Super Nintendo Classic Edition - SNES Mini thread
thanatos replied to Rev's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I still have my 32" Trinitron XBR I bought in '98. Got it a couple months before they announced the first flat-glass CRT. I was a bit annoyed when that news came out. However nowadays, I'm happy that 2 people can move it without too much trouble compared to the flat screened ones. Still fantastic for the older systems. -

No you did not. Rear projection, most likely. -

I loved my 57" Sony rear-projection for the time I had it. 16x9 and could go up to 1080i. Worked until 2012. Though I had to call a junk hauling company to come get it out of my house after it died. -

Had to find a site to do the math just because I've seen it mentioned several times in here. Got these from TVCalcuator.com Looks like for modern 16x9 screens, a 32" would equal a 26" CRT. You would need a 40" to match a 32". I think some of the comments were underestimating a little. -

Blah, couldn't take off work this morning so I'm stuck watching the in stock monitoring pages dwindle down to nothing. -
Just curious if there was a number of logged in devices limit, or if there is just a login timeout after a certain period. I have about 6 total computers/devices I can use depending where I'm at, and sometimes I notice after I log in on one that I may not have used in awhile, one of the others will get logged out. Not a big deal, just something I have pondered.

Yowza. Glad I bought my CoCo's 20+ something years ago... But someone will definitely be getting a nice CoCo 3 with that description! PM sent on one of the other items.

No reason to keep adding to last year's post. I'm reserved at the Hilton!

Interest check - 70s and 80s TV shows/TV movies/commercials - trade?
thanatos replied to Grig's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Wish I had VHS to contribute to your hobby! I recorded all the old Transformers and GI Joe miniseries, as well as the first 2 seasons of Star Trek TNG, but I sat in front of the TV and cut the commercials with the 'pause' button! Back then it was easy - 2 minutes every break was pretty much perfect. -
More SNES minis on launch day than the classics shipped all year. http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170912005798/en/Nintendo-News Nintendo-Increases-Inventory-Super-NES-Classic Edit... Damn, stupid phone was still on page 16, didn't see there was a whole new page of comments already since this morning... Sorry for a rerun!

If it doesn't get cancelled, I (may have) scored an EU version from Amazon France today, they were available to order for at least 2 hours. -
Repair Questions for STUNT CYCLE SC-450

Dumb question, but did you try channel 4? I made a recent post with a Telegames version that I found, and I didn't mention that I had to use channel 4, there is no switch on the unit. -
Why change the subject to lock or delete? Keep all this useful input for posterity!

I keep a .36 set, I think that's around the change from 32 to 64 bit, or just the set that still made emulators for very low end systems/handhelds. I don't quite remember the exact reason it's a good version. My last update was .170, and that has pretty much every game I want to play. Oh, the latest version adds another 37 naked Japanese Mahjong games? Woo.

I see Switches and 3DS's all the time at local Targets now, but I'm assuming sales taxes and shipping (and effort) would make it just as much as buying it off of eBay.

Duke Nukem Forever -- Pre-Release Publicity
thanatos replied to jhd's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I still have this issue of PC Gamer covering it in 1999. (Hoarding? Who, me?) http://legacy.3drealms.com/news/1999/11/duke_nukem_fore_29.html -
I found the world's oldest Donkey Kong machine. I assumed the title was a typo, but nope, the guy says he's owned it for 46 years! https://stlouis.craigslist.org/vgm/d/the-original-donkey-kong-1960/6275902267.html Screenshot for posterity.
