      What happened to him?

I wonder if this would help:

It's okay to feel that way, inky. None of this is normal, and it's okay to feel out of sorts about it.

  3. Apparently all state parks in Illinois are now closed.

I wish you the best Inky!

This is just a shot in the dark,  but having heard your podcast, I think you've got a pretty good radio voice.  If there happens to be radio stations in your area that exist with actual DJs and Not Satellite playlists,  well maybe one is hiring?  Again,  shot in the dark.  Voiceover work is another shot in the dark.  But Don't give up hope.  Maybe just take something to get ya by at first.   I went quite a while with no job myself, then got 2 offers within 10 minutes of each other!...And now I sometimes get job offers while making deliveries on my current job,...Happened yesterday as a matter of fact.

    3. Keatah

Or something unimportant. Just as long as you look good while screaming that unimportant babble.

Patch Scores are one of my obsessions, working on 5200 H.E.R.O. now(3k short...dammit...).

Lol, I barely got this one, would be embarrassed to tell you my score...

I think perhaps we should all bombard Hard Work with PMs telling him to come back to AtariAge and say hello.

  11. ot to meet Randy Kindig of the Antic podcast, and Clint from LGR this weekend at Vintage Computer Fest Midwest this last weekend.

Very busy weekend wasn't it?  We had a very quick chat I think late Sunday as I was getting ready to pack up.

  12. Pitfall! and Enduro are Activision's two most overrated games.

Enduro is beautiful game, such a nice experience when you are "in the zone".

As far as favorite Activision game, for me it's Frostbite all the way.  So addictive.

    3. JacobZu7zu7

Nice choices, Pitfall is a bit repetitious. I do like Enduro, when in a mood to cruise.

    4. AAA177

@DoctorSpuds That's an interesting, cool list of ATVI games. Kaboom! certainly is awesome. Not too much into sports games (Skiing) except for Atari Bowling, which I love. But your list made me think of Stampede, which I play quite a bit. Sort of fits the theme. Sometimes I can't get enough of that, even though I always fail to top 1500 on it!

Sweet!  I met Walter Day and Billy Mitchell at a pinball tournament/convention and I didn't get a pic, but I got their autographs on a Pac Man bumper sticker.

  15. Sad that Pac-Man Collection isn't available in the store currently.  I hope for a speedy return!

    1. GoldLeader

I agree!!   I've been meaning to get that for the longest time...But I've got other things requiring money for right now anyway...

  16. Thinking of turning my rPi 3 into a SIO2PC server for my 65 XE.  Maybe gut my tape drive for a case.

I already have an RPi3, so it won't cost me anything.

I'm not concerned with printer emulation at this point.

    4. DrVenkman

Yeah printer stuff is nice (and I’d love a good dot matrix emulation myself) but I really like the ATX support. There are some titles that use custom IO that won’t run from the SIDE loader. So in that case I’d just as soon run the ATX file as some random hack or crack.

  17. Want to try a fun online game? http://slasherworld.com

    1. Flojomojo

      it is a web MUD

    2. Inky

Yep.  Just found out about it after listening to Antic podcast # 254. It was created by Paul Berker, creator of games Adventure in Time, and Birth of the Phoenix for the Atari 8 bit, and Apple II computers.

    3. Flojomojo

I would like to take this opportunity to unironically bitch about how it requires a persistent internet connection

  18. m so glad there's rain in the forecast.  THe mud in my yard is starting to dry out.

    1. GoldLeader

Well, we can't have that!  LOL

    2. save2600

So much rain up here too. Can hardly keep up with the mowing. Not much in the way of mosquitos yet thankfully, but damn if there aren't a ton of those little gnatty things flying around everywhere.

  19. Anybody know where to get the WDLabs Raspberry Pi hard drive cable?

    1. Flojomojo
    2. S1500

I've never seen one in the wild, but I swear my Samsung Galaxy S5 charge cable looks a lot like it(I need to double check)

    3. Inky

@Flojo - Yeah, that. It's been discontinued. Nobody has it instock anywhere.

  20. I've got six broken soldiers in the trunk of my car. Two of them speak, four go to bars. Rods in the closet, a six shooter in hand. A caged up gorilla, and three local bands.

I have enough consoles eating up space at home. I'd be more inclined to buy software for existing consoles, than another box to have to plug in and dust off from time to time.

  23. This Atari XE / XL USB Power cord is one of the greatest things I've ever purchased. Now if one could be made for the 7800.. https://www.8bitclassics.com/shop/computers/atari-8-bit-computer/atari-xl-xe-usb-power-cable/

    4. The Mr. Video

      The Mr. Video

I'm definitely buying one of those, mainly so I don't have to dig out the bulky power brick whenever I want to use my 600xl. They should make usb power cables for other systems.
