    Obama (take 2)

Very fair, loading the question with the either/or nonsense. It's very telling when someone does stuff like that. I'll play anyway. No, Obama is not a real Marxist. Acknowledging that there are differences in America between rich and poor, black and white, religion A and religion B, does not automatically make you a Marxist. Somebody wanting the gov't to provide some services for the general welfare of the citizens who support it doesn't make you a Marxist either. I've read a bit about BLT. It's doesn't seem any more crazy than any other Christian stuff. They don't seem any more scary to me than the white religious right in this country. Frankly, I think the problem many people have with it is when they call Jesus a black guy(as if that would matter somehow). I don't think Obama believes it all lock stock and barrel just like I doubt anybody REALLY buys into all of the dogma of any religion. Besides, the President doesn't act in a void, that's why we have three branches of the gov't and a little thing people call checks and balances. I doubt anything too outrageous would get enacted even if he was a nut considering the majority of the rest of the gov't are white guys. By the way, for anybody who looks up BLT, please read a few different links about it since the first one Google shows is "The Marxist Roots of Black Liberation Theology" from the Action Institute who are bunch of Libertarian Christians with a comical misunderstanding of American ideals and the Constitution. Read that one but take the time to read some from a less biased and less paranoid nutbag based source.
  2. Is there a way to just search the image attachments in posts on AA?
  3. I always called them carts or cartridges because that's what it said on the box. Many of my friends called them tapes though.
  4. He is a good actor(The Departed, Blood Diamond) but somehow I just can't see him in this. I don't know who else to cast but I just don't see him in it. Doesn't matter, I'll definitely go see the movie anyway.
  5. DSB was always a fav and still is.
  6. first attempt 24,560 - Space Warrior. I think I can do better when I have another go tonight
  7. 25,320 I suck at the CV version. i find it harder than the 5200 an VCS RR.
  8. Public testing. There will be some suggestions the author may not want to use but in general it works well for improving the quality of a game.
  9. I'm not shocked. Video games are just like music tastes. Although there are younger people who get interested in older stuff, most don't. They happily stick to whatever is new, even when it sucks.
  10. Nice! My collection is only about 1/10th that size.
  11. I use my card all of the time and just pay it off in full every month. I get points from it on my Harrah's player club account so by the time I get to Vegas every year I have enough points to eat for free for 90% of my trip.
  12. It doesn't have an ending. If you make it through all 5 levels (25 rooms), the game will start over with a much higher difficulty and I think the room order will become totally random instead of random by level. Scott will have to say that for sure, but I think that was the plan. It doesn't have special rooms like the robot factory in Frenzy but it does have enough added things(keys to exit rooms, prisoner rescues, Killbot regeneration) in every screen that will keep things interesting. Our plan with it was to be a "sequel" to Berzerk and Frenzy so we wanted to keep the basic elements of those games but add some stuff too. For instance, running into a wall will kill you in Berzerk but not Frenzy. We have both in Frantic. Regular walls can be shot through and touched but the rebound walls will kill you if touched.
  13. It works but it also makes you sleepy. Also, just a on a personal note, I'd rather not have to take a pill just to play a game.
  14. I have the exact same problem. I wear those motion sickness wristbands when I play 1st person games and it helps a lot but I still get a little nauseous from them. There are some games that I can't play at all even with the wristbands like Timesplitters 2 on the GC. That one just moved too fast for me. It also helps to use a smaller TV screen, have a light on and sit as far back from the TV as you can. It's one of the reasons I prefer older games. I can play them for as long as I want and don't feel like I'm going to throw up afterwards.
  15. I forgot, I have the Missile Command 12" LP. It's awful to listen to but looks great in a frame on my wall.
  16. Scott's version of Astro Invader that's in the AA store is definitely not too easy. It's easier than the arcade but the difficulty ramps up nicely in the CV cart.
  17. They are moderately rare I would say a 5 or 6/10, but it is really nice when they aren't written in. Also depends on which one it is there are at least 3 different versions IIRC. THeres a green one, a brown one and a blue one I think.... Mine is green. I figured they must not be that common because I had never seen it prior to it coming into my possession.
  18. I don't know how rare it is but I have an Atari High Score Logbook that somebody sent away for back in the day. Thankfully, no one wrote in it.
  19. Tough to only pick five but at the moment.... (no particular order) Old school: Tunnel Runner Kaboom Indy 500 H.E.R.O. Pressure Cooker New School: Thrust+ Platinum Caverns of Mars Gingerbread Man Toyshop Trouble Hunchy II
  20. On a related note to the GTA discussion.... I'm reading a book at the moment called "The Ten Cent Plague" which is about the uproar over horror and crime comic books in the 50's. The funny thing is that all of the arguments people at that time made about comic books are almost exactly the same as they make now about video games and GTA. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
