IS there any site with schematics for the 520STfm?

Fire up Stargate/Defender II on MAME (or other emulaton) then fire up Stargate on Z26. It's easily Stargate.

Found this site for some decent Hardware info on the ST... Atari ST Quick FAQ

I'm gonna check out atari-hirtory.com. They may have some info.

Seeing as PC floppy drives are a dime a dozen, and ST floppy drives are hard to find cheaply, could an ST operate with a standard PC drive? I remember some formatting programs did allow you to format PC floppies...

I think there was a 3D movie called Treasure of the Four Crowns (It was pretty decent, except the fact there was only 3 crowns in the film..)
-
There was one called Comin' At You (which was just released on DVD complete with 3D Glasses). All those 3D movies used the Polarized lenses. About 10 years ago Fox broadcast the ROlling Stones Steel Wheels concert in 3D Personally, I thought the 3D worked well.. and I have glasses and non 20/20 vision.

I just won an auction on ebay for some ST keyboards and system boards. Phase 1 of my little project is complete...

I'm thinking about tackling a project that is like nothing I've tried before.. I'd like to try putting my Atari 520STfm into a tower case. Has anyone ever attempted it? and if so, how did you do it? If not, does anyone have an old non-working ST they'd like to donate for the project (I'll pay S&H)?

And Commando... Further updates as events warrant...

You also missed Xenophobe.

Xevious does use two buttons... If you have a one button stick, it uses one, if you use the proline it uses both buttons fine.

We'll be saying prayers for ya over here too, bud..

I've been able to get from a-z twice. The mines are a piece of cake compared to the rolling boulders in the arcade version.

As we all learned from the great console wars of the early eighties, you can advertise all the stats, but what matters is how good the graphics look and how fun the games are. Let's compare Zaxxon, 5200 to Desert falcon. IMHO Zaxxon on the 52 has Desert Falcon beat hands down in graphics and playability, and technically the 78 is a superior machine. The Zaxxon graphics are crisper than Desert Falcon and the game seems (to me at least) to be a tinge smoother. Now mind you this is based on Zaxxon on an EMu, seeing as I've never owned it on my 52, so your mileage may vary. The gfx on the 78 never seemed to me to be as crisp as the gfx on a Sega Master or a NES (at one point I did own all 3 systems). Sound on the 78 was horrid because of the non-use of the Pokey. But let's now look at Ballblazer. Graphics: Crisp. Sound: Great (due to the porkey in the cart) Play: Fantastic. There was nothing like it on the SMS or the NES. I have probably spent the second longest amount of time on this 78 game as any other (the one played the most being Xevious) Let's look at Athena on the NES (which I did own once.. poor me) GFX: Confusing. Sound: Horrid. Play: There was a game here? Yet the NES was the technically superior machine. I love the 7800 and I feel that it is quite often given short shrift, but it is not, nor has it ever been the best system, but there are some quality titles that are overshadowed by the system's short lifespan. While I thought the gfx on every other version of Xevious was better ('cept the 26 and 52), the play on 7800 Xevious was second to none -- including the arcade version. Just a few disconnected ramblings. [ 02-17-2002: Message edited by: Inky ]

Well, I was born in Illinois and lived here all my life, but I've seen New York on a map. Actually, I have a friend in Ocean Grove (right next to Asbury Park ) NJ who is an Atari collector. I keep trying to get him to come on this site, but he never does. Must be his Amiga browser.

As much fun as Castle Blast looks, I always wondered why Atari didn't port Phoenix to the 5200. I'd love to see the machine attempt it.

I didn't realize Dave Munsie wqas still doing ST stuff. I loved frantick (but was too poor at the time to register it) There were some good free/shareware arcade re-creations on the ST. Berzerk and Frogger come to mind.

Anyone know where to get a HD for a 520STFM? I'm contemplating setting up a 520 ST room in my basement, and would like to get a HD for my ST. I had a 20 MB for it at one time, but it went south on me.

Strawberry Shortcake! Mr. Cheese and Mr. Breadstick from Burgertime! Seriously though, the main character from Haunted House is my fave..

I remember buying Krull when Toys R Us was nearing the end of the Atari era. They wanted to clear 'em out so the price was $3.00 I picked it up because I had nothing better to do. I'm glad I bought it. It is one of the most original games for the 26 that was ever created. Me and my brother used to have a contest to see how long we could last on the wedding screen. I think the record was 15 minutes. I'd like to see that scene removed and published as a game in its own right.

I didn't know you could play NES games on a Jaguar. Sarcasm mode off
