Damn! That's nice. And is that a Neo Geo I spy under the TV?
Yes, yes it is, but that was answered earlier.

Shameless bump, had to add a picture of my 'new' MVS!

I'm going to say this because I know nobody else will - I have two kids, one older and one younger than Bean, but I never considered taking them to Vegas with me. Don't get me wrong, I love my kids, but they are too young to really enjoy something like this and there isn't much in Vegas for kids that young.
Also, at the risk of sounding selfish, some time away from kids once in a while is really nice sometimes, and you are not less of a parent for considering that.
That, and a babysitter for a few days is much cheaper than a plane ticket (or free if you have willing relatives!)
I'd have to agree with this... The whole point of Vegas is to get AWAY!
They tried the 'kid friendly' thing in the late 90's and early '00s, and it's turning out to not work, they're sort of giving up on it. Sure, there's Circus Circus, but every other hotel is almost like "Gamble or get the hell out."
We got bitched at when my sister was pushing her daughter's stroller through an area we just happened to be sitting in, near the restaurant we were meeting at. The restaurant was fine, but she couldn't stand near the entrance to it because there were slot machines around. It's not casino policy, it's their mess of state laws. A baby in a stroller counts as a minor on the gaming floor. Crazy!

I discovered it through various gaming mags. While in college in '94, there was a video store that would rent out systems, and I rented it for a weekend with Tempest 2000. Rented it several times over the next 2 years or so, and I was always happy to find I still had the top score on the cart. Rented other games with it, but we always ended up just going back to Tempest 2000. I don't remember how much it cost for the weekend, probably $15 or so, but it was definitely cheaper than buying one, at least at college income levels.
In '98 I bought a sealed boxed system for $35 at one of those big computer liquidation sales. (They used to be really cool, went to one this year and wow, they have changed to complete crap!)
Been using that same system since then.

Can you imagine asking someone back when this cartridge was new for that kind of money? They'd look at you like you were crazy. Enjoy the tax hit on that one...
Don't forget the PayPal and eBay fees!
-
Thank you for actually posting the pictures of it turned on. I've never seen it, but seen the game many times!
-
Sweet merciful crap. 12 grand.
Guess it's safe to assume that Tuesday Morning was the liquidation company for these.
-
I'm curious, is $50.00 USD shipped (USA/Canada) for all of this asking too much or is there just no love for the GameCube anymore?
I would guess they're not popular since the Wii handles the games. One used store around here just has piles and piles of them.

AH Ha, This makes more sense now. The night before the show I left the the set-up (11:56pm), and was followed by a police cruiser out of the parking lot, down Mooreland, on to Bluemound Rd where I was locating the fee free ATM that someone had referred me to. The Cop followed me in to the parking lot of the bank. When I got out they proceeded to circle the building several times while I used the ATM (I was very worried that they would abuse their power and try to rob me.) When I got back in the car, I drove to my hotel and they followed me there (Quality Inn on Bluemound). I did not make any violations, erratic movements, they had NO CAUSE to follow me or harass me. I went in my hotel and that was the end of it (12:08am). This is the kind of crap that gives police a bad name. They had no reason to suspect me for doing anything wrong at all. There were no other cars on the street, I was being harassed. Ah, Brookfeild Police.

It was the beard. Clearly someone up to no-good.

I tried to reserve a 7800 mod by PM... Let me know if I'm still on the list.

Wow, I just checked out the last thread and after trying to play the CV, the controller was the turnoff for me.
I only have a couple games now, I just hope you continue to make these in the future, these seem to be very promising.
I just might have to get into CV collecting ^_^
You can use Atari 2600 joysticks for some games. That's how we played Q-bert, otherwise that one was a mess with the CV controllers!
But these do look tempting... A couple of mine are really worn out.

does it seem odd that MGC lands on National Lights Out day :Earth Hour?
MGC is known as one of most power consumed trade show with all the arcades and pinball not to mention other gaming items.
I think if we observe that, there would be a riot.

-
I was able to witness that live

That probably means you also were a witness to my rendition of "Chocolate Salty Balls" by Chef.

I would like to announce I will be demoing something incredible with my Tandy Color Computer 3 setup in the museum.
An amazing CoCo programmer has come up with what I think is the most accurate Donkey Kong on any 8-bit computer/system.
Here's a preview:
I wouldn't have believed it was possible myself, if I didn't play it. (And still sucked at it.)

No hardware mods to the original CoCo 3. It actually does it.
-
Wow, I feel old today, I have played both of those handhelds and the CompIV in the past.
-
BTW, if anyone is going to be at the hotel Friday in the late afternoon and wants to help me with unloading, etc. for my area of the museum, it'd be greatly appreciated. Usually just me and the U-haul truck every year.
I'll probably be volunteering my help somewhere, my museum portion will take less than 10 minutes. My estimate for arrival is probably 6:00PM

I've got my hotel booked so I guess it's official now.
AX
You staying at the same hotel as the show?
Since the wife isn't coming along this year, I decided to be cheap and just stay at a Super 8 nearby. I figure what the hell, I'll risk it. And it's more than half the price!

-
You'd probably make more splitting.

Well im not sure how yet but I bought a used Jaguar last night to give away to someone at MGC. I hope I can do a high score contest with either T2K or gorf for that prize. I hope to get it in the hands of someone who will enjoy it
Can I just win the Gorf CD right now?

-
Hey guys anybody who is coming to MGC I hope to see you a the Jagfest we have in planning. I dont think it will be much but I think we will have some high score contests with at least T2K and Gorf. I will have everything Ive got there if you guys have any suggestions please let me know. This is the first time Ive ever done anything like this. Im just hoping Ive got enough good stuff so people can check out the Jaguar and see why so many of us enjoy it.
I hope to see all of you there. There will be plenty of Jaguar fans, I am sure of that.
Usually Carl from Songbird attends and has a table, anyone know if he's showing up this year?

Yes please for a badge!

Yah, but with all the non-digital tv's flooding the thrift stores over the last year, it's like a kid in a penny candy store being able to stock up on them.
I would love to go with the tube TV's...yesterday I saw a beautiful Curtis Mathis piece of furniture TV that was all wood and speakers the size of a small sofa for $5.
Unfortunately, I need to fit 20 systems with 20 TV's into a single Toyota 4Runner.....carrying my two sons as well! That means I'm on a strict flat screen LCD TV diet! I sure wish the older systems looked better on LCD TV's, but you gotta live with what's possible.
Heh, now I feel bad about being annoyed by just my single CRT TV last year!
Someone came up with an RGB to S-Video converter for the CoCo3, and it looks awesome on a 24" LCD. So the CoCo setup for the museum is good to go.

ohhh crap its only less than 4 weeks away. Gotta get cracking on my portables and mods for the event.
I will be doing Atari 7800/2600 Installs and selling the mod there. I would like to build a portable "on site" but I don't know how well that will work out. Maybe get a 5200 mod working. It is designed just haven't had time to build it yet.
I am going to make some wooden faceplatesfor Guitar Hero controllers if anyone is interested.
Guess that means I'm packing my 7800 to go too!

If someone wants to let me mooch some table space, I'll put my Nuon system & games up for sale and give say, 10 percent of the total?

The wall of carts, and a Tempest arcade machine... I love it!!!
