  1. Sadly no way I can make the anniversary Jagfest - and I was at the '99 one. But I will go bug Carl @Songbird at the MGC in 3 weeks, and we can talk STL Battlehawks again as well.
  2. I know it's not what you're looking for, but I discovered an odd coincidence. Both of mine are Dec '94 from the same factory (M24C). One I bought NOS at one of those computer surplus sales around '98, and the other I bought loose around 12 years ago at a Vintage Stock. So about 14 years apart. Just seemed kind of weird!
  3. Ah, I bought my player years ago from ebay with some games bundled. I apologize for my incorrect assumption!
  4. I also figured everyone with a Nuon already has Tempest 3000.
  5. Happy Baud day to us old folks! 3oo/12oo/24oo

      That is pretty clever.

  6. Nope. People show up all the time with 1 post for sale threads and never come back.
  7. Brand new member, zero feedback ebay account.
  8. I didn't necrobump it, but exploring ancient threads once I saw a link to a picture of a very young @Tempest posted on the somethingawful.com site.
  9. Well, looks like it got removed.
  10. Not mine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/156074974341?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=H0pmm7NJTGa&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=Z24k0ywFS7u&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Mine came in a plastic clamshell case with foam, not a box and insert. And this box says "special edition", and the text on the back looks kind of messed up. Is this real or a reproduction?
  11. When the console first came out I would rent one occasionally along with Tempest 2000. Later I bought one when they were down to $35. I think I paid $100 for the JagCD. Then over 20 years bought more games. I certainly wouldn't be starting out collecting it now! I'm probably around 90% complete for every title, but that is not my goal either. Unless I find a BattleSphere at a garage sale for $10.
  12. Alestorm is coming to my city, and I have tickets!  Thanks to either @save2600 or @GoldLeader, don't remember which one of your posts/comments introduced me to them about 6 years ago.

WOOHOO!!! That's Awesome!   I used to mention them quite a bit.  :)

And Elvenking is opening!  I like them too! (YMMV)  Looks like the closest they are coming to me would be Omaha, NE but that's an 8 hour drive if memory serves (We did do that once for a concert...)...These days,  I'm making sure I have the energy to drive down to Denver Sunday to see my friends' bands play.  And that's only 2 hours away ;)

@GoldLeader Only a 4 hour drive for me but... I got no money lol

  13. Dang, sorry @Dauber I missed that you already started a thread before I had Al sticky this one.
  14. They have played at MGC the past 2 years, music is awesome and they also are super nice people. Too bad their tour doesn't include it this year!
  15. Another year, another post! https://www.midwestgamingclassic.com I'll be there again with stuff. I know @stupus will bring tons of cool things as usual, I think @Tempest also said he may be going, as well as @BassGuitari. Dunno if I forgot anyone. Except maybe @Albert
  16. I checked my brokerage account, and it says I'd just pay a $6.95 commission.
  17. Car battery died - debated calling AAA, but since the car was a manual, I decided to try a clutch pop in reverse, and it worked! Made it to the shop to get a new battery.  How many kids today could do that?

@GoldLeader Popping the clutch on a piano truck, a sharp movement for a flat battery.

I should note that yes, I usually have done battery changes myself.  But this time both terminals were super full of corrosion crud, so I decided I'd rather have someone else deal with that.  Also wasn't sure if it was just the battery or an additional problem with the alternator or something, thankfully it was not.

I think for anything more than a flat tire,  I'd  rather pay someone to do it right...And also for flat tires ;)

  18. Not even any pictures of it working - which I assume means it doesn't. Wow.
  19. Got mine yesterday - so a 3 day turnaround. Quality seems excellent, I definitely like the feel of them. It will probably be a few weeks before I actually try them with a game since everything with Atari ports is put away right now. They also included a thank you card, which I thought was a very nice touch. I just went to their website (www.techdungeon.xyz) and saw they were at VCF Midwest this past fall, so I'm sure I stopped by their booth at some point.
  20. Nowadays I don't play anything except if it's on my PCs with emulators. But I have a house full of retro computers, systems, and games. Now it's at the point that selling everything seems like it would become a nightmare, just due to logistics, not to mention the new IRS/Paypal rules. I feel like I'm trapped to having a house full of stuff!
  21. Thanks @eightbit! Just found this thread and bought a pair. Sounds like it will be perfect for MGC for my CoCo 3 and XEGS.
  22. Thanks for all the well wishes for our dog.  Today was not the day, the vet had my wife bring her home this morning but they were still waiting on test results. They called later when they got them.  They were still bad, so now we are taking her back in tomorrow morning for the end.  I'm pretty irritated with them about all this, but at least my wife and I get to spend her last night together with us at home instead of a kennel.

We've had her 11 1/2 years, and she was 3-4 at her rescue age, so she has had a good run and very comfy life.

@SlidellMan Oh, I totally have experienced that too.  One of our previous dogs was a German Shepherd.  The hips were starting to go.  Put rug runners all through the wood floors so he wouldn't slip.  However what the final ending was because he got mouth cancer.  Amazing dog.

As George Carlin said in one of his bits, "Life is a series of dogs."

      Very sorry to hear it.

  23. Our dog has been at the vet for 2 days. She will probably not come home tomorrow.  Everything sucks.

However, she was immortalized a few years ago thanks to @frankodragon
