  1. Yea, they are pretty hard to come by. The Intellivision Zone has it at $50 for loose, but that may be a bit high. Since there are a decent number of different Intellivision clone models, they're not collected by everyone. Anyway, probably worth picking up. Here's the guide. You'll see its entry on the bottom. http://intellivisionzone.com/intv_guide.asp
  2. Actually, Arnauld Chevallier, the amazing programmer behind Castle and also the IntyOS has gotten the OS up to version 0.3 so far. What he's been able to do is pretty unbelievable. - Intellicart support, including the ability to use the Intellicart as a storage device - A complete filesystem - File associations with different extensions - IntyAmp, a small music player program You can see his post here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/intvprog/message/3586
  3. Ya, the first time I was playing it, I was only concentrating on my Strength. I totally forgot that there were items to improve my Dexterity too. D'oh! And, I shouldn't give the impression that I blew through it. But it was only my second time into the caves, and the first shot at the dragon when I won. I went through the countryside before, just getting used to the game. The dragon scene is pretty awesome considering the limitations.. won't wreck it for anyone, but it was a well-anticipated scene, and it lived up to my expectations.
  4. I appreciated the NE146's Thumb Candy more. It was shorter and more limited, but at least when I watched it, I didn't feel like I was an unattentive 16 year-old punk. "Tony: Kids, ask your parents.. if didn't play Tetris, they're lying." All the flashy scenes, and Tony's expertise didn't sell me. The first half was really good, but it just fell apart once it got into the modern stuff. I mean, skip a couple of systems so that we can talk about the Army's new game? Why concentrate on what has happened in the last few years? I guess their viewers have an even shorter memory span than anticipated. Anyway, the Thumb Candy one, although British and made in 2000, just seemed more personal, and spent more time on a few key areas. The host, while annoying, actually wanted to play the games. BTW, JR: Adventure on the Saturn? You've sold me.
  5. I can't count the number of pawn shops with the Ebay computer behind the counter. With increasing celphone use, wi-fi technology, etc, is the future of this hobby threatened by ANY printed guide? But, I totally agree that it is going to suck the life out of the hobby.. at least collecting in the wild. I just think that Ebay is the driving force, not the price guides. As for Stan's point, I really don't think that rarity for the most part changes that quickly, at least not more than a handful of titles. Maybe those are the only ones that will be in the Manci mag in each month?
  6. Yea, it's the Starpath game.. I love the Supercharger games.. all of them... even Party Mix. It took me over an hour.. maybe an hour and a half... I wasn't rushing through though. Just enjoying the game.
  7. Well, I beat Dragonstomper tonight.. the first time I got to the dragon, and I beat him. I think that patience is definitely the key to beating this game. Most of the action is in the first stage, and if you gather alot of gold in the first round, and pump up your stats, it really isn't that hard. Maybe I was expecting a harder time with the mystique of the game--maybe I got lucky. But, of course, I had Stan's Strategy Guide to help me. I really didn't follow it to a tee, just read it over before playing. Anyway, thanks for the tips, Stan. Oh well, great game, and I'll give it another go soon, and see if I can beat it again.
  8. Easily one of the best Castlevanias ever and probably my favorite SNES game. The worst thing about it is its difficulty, or lack thereof.. But, the music is great, so much better than anything else we had heard at the time for Castlevania. Great bosses, great design.. rarely any cheap areas. And it is also one of the best because it lacks the Metroid elements. IMHO, Castlevanias should just be action, not searching for keys to locked doors all day.
  9. These are the supposed specs for it: Input: 120V 60Hz 17 Watts Output: 10.0 VAC, 1.0 A Deathskull Laboratories also has a listing for it: http://users.erols.com/tiltonj/games/tech/power.html But, I take no responsibilty for those numbers though.. it's not my site.
  10. Don't forget Mountain King!
  11. http://vectrexcarts.com/ Mark can assemble some homebrews for you. And, Protector is well-worth twice what he's charging, if you don't have it already. I am just about to order Tour De France from him soon. Great deals.
  12. One of my cocktail units is Ms. Pac-man 6M. It is basically Ms. Pac-man with six different mazes, and bouncing fruit that sometimes goes through the walls of the maze!
