What is your rarest intellivision item
Atari_Bill replied to maximebeauvais's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I USED to have a complete in box BASIC cartridge for the original INTY computer. Traded it off several years back though. Kinda miss it, but extremely happy with my trade (Bounty Bob for 5200 in addition to cash and a trip to Vegas for the CGE). Now the only rarities I have for the Intellivision are things like Boxed Stadium Mud Buggies Boxed Tutankham Boxed Super Cobra Boxed Learning Fun II Boxed Body Slam Wrestling Boxed Spiker Super Pro Volleyball Fathom Turbo Congo Bongo -

Yeah, what exactly is it with Ohio? I live a bit South of Toledo and I know from experience that it's always been a chore to find anything in the wild here. I've been collecting for 18 years now and any of my really good finds I've stumbled on had just been put out. If you think anything is going to sit on a shelf for a while around here, you are sadly mistaken. Maybe it's just the fact that there's really not much else to do in Ohio

Oh the machines I have seen in the places I have been! LOL! If only I owned any of them.... Growing up, the county fair arcade tent always had a Death Race 2000 machine I LOVED. Never realized how rare it was until recently. Cedar Point had a great looking Space Wars for many years that I played the heck out of. It is gone now :-( A local mall had a Time Traveller that they sold for CHEAP when the arcade went under. I had no room for the game in my apartment at the time and let it go! Local arcade growing up had a sweet Crazy Climber cocktail. That's a few that I remember. I'm sure I've walked by many others....

Not that long ago I picked up a complete in box Gameline unit. They are out there, but I think they are fairly rare (especially with box & docs). I haven't had time to tinker with it as of yet, but I don't believe there is really anything that you can do with it unfortunately.

That's another one I wasn't even aware existed until the 90's. Anyway, got rid of my copy long ago... have the TI-99 version and love it! Burgertime has got to be up there also for unnecessarily slow gameplay... Burgertime is another one of my disappointments! We played it tons on my best friends intellivision and I was pretty excited to finally be able to get this for my Atari. In general I thought MNetwork did a pretty good job in porting games over to the 2600 but Burgertime was the exception. I'm generally pretty forgiving when it comes to graphics as long as the gameplay is good. In this case they screwed up both the graphics and the gameplay! I can't believe the little love shown for Burgertime! I guess I'm weird in the fact that I always enjoyed it and thought it to be a great translation. It was one of my favorites! Like many others, my disappointments included Pac-Man and the Swordquest series. Badly done all round.

My home arcade was the Electric Animal in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Small arcade (probably 25-30 machines) but quality machines all round. I remember days of playing Crazy Climber Make Trax Venture Popeye Donkey Kong Just a sampling of the greats! I miss it so much! Whenever I'm back in town visiting the parents I do a drive by. It's now a flower shop with an obcene number of plugs around the floor! Sigh....
