worked in MEKA. This is really cool, if it supports the steering wheel, I'd definitely pick it up.

7800 only wins for Joust, IMHO. I like the 7800 versions but the NES are just better. They also don't have the painfully awful sound of 7800 DK 7 DKjr.

In Meka, I get the opening screen but then nothing after I press a button. I'll try it in MESS when I get home.
