**Sold** Should be adding more soon. Thanks. :-)
thanatos replied to RocketLawnChair's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I'm interested, but would it actually work today with everything going digital? I assumed all the police and emergency radios would be encrypted now. -
I had a family gathering I had to attend, so I couldn't try to bid late. I really wanted it.

I could have gotten so many patches back in the day (for example, I had the perfect Pitfall II score), but I never had a single picture turn out showing the score, no matter how many times we tried. Stupid cheap 80's 110 cameras and flash cubes!

Coco 3 - Big Lot with Lots of Stuff
thanatos replied to Midnight Synergy's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
That's awesome, glad it found a good home. I remember Radio Shack would have the cartridge on the store computer for a demo, which was totally useless, since without knowing the commands you couldn't see the potential of the game. Basically repeating of the blank screen until the heart beats too fast, and then the game restarts. It didn't look like much of a demo. Wikipedia's articles are competing, granting both 3D Monster Maze for the ZX-81 and Daggorath the 'first' 3D home computer title. But Daggorath blows the other one away. Don't worry about getting rid of the CoCo, just get the Windows version... http://mspencer.net/daggorath/dodpcp.html -
Coco 3 - Big Lot with Lots of Stuff
thanatos replied to Midnight Synergy's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Hi, and thanks for the info. I did have a quick play of Dungeons of Daggorath, but didn't really know what I was doing. I'll give it another go before (hopefully) finding a new home for it. It's a strange system - the mix of the different colour scheme versions (?), two different OS setups, software spanning almost a decade... I can see why some people would really get into it. The two different schemes are because the CoCo 3 is backwards compatible with the 1 and 2. The CoCo 3 introduced a 16 color mode with a 256 color pallete, while the coco 1 and 2 used the red and blue artifact color modes. OS9 is an awesome operating system, it was way ahead of it's time compared to Microsoft's offerings. It would have been sweet if an X86 version had become popular. (Yes, I was a CoCo nut, obviously) I sent a link to this post on the CoCo mailing list, figured someone there might want something. -

The CoCo itself is probably about $30-40, the disk controller and drives could probably fetch more than that. That serial to parallel converter is probably worth another $30. The market for games isn't that big, so probably a couple bucks each. You do have the best CoCo game ever, Dungeons of Daggorath. -
Missed the first thread, glad I saw this one!

Very easy to deal with, highly recommended seller!

The only thing my wife would have a worse reaction to is if I bought the Christmas Story leg lamp....

Sorry to hear that, maybe I shall attempt to snipe it. Good luck! -
Old-School Auction: ACTIVISION LAMP

Ok, I'll try for a wacky trade bid.. How about an Alesis SR-16 drum machine. Comes with the power supply and instructions. -
Same here, I've had good luck so far both buying and selling. When I do have to use the phone for a deal though, I use my Google Voice number just in case.

It is but you can't just sell MAME and ROMs and package it inside of a cabinet No you can't, but then why can this jackass try to pass off Hozers as real? (And I'm sure several members have reported this!) eBay Auction -- Item Number: 320546716267

eBay is going to be your best bet (though looks like there are zero for sale right now), but you could try registering on CoCo3.com and the CoCo mailing list. http://five.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/coco The multi-pak is going to be tough.

And you certainly can't go wrong with Symphony of the Night.
-
I didn't get any offers, just the messages saying what it sold for.
-
Nope, just the one that sold for $130 today made it not worth the hassle. I got a couple ebay questions immediately afterward saying "hey, one sold today for $130" and I thought answering in the auction publicly with "See that 'make offer' button?" would have come across as rude. Guess those ones in Europe last month were a fluke... Or shill bidding.

I just get 'zero results found'.... Did I miss something?

I'd be happy if i were toymailman. given H6er joysticks can be picked up in lots cheap, its really only the disc taht's worth something and this one was pretty beat up Well dammit then!
-
So was that a decent deal?

You could also look into Roger Taylor's Drive Pak, it uses a 2GB microSD card. It's pretty sweet. http://www.coco3.com/community/ For video, I'm using Chris Hawk's RGB to S-Video adapter. But you will run into the problems of black and white for the artifact color games. But it works great on my LCD tv, and 80 columns looks just as sharp as with an RGB monitor. He doesn't have a website, I think you have to use the CoCo mailing list to get ahold of him. Of course I had all of this at the MGC, so you may have seen it.

Something I thought would be useful
thanatos replied to famicommander's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I just bought this set from ThinkGeek, but I will have to check out the Micro Center version. http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/tools/9e7d/ I was SO happy when the new Micro Center opened here last year. Not quite as big as a Fry's, but still so awesome! One can actually go to a physical store to buy PC parts without getting ripped off like at Best Buy. -
Do you have one of these? For some unknown reason someone replaced the joystick on mine with one from Satan's Hollow. (red instead of blue)
-
Well, someone else decided to put one up with no minimum. Guess we'll find out the actual value next week. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 260611277007
