Yep, tis an 8-bit computer cart, picked on up new last week for £3, good game for the price too! Would'nt pay £20 however.

All european g7000 models lack the powerswitch. But u don't have to unplug the unit in order to plug in a new game. The cartridges are build in a way that they can be changed without powering down. They are really build kid proof, something m$ should look at with there systems. Thanks for that, make life a lot less tedious. It does seem wrong to rip a cart out with the power on however, just all those years of being instilled not to I guess.

I believe it was left out of the PAL version for some reason. Probably a programming error or maybe they used an older version of the game when they did the PAL port?Tempest
Thanks Tempest, another shoddy PAL conversion just like Battlezone. Anyone know of any other titles that were stunted like this in PAL?

I have just re-read racing the Beam and in the ESB chapter in states that the game plays the star wars theme at the start and also when you get the invunerability thing after lasting 2 minutes. now i hadn't played this game for years so pulled out the cart and stuck it in to reaquaint myself with what I remember as a pretty fun game. But where is the music? I have the PAL version so do you get the music in the NTSC version and for some reason it was chopped out of the PAL release, 'cus I'm not getting jack!

Nice one! I just got mine last week! They are really cheap on ebay over here in the UK at the moment. Minestorm is great, also got Scramble and berzerk, both solid fun games(I however prefer 2600 Berzerk). it a great console and there is nothing else like it.

I bought one about 8 months ago for £17.99 brand new with 3 free movies, it started making awful noises after 3 months and microsoft replaced it for free(they really took a loss on that sale). I think it's great, as you say the films are really cheap plus it also upscales regular DVD's so you can't loose! I highly reccomened you get Planet Earth boxset, it's truly stunning and we have watched it over and over.

Any progress?

I'd too like to see some more of this, nice to see a new shooter, with a different theme.

title says it all really, 2 great games from the Odyssey2/G7000 library, I think these would make wonderful conversions to the 2600, just look how well ladybug turned out.
They are also two of the most inovative maze games from the era bet they would do well in the AtariAge Store.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Well as long as your happy with what you paid then great! No idea ehat these are worth in the USA so couldn't comment but it's the fun you get out of it that counts.

Brilliant, great original idea, hope you have fun making this and I'll look forward to playing.

Agree with the online acheivments. Two games that bugged me about regular acheivements were Perfect Dark & Blue Dragon, both as tight as a gnats chuff!

Just looking through atarimania & I have the box etc plus a much better condition cart for the 1988 Yar's Revenge.
Want me to scan it ROM?

I don't own any Telegames titles in PAL or NTSC , but as telegames was a UK company with a US division I assumed that the UK games would not have a USA logo.
Apologies for wasting peoples time, just trying to be helpful.

Well I just got my Philips G7000 with 7 games inc, crazychase & complete quest for the rings, it cost me £18 in total, everythings boxed and in excellent working order, a real bargain!
This is my first experience of the machine & I'm quietly impressed, the graphics are very simple for the most part, but smooth, the joysticks are neat & Crazy Chase is a blast to play.
Quite why they didn't fit a power switch to the UK models is beyond me, it's a pain having to unplug the mains everytime you change a game but otherwise a nice old system.
I also picked up a Vectrex & couple of games this week so my retro gaming has been in nirvana!
Two great systems I have never owned before in one week, awesome!

Alpha Beam with Ernie & Oscar's Trash Race both have fancy endings(been playing them with a friends daughter, she loves them).
How about ms pacman's intermissions.
-
I assumed it was NTSC as the seller states it's Telegames USA.

Hey at least it works! It's only a Epson SX100 scanner/printer combo, £30 brand new. I may be able to pretty 'em up a bit in iPhoto. The scan software didn't seem to have an option for pixel size so 300dpi is what I chose.

I think I got it from ebay Germany, along with worlds end double pack(since traded away sadly). But I can't to be honest sure, it was 2 years ago or so.

According to the 8-bit FAQ's I have read this cart does not work on anything but the 400/800 and crashes on XL & XE hardware. Well i didn't find this out until i bought it along with some other carts, well they arrived today and it works fine on my XE GS!
Just thought i'd mention this as it may help other out.
