Interesting machine! Looks like a Toshiba style case from that era, maybe it's a re-branded machine. I didn't realize a laptop that early would have a 3GB drive as well.

Crap. You were being sarcastic, and it flew right over my head. Right. Over. My. Head.
Not sure what that says about me; I can tell one person is being sarcastic, but not another.
Sarcasm can be difficult with just text. Totally understandable!

Can we get back to tacos now please?
Yeah, I apologize for derailing this into burger discussion!

While we wait for the "Atari VCS®" preorder date, I thought I'd share my latest concept, which is totally real and not a prop you can buy from a furniture staging store. I've noticed that many of you are asking for Atari 8-bit computer, 7800, 5200, Jaguar, and ST computer games to come back. Classic Atari fans, rejoice! The FujiStation II will be the answer to your retro game wishes. This state of the art gaming device will run open Linux software, and will also allow you to perform computing tasks and streaming video on your television! Click here to sign up for the FujiStation II mailing list so you can be the first to access the launch day deal on May 31, 2018.
Why does that exist? $44 for a fake game console?

Dangit... I went to Culver's.

It's going to do everything my Roku/Pi/PC/PS4/XBox does, but be in a box with classic Atari styling. Seems worth another $200!
I may have mentioned it in this thread before but I will admit that classic joystick looks interesting. I'd probably buy one once it exists, but no money goes out before it does.

Pre-order my automatic robotic taco shell press and cooker for only $29.95. Add the meat-bin and ingredient dispenser for only another $37.50, and you can press a button and wait for delicious tacos to slide down and land into the food basket.
I haven't done any design work, but I also just conceptualized it as I typed that first sentence. Ready for release in 2019.

or as I like to explain, there is a bit of difference between the two
I helped my uncle Jack, off a horse.
~and~
I helped my uncle jack off a horse
Not that I am one to throw stones, but that always inspires me to think about grammar. Though to be fair I still screw it up constantly.
Technically, there should be no comma. It's the capitalization of Uncle Jack that matters.
(ducks)
edit- I was laughing at Osgeld's post, and my wife asked what was so funny. She is the grammarian that corrected it. She then told me to post it and be a troll!

hmm I understand you, but Atari is not the only company to have changed hands and sometimes several times ... the current CEO is doing his utmost to revive Atari and this new platform will be the return of the phoenix
Phoenix was by Centuri, not Atari.

Usually I just stay in the background here except to interject the occasional bit of snark, but you know what? I'll bite. I see this attitude on the various "Atari" Facebook pages, too.
CAUTION: LONG, DOUCHEY, SELF-AGGRANDIZING POST AHEAD
Damn, and you even got to meet me at the Midwest Gaming Classic! I didn't even deserve a mention?

So we're five days out before the reveal deadline. We should start a betting pool to see who thinks this is really going to happen or not. The problem is that I don't see anyone placing a bet in favor of Atari SA.
I'll bet that 'something' happens, including nothing.

Would you say Cyrano is a bit NOSEy ?
Don't judge me, it's late...
Well done. I feel smart today.

Nope. Nobody else got past Bald Bull.
Sweet. I'm still annoyed I didn't get past the champion with 2 attempts.

I'm glad you made it down to say hi in the NintendoAge room though -- a lot of people didn't because it was so far from everything else (I don't think I met a bunch of you, as I spent most of the time showing off my NES game)
Oh yeah... Did anyone ever beat my Punch-Out score? I never made it back to try to beat Mr. Sandman.

Had a great time at the show. I agree the distances between the museum/vendor halls and the other halls was really far. I didn't do nearly as much back-and-forth as I would do at the Sheraton.
I saw Dauber and Inky again, and met Nateo the first time.
A major highlight for me was having Billy Mitchell play the Donkey Kong port on my CoCo 3. Regardless of the controversy, I think this is awesome/hilarious. I just flagged him down, told him about the port, and asked him to play it.

I'll be there on Saturday, April 14th. I'll probably be hanging around where Dauber and the Pie Factory Podcast is with my newest Atari 7800 games. I may bring extra copies as well for a discounted price for AA members including one people may not heard about.
My wife was debating on coming up for a day with a 2nd car and bringing Pickles. I said she could meet the programmer of her game. But she had decided to stay home yet again.

Did someone take the disk controller? Kind of interested in it.
-Edit- Nevermind, you said Disk System taken...

Of all the cheap 80s/90s sports cars I've ever had, the one I miss the most is the Porsche 944... such a fun car to drive... I really should never have sold it.
Sweet Porsche! I noticed the Solstice in your picture... I had one of those and a 350Z at the same time. The Solstice was just a mess. Looks amazing and a fun convertible, but wow, sloppy shifting, dog engine, and 23MPG highway with a 4 cylinder. 350Z is another matter.
Back to on-topic...
Jaguar-wise, yes, if you haven't gotten into it yet, it's probably much too late. I started when I would rent one from the video store for the weekend for $15 with Tempest 2000. Then my first brand new one was $35 at a warehouse sale. Most of my carts were bought 10+ years ago, and now I just add the occasional one when I feel like spending money.
Never actually played Wolfenstein on it, because I beat it back in 1992 on a 286 Tandy. Why would I do it again with a gamepad?
Tempest 2000 was a must. And it has my favorite version of Raiden from all home systems.
Also got the Jag CD, back when it was cheap. Had some fun parties with people getting into the Vid-Grid pack in CD. Put a lot of fingerprints on the CRT though!

Don't bring your retrogaming opinions to work. I work in IT myself. Nothing good can come from it.
I don't have that issue, I'm the only real retro-gamer in my IT department. The other guys just like hearing about the old stuff and were mostly just casual players back in the day. And once in awhile I'll bring in yet another system they've never heard of.

Many laptops are super thin these days. And it would add little or no thickness to put fake woodgrain paneling on one. Either as a real piece of wood or that stick on shit.
Yes, but it wouldn't be Atari doing it!

What exactly does it do that a decent laptop cannot do better/easier?
Have a retro wood grain case?

New Atari Console that Ataribox?

I had Culver's again. Not because I wanted to derail into burgers again, but because I wanted some broccoli cheese soup.
