Ruggers Customs can fix your dead PCB, and give you RGB output. It looks gorgeous with analog RGB CRTs or even modern TVs using a RGB to HDMI converter.

What you are describing here sounds like something that is already available. It is called Phoenix. Although your version seems to come in a CV case... I find this quote from Steven Jobs quite inspirational: "Some people say, "Give the customers what they want." But that's not my approach. Our job is to figure out what they're going to want before they do. I think Henry Ford once said, "If I'd asked customers what they wanted, they would have told me, 'A faster horse!'" People don't know what they want until you show it to them."

Most of that could be done inside a small device the size of the regular SGM. So no need for mods, it would be all plug & play. That is, if only VSC1 was real...

Well, technically F18A offers enhanced video support. And we have a lot of F18A users out there, and not enough support. But yeah, I was thinking about a possible SGM2 the other day. Wouldn't it be cool to have a device that is the same size as the regular SGM, fully compatible, and yet including a turbocharged custom chip that is a natural evolution of the original CV chipset? Some modules shipped with paper nameplates. Released late 2015/early 2016 3rd run. First compatible with French SCART CV. First gatefold box. Dropped the Coleco name (but kept the ColecoVision name). Released 2016 4th run. Dropped the ColecoVision name. Was the largest run. Released in 2017 I think. 5th run. Another large run. First with dome nameplate and new Opcode logo. We will never have a fair assessment of the ColecoVision potential past 1983 because Coleco diverged (to the ADAM) then drastically reduced investment.
