  2. Hi,

I co-operate and I trade with Atarians from UK, Germany, USA, Israel, Australia, France, Norway,... from ANY country! And if you are Atarian I really don't care where are you from :)

But I can see the differences between US and European (especially Polish) Atarian's interests of course.

I can see that many Polish Atarians likes hardware upgrades, whereas American Atarinas often appreciates "pure", classic retro gaming.

The retro community is better organized in USA and West Europe I think. We have no any formal retro society in Poland.

I envy you the huge, well-organized retro gaming exhibitions, shows etc.

There are the little, charming retrogaming shops, and video games museums in USA...

I subscribe the great, professional Retro Gamer magazine from UK!

So, I think that everything is important, not only who made more software and hardware upgrades! And the differences are good!

  3. I checked: The BIN price was $250. I bid $125 and I won. You wrote about this auction above! :)

no sir,i will pay 23.95 dollars for it,ebay is not a place to buy for resell!!!!!!

supliers are really hard to find but once you fund them is gonna be a treasure because they are cut off from market by new generation machine dealers so none of the "large and fat "buyers will make a deal with them!!!!and that`s sad!!!!!!!!

i found matterhorn too,but i want to put my hands on it before say something.....

I didn't buy it for resell but for my collection.

Atari cartridges supliers "cut off from market", you say... Interesting.

Are you sure that your "supliers" are not a Chinese factories? ;)

  4.

I'd pay $125 for Romox 16kB ECPC reprogrammable cartrdige (boxed, never used). Description is here: http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/167629-romox-cartridge-sealed-on-ebay/

The $125 for Romox 16kB ECPC reprogrammable cartridge (boxed, never used). for $125 is a fair price, didn't you buy one on ebay for about $150 recently? I guess it would be worth less if you open it to use it, LOL

  5. I'd pay $100 for any Romox 8bit cart...put it up on ebay and watch them fly off ebay!!!

I think $100 is not too much for many Atari rare cartridges...

And I'd pay >$100 for lose Mr. Do!'s Castle cartridge (http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-mr-do-s-castle_3569.html).

  6. Bombjake = Bombjack for the Atari 8 bit. Name was changed to avoid stomping on trademarks.

Seriously? These things always crack me up. Why do people even bother altering the title? I mean really...the game concept, graphics, character, etc are all exactly reproduced, but since the name has been "changed" (barely), it's somehow not a trademark infringement? :?

Keep in mind, I obviously don't care personally and I support these kind of projects. I just really don't understand why various homebrewers try to skirt some imaginary legal and/or moral line that doesn't really exist. It's not like any of these projects are exactly legal in any way. If Tekhan/Tecmo were to take issue with this release (which is highly unlikely), does anyone really believe the simple change of "Jack" to "Jake" would get you out of hot water?

    I don't get it.

You are right. I know that all. But I don't want to "skirt some imaginary legal and/or moral line". I always care of copyrights and I try to find original game's author and copyrights owner. For example, my "Hobgoblin" cartridge release for Atari was legal. Dave Parsons (original BBC Micro game's author) agreed to make 70 cartridges.

This time I tried to contact Tekhan twice. Unsuccessfully.

So, changing the name was all I can do. This is "the sign" that this is unofficial port.
