  1. Well, in that case: Introducing the SGM DIY Mega Light Comes with a bare PCB. Retails for $15. Then buy weekly issues with components and all the required tools* so you can assemble your SGM. While most SGM can only offer you the joy of playing games, with the SGM DIY Mega Light you will have the inexorable joy of soldering your own PCB. Now that is fun! But that isn’t all. If your SGM does work at the end of the collection, you can take home this beautiful patch to prove you are a Super Game Module Pro! Got it, SGM Pro... never mind. What a deal!! * box of Burnaid included Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Ugh, who would want that?! Someone touches the damn thing, puf, gone. And the reason most people want a SGM is because the box. Have you ever hold that box? Who needs porn with that box? I can't sell something I would never buy myself, no way... 😝
  3. You right. Ok, uhum, ladies and gentlemen, now that we have your attention.... “Introducing....” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Lucky me, I had none. Otherwise that would have totally ruined my charming spoiled personality. Now stop making me come here to answer you. If I have to delay DK again, it is your fault. To add to the list of things that are your fault. Bye.
  5. That is a good definition. I remember I had an in-law that I wanted to punch now and then... But most the time he was ok, like when he wasn't visiting me. j/k
  6. It isn't my fault that people don't seem to grasp our truly lovely relationship....:)
  7. Good point. Next time we have to announce something, we can start with drama first. That should make sure we have a sizable audience listening.
  8. Your approach is all wrong. Not only you are beyond confrontational, you are desperate. Desperate to release something, anything. That is not how the hobby works. That is business. Hobby is about need. If I may say so, you don't seem to have any particular connection with this community, that is why you can't figure out things, what we are looking for. How about you spend some time hanging around, just talking to people. Maybe you will learn something... You just burned bridges, I don't think you can get much software support now. Surely not from me.
  9. I see, you are frustrated. You are frustrated because I don't want your help. You are frustrated because no matter which super duper device you can come up with, it is useless without games. I am not supporting you, I don't think CollectorVision will be supporting you either since they have their own console, and while I can't speak for Pixelboy, I have a feeling you won't get support there either. So you are frustrated because you can't get games. First you approach me cordially, then you threaten to compete with me if I don't support you, then you move into revenge. You can't get games, so the only thing you can do is to copy something that already exists, to use the games that already exist. That is disappoint for such a brilliant engineer you like to brag about being... And I also have this feeling you are damaging your reputation here beyond repair with all of this.
  10. Thank you again John. Let me make a final update here, for those still following this thread: Please consider subscribing to our newsletter: http://opcodegames.com/WebApp/EmailRegistration.html After almost 20 years as part of the AA forum community, I will be reducing my time here significantly. I want to increase my focus on game production, and the newsletter, upcoming club, and other channels are a better way to share and communicate with this community. This is a difficult decision, but once you go the developer route, things get complicated. I must choose how to use my free time, because unfortunately I don’t have unlimited free time. So that is either coding or forum discussion. And we become a different class of forum user, one that must be extra careful about what to say, and even avoid posting opinion altogether in many topics. A little frustrating... If you need, you can also contact me directly. Please don’t send me PM here, as I don’t check my message box frequently (and it is near full anyways). Please send message to [email protected] Grazi usually does a great job replying, especially now that she is home full time. You can mention that the message is directed to me, and she will let me know. So yeah, game on. Ed Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Unfortunately I can no longer offer the full SE as planned due to the problems I described last year or so. But I will make sure pre-orders get something special.
  12. Thank you! I know you and many others have been patiently waiting (and waiting) for this game for a long time. So thank you for not loosing your faith and supporting me all these years. Hopefully this will be the first of many more to come in the next months and years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Either swap or bare PCB. BIG UBER MEGA UPDATE: It is a wrap! After 10+ years, DKA is done! Next steps: final QA, alpha test, then beta test. For all the supporters who never lost faith, thank you so much, you are the reason I took this to the finish line. ❤️ For those who had already lost faith, well, good things happen sometimes. 🌟 For all SGM owners who bought the module to play this game, I am glad that I will soon be fulfilling my promise to you, and I hope that all of you find that the wait was worth it. 🕹️ And finally for the naysayers, loved that I could prove you wrong. 😉 As for me, I wish that once the game is out of the door, I never have to touch it ever again.... 😝 END OF LINE.....
  14. Compared to what was available in Japan, the computer landscape in the US past 1983 was... sad. The fun stuff from Atari and Commodore didn’t have much chance because Tramiel insisted in price wars, dragging the whole 8 and 16 bit hobby market to levels that weren’t sustainable. That is why the first thing I would do with the DeLorean would be to convince IBM to not allow MS to sell their PC-DOS to 3rd parties, thus no “PCs”. Every time I see a PC I can’t help but think of Buzz Lightyear: “you are a sad, strange little man, and you have my pity”
  15. I figured out, but was still hopeful it wasn't just a typo.... 😞
  16. I found this video... sounds like someone improved the game sound... I have a feeling it is close now...
  17. AFAIK SAC was released in 1983. So you not only saw the original SGM, you also bought it! You must have been a pretty big investor...
  18. Hi John! We actually don't have a list for this. If you have subscribed to my Opcode newsletter, then you will notified when the game is available. I prefer not to have pre-order for games, unless I am really short on money. Getting money in advance is never the best option, unless I absolutely have to. Anyway, in case you haven't subscribed yet, please consider subscribing to the newsletter here: http://opcodegames.com/WebApp/EmailRegistration.html Thank you!!
  19. Ok, fine, but that is still a closed showing, investors and marketing. So again, I don't think 128kgames saw it in 1982, unless he was an investor or marketing guy. AFAIK, from the media and general audience POV, the SGM was something that lasted just a few months, probably from January/February to June or something. And it made quite an impact for such a short lived piece of vaporware....
  20. I know J-F, I didn’t say they were not developing in 1982. What i said was that all sources say they publicly unveiled or announced the SGM in early 1983. That was the point of the discussion, that probably the SGM that 128kgames saw was in 1983, not 1982. But of course I could be wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If it was presented in 1982, why every single source of info about the SGM says it was unveiled early 1983 (probably at New York Toy Fair), including Coleco's own Annual Report. http://adamarchive.org/archive/Media/- Coleco Annual Report 1982.pdf InfoWorld is another source online saying New York Toy Fair 1983.
  22. Yeah, I know they had 10k employees. But, that said, they couldn't get a single new hardware developed after the Atari 800, back in 1979. Their core consumer video game business in 1983/1984 was mostly GCC. How can we explain that a $2B company couldn't develop their own next generation system and had to resort to a 3rd party. (or two, if we count the Famicom deal)? How a video game company with 10k employees couldn't produce their own games, and what was being made internally was mostly subpar stuff (compared to GCC or Activision). So by 1983 they didn't have a smash hit console or computer, and most of their arcade releases were actually Namco's. There was very little innovation going on, it was mostly nice packaging presentation and marketing. And it is well documented by now that was indeed their mentality, anything with a license, good packaging, and proper marketing will sell... Coleco was doing the cool stuff IMHO. And yeah, they were wasting a ton of money and time on research that wasn't going anywhere. Like, they had a half dozen completely different computer systems in development at the same time, by different teams, no clear goal. I don't think upper management had any intention of releasing anything different at that point. They had Allan Kay, huge waste of talent, nothing he and his team produced was released or got close of being released AFAIK. They were expending huge money on what I heard was mostly academic research. Like, why? Completely dysfunctional management. No wonder they went down....
