Burgertime could use a little help, it's playable enough, but the graphics sure could be better. this cart is apparently 16k with some RAM too. Also Centipede(don't get me wrong I love this game) could use some better visuals too as long as they don't sacrifice the fluidity and speed.

Turbo Sub.
Really fun 3D shoot'em up, excellent graphics, the effect when you dive under the surface and then come back out, with the windscreen wipers clearing the windscreen is wonderful. The enemy design is also really fun and varied, each level puts you in a different time of day and ocean, with different colours, cloud patterns & sea bed. also love the exit tunnel in the underwater mountain at the end of each level. you collect crystal gems throughout the level than you then may use to buy upgrades to your sub and also fuel and extra lives. All in all not one to be missed.
Ishido.
Wonderful puzzle game, hard to explain but very easy to pick up, probably closest game would be Shanghai on the old Mac. Very simple concept but can be incredibly challenging. A top notch game.
Qix.
Is it me or this game incredibly tough? Very simple graphics and easy to get game concept but unreasonably difficult.

Think the last game is crossforce by spectravision.

He's closed the auction at 99p and relisted again at starting price of £14.99. He has at least made a list of the games on the cart after a fashion. Its still overpriced at £14.99.

For sure, I got a bit corp 4 - 1 for £5 with bobby, snailvs squirrel, mr postman & open sesame & that's mint. Only got is as I have none of those games yet.

I actually liked the 2600 version of Bugertime. It has it's own charm. The game kicks my ass by level 3.
But the best version is the NES version, IMO.
Yep, I like it too, sure the graphics are awful (even worse for me as the colours are all scewed up using NTSC cart on PAL TV & 2600). But it plays well & the sound is strangely cool.

Got some games through the post today from an ebay auction(all stated as working by the seller). Now the Challenge of Nexar didn't work at first, so I gave it a good clean with isopropyl achohol on a cotton bud, still no go, so polished it with autosol metal polish, cleaned again to remove any residues. Well it worked once, now can't get it going again! Have tryed resoldering the chip joints but no effect except now the label is knackered!Any ideas folks? Have tried on both my six switch 2600 & almost brand new 7800.
Best regards,
Chris

Did it come with instructions? icon_wink.gifGod knows, I can't speak German! The seller is cool however, I got my SEE MONSTER off him recently.

Yeah, on the FAQ it says they only last for a hour or so on the Lynx.

Wow that's very cool, remember being show Mandelbrot's in school on a BBC micro. Right now I have to get Chip's!!

A Supercharger is a weird little add-on. It's basically a cart with a cord that will attatch to any old style cassette tape player (Walkmans work great with them so I hear). The games came on cassette, and it added a lot of graphical capabilities to the ol' 2600. They're kinda rare, and you'll likely pay a pretty penny for one, but they are pretty cool.Yep, use mine with a Walkman. Best investment I ever made for my Atari! Keep an eye out on the forum marketplace, much better than ebay, that's where I got mine. Also reccomened Cosmic Ark, Fantastic Voyage, Polaris, Popeye & Blueprint. All fun and nothing else too similar to them.
Best regards,
Chris

I really like the Sun Scan cart, the robots are cool. Also the Tigervision games for the different coloured cases, some of the art is nice too, particularly Threshold & Polaris.
-
I'm really enjoying Fantastic Voyage at the moment. Nice to have a game with a different premise too. Also still in love with Phaser Patrol.

Thanks ROM!
Still trying to locate a scanner to do that supercharger scan for you. Think I may have a few other bits too.
Will let you know.
Best,
chris

serious heart felt question to those that are ONLY involved with the 2600

My other big hobby is classic British motorcycles, my main transport is a 1959 Velocette. She does maybe 55 mph, has mediocre (at best brakes) has to be kick started and reqiures regular maintainance . Not a sensible transport choice maybe in 2007, but if she breaks I can fix her, she is free to tax & insurance is minimal, also does nearly 100mpg.
Now the 2600 is like this it's simple, trustworthy & makes me smile. Things in your life like that are rare.
