Apparently there's a Child's Play remake coming in 2019, and instead of being possessed by a serial killer, Chucky (Or Buddi as the teaser poster calls him,) has a faulty AI instead.
He was called "Buddy" on the first one as well. I think that's the name on the toy in the box (like the Cabbage Patch Kids), and the killer was called Charles and told the kid he was Chucky.