  13. In that case, I think that you would have to email them your order.
  14. I used my Paypal credit card with them.. I knew that there would be a use for it. But, I think they take Paypal. It says that money order is okay in their Store Policies section, so you should at least have that option.
  15. I just finished playing some Lost Luggage.. It's not really that terrible, especially considering it's from Apollo. I love how you lose a life... "If you fail to catch the luggage, it will burst open, spilling out your unmentionables". Any other humiliating deaths (or lives lost) in 2600 games?
  16. I had Crime Busters for the XE when I was a kid (in Ontario).. no idea about Thunderfox though... I didn't play my XE much, and didn't get alot of new games for it.
  17. Another vote for Addam's family. I have a couple of cocktails already, and getting boards isn't too expensive, but there's no way that I'll ever have the cash needed for one of these suckers. Easily my favorite pinball of all time.
  18. That game was probably Midway's Strike Force.. awesome game, but needs to go on the list. I'll look over the list later, and try and help you with the ports to Japan a bit. EDIT: Just a quick glance, and I notice these additions: Zaxxon was ported on the Atari 2600, INTV, Coleco, Sega SG, MSX, C64, etc. Super Cobra came out on the INTV. The Japanese MSX1 also had these ports: Twinbee, Time Pilot, Super Cobra, Star Force, Star Blazer, Sky Jaguar, Salamander, R-Type, Gradius, Gradius 2, Formation Z, Exerion, Choplifter, Bosconian, 1942... The Japanese MSX2 had these ports: Scramble Formation, Fantasy Zone 2, and 1942. The Sega SG-1000 had these: Star Jacker, Star Force, and Choplifter. There are probably tons more that I'm missing, but it's a start.. there are also the DC and PS2 shooters in Japan that aren't on your list.. I just didn't know how recent you wanted to go. Anyway, nice work so far!
  19. I don't think that you need to look any further than Thunder Castle to see that they system had the capability to make gorgeous (albeit a little slow) games. This game had some beautiful graphics, as did many of the later releases. But, who really knows where they were taking the gameplay. I imagined it being for kids, myself.. and that brings up very bad memories like Sharp Shot... shudder..
  20. Well, I agree that you should probably choose either the 5200 or the XL... But to me, the XL is more of a computer system, not a gaming one, and with all the problems with disks, I got rid of my XL stuff. I made the division between collecting computer stuff and gaming consoles. But, don't sell off your 5200 easily... remember we just talked about how hard it is to get in Canada! Then again, what good games justify keeping the 7800? The only reason I really have one is for the truly Impossible Mission. But, that's just me.
  21. First of all, thanks for everyone who helped out so far. If anyone wants credit further than just their username in thie list, give me a PM. @Sku_u: Is your list exhaustive? Does that mean that the other titles outside of our list (we had Megamania, River Raid, Robot Tank) shouldn't exist? Or are you just giving a list of what you know? I've had people, like SniperCCJVQ confirm those games are/were in their possession. Can anyone else confirm/deny what Ze_ro was saying about the Colecovision? I've not come across many in Canada without that label, and assumed that it was there for legal reasons. Maybe it came in the box and was optional for the customer to apply themselves. I am killing myself to try and remember now! I know the XE was here in Canada, not sure which games though... how about the Supercharger? I had one when I was a kid, but my Dad was always in Buffalo, so they could have gotten it there... Yea, it's not going to be a perfect list. But, we will just try and collect the info that we get. Of course, since the days of Ebay especially, it is hard to tell what games were sold in Canada. And can't just go by someone finding something in a thrift/pawn. The Jag and stuff is going to have to be later. I think the more crucial info is the early stuff, and the hardest to figure out. Anyway, thanks again for all that helped out.. if anyone can comment more, or figure out anything else, keep them coming!
  22. Those are pretty damn tough to come by, that's for sure. I haven't seen one on Ebay in awhile. Who knows how much boxed... $700? Higher? There's a pic of the box at the Intellivisionzone... http://www.intellivisionzone.com/Images/Vi...oPlexer_box.jpg
