Hi, Is it possible/likely that I'd be able to find a replacement rubber/foam (whatever it's made of) Virtual Boy eye-shroud thingie? I really don't know the word for it. It's the part that blocks out the surrounding light when you're looking into the VB. I'm looking at one that doesn't have this piece and I'm wondering what the likelihood of acquiring one after the fact might be. Thanks!

I'm gonna have to start hitting flea markets; the best find I've had recently was a single copy of Pac Man for 2600 at a Goodwill. -

When I worked at Gamestop (back when Gamestop dealt in NES games) we had a guy who bought SMB/DH carts by the tens and twenties. He claimed he wanted to corner the market. I think he may have tiled a floor with them. -

I guess I spoke a little too soon. I hit a Goodwill a little farther away and found a minty copy of Lifeforce with box and book. Not necessarily worth the gas, but not a bad find. -

No games this weekend (terrible weekend for finds in CT, apparently), but I did manage to find an awesome addition to my game room; a "torch" light (one of those tall, skinny floor lamps) with a lava lamp built into the... "stalk". The lava lamp can be turned on together with the regular bulb or separately. The wife even thinks it's awesome! -
Anyone Know How to Repair Light Guns?

How big is your TV? I'm having issues with all of my NES zappers with my 32" TV... -

Dude, you're a machine! Great find! Astal is awesome. -
Man, I really want a Vectrex now. Anyone got a spare?
-
I'd be happy to take it off your hands... That's all well and good, but it's still ridiculously hard to find and expensive.
-
I see a number of Vectrexes on eBay for what I would consider really cheap; how much should one expect to pay for a bare system?
-
I have the main barrel and a couple of the attachments (I could take pictures if need be) and the cartridge that came with it, but no receiver or the rest of the attachments. I'm wondering if anyone is interested in trading either the parts I'm missing (or another Super Scope) to me, or if anyone wants these parts in trade for something else I'm looking for (I'd be willing to look at any offer you think is appropriate). Any interest?

I like Astal, and Panzer Dragoon Saga is sweet, but still super rare as far as I know (he said, clutching his hard-ebay-won copy)

Wow! Tell your sister that if she finds another at that price, I'll take it! Wow; Complete games and everything!

Hit two pawns today; nothing. There was a terrifically overpriced original Playstation ($35 I think they wanted) and a Gameboy Color/Gameboy Camera/Gameboy Printer (no paper) combo for $20. I didn't need it, so I passed on that one, too. -

Complete SNES (RF adapter, questionable controllers, but not yellowed at all!) and Super Tennis (never even heard of it before...) all for $6.35 at a Salvation Army. -

Like, with a box and stuff? Well complete in that it has the power supply, the RF Cable, and two controllers, which are in beautiful condition, I might add. Wasn't just a bare console. I figured, but I wanted to dream. -
Who modded(or thought of modding) their gaming system?
MFoolsRun replied to Ace_1's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You don't need it, which is why it's safe to disable. The lockout chip prevents import games from running on the system, but it's also the source of the dreaded "flashing" problem that eventually affects all front-loading NESes. What happens is that if the lockout chip doesn't have a super-clear connection with the cartridge, the game fails to boot and you get the infamous flashing screen. Since the lockout chip is really picky about getting that signal from the cart, disabling the lockout chip eliminates one of the primary reasons the system would fail to boot a game. -

It surprises me that there doesn't seem to be an Open Source or Free Software solution for collection/shelf management. It's becoming more popular these days, since Delicious Library showed everyone that it could look cool and be functional, so you'd think someone would have jumped on it by now.

I have yet to have a good haul at a Salvation Army, though I discovered a new trick today: check among the Eight-Tracks! But yeah, I need to either unload these 7800 games, or get a 7800. The former is way more likely -

I really like this thrifting thing. Goodwill today (Salvation Army is closed on Sunday ) All loose, 2600, $1/ea Circus Atari Pac-Man (didn't have it yet) I left behind three Combats, three Missile Commands, a Space Invaders and a Kaboom 7800, $1/ea (I don't have a 7800, but I figured it was better to grab these with the hope that either I'd find myself one someday, or someone here would want them) One-On-One Basketball Food Fight Title Match Pro Wrestling Asteroids Hat Trick Touchdown Football NES Advantage stick, $4 NES Cleaning Kit, $1.39 I'm pretty happy with it all. Anyone need these 7800 games? Apparently Title Match is worth something. -
I'm a Mac user, so currently I use Delicious Library to keep track of my collection, but I'm wondering what other people use? Delicious is a fantastic program, but it's payware, and it lacks a few features that would be nice, like exporting to HTML (or something else portable) and tracking multiple copies of a game.

It's good with four players. Two teams each working together made our game nights really intense.

I prefer it by far to the N64's controller, but I was only born with two hands, rather than the three required by the N64.

It's a better idea to pick up Ocarina of Time on the Gamecube, either in the Zelda Collector's Edition, or the Ocarina/Master Quest set. Same game, better system.
