I'm guessing Wal Mart is much more lax with their rules. With the NES classic last year, Brickseek said a local one got several of them one day. The guy working the department said "We've never had any come in stock." When Brickseek showed a local Target have them, I asked, and the guy pulled one out from under the counter.

I have the same one dj_convoy recommend as well. Seems fine, But I rarely use it so I can't comment on reliability.

That's the same company making the mini arcades in the other thread. The ones I bought had a flyer with their other offerings and I noticed the mini games.

I'll try to work on that tonight. The only major issue I have is these things are pretty loud with no mute button. The UFO noise in Space Invaders almost hurts my ears.

My coworker got the high score with the Space Invaders, and I turned it off and back on and it had saved it. Maybe it's a per game thing.

Glad people are finding them more easily, definitely much more stock than last year!

Got 3 out of 4 at Cracker Barrel today. They didn't have Galaxian. But these things are sweet!

I don't think it's really that high of a markup, since the Japanese version comes with 2 controllers vs. the 1 with the US version.

The rumors about Gamestop are correct, I just went to one during my lunch break and scored one. So I decided to check out another Gamestop 10 minutes away and got a second one. Then I get back to work, and my EU version one from Amazon France was waiting at my desk. Overall, a pretty good day! I'm done for the season. Didn't get an NES mini until February. Don't support the scalpers this time!

Unfortunately both of those have the big orange sticker saying "do not sell before 9/29". The eBay auction has a better view, but probably not good enough to show my friend. And wow, who the hell wants an empty box from that?

Dang, I just thought of a strategy I could use. Does anyone know what the cases they are shipped in look like? I have a friend that drives for FedEx, and does all the stops at a local strip mall with a Gamestop. Just have to ask him if he has them on the truck in the morning. Can't believe I didn't think of this before!

Back on-topic for a moment, I managed to get a pre-order from Amazon France. It is marked as shipped and my card has been charged. It won't be the US looking one, but the Super Famicom one looks cool too.
