Can you point me in the direction of the threads that discuss Sears and Telegames stuff for the Atari?

This is near and dear to my nostalgia - I grew up picking toys out of the Sears catalog every September/October.

I feel the same way.  My first Atari unit was a Sears 6 switch.  I still have it CIB today (I was a weird kid that kept everything boxed and in nice shape).  Below is a thread that I recall providing some insight into the Sears pic labels.  Check it out.

Yeah I dropped bids earlier this morning on 3 titles I needed, instantly outbid on two. None of the games this vendor dropped had boxes, so i'm hoping to snag at least one of the 3 I need! I don't know WTF has happened this year but why the FCF has become almost Neo Geo like in pricing its amazing to me. I mean, those of us who had them as kids are gonna start dying off soon!..lol.

Watching these auctions purely out of curiosity.  Checkers already at $355 with days left.  I’m so glad I got mine a few years ago before this insanity began. No box but cart and instructions for around 100.

  3. Several of the Sears picture labels are fairly hard to find.  I’m not sure which ones are tougher now, but there are threads here discussing this.  I think Gunslinger and canyon bomber took me quite a while to find.  Race isn’t the easiest either.

As as far as the Superman goes, I don’t know for sure that it’s ever been decided that it was an official release.  I don’t know specific numbers but I’ve heard of only maybe under 10 people that has one. That seems very odd that they would have made such a rare variation for production.

Thanks!  I've honestly never seen an Adventure label with Sears on it, and I scour eBay and other sites nightly.

Of course that doesn't mean it is rare, its just that I don't ever see them.  Do you?  Have you?  Thanks again!

The Sears picture labels are among my favorites for the Atari. I just love the artwork on them.  I have a full set of them but some of them are not easy to come by.

OK we only took photos of our sealed Sears games. Most of what we are showing are NIB or Shrink-wrapped. We have decided to fill the Sears section with photos of all of them. Thanks for pointing that out. We have over 2500 photos in the library. LOL

Gotcha.  How can you not a sealed Checkers though. C’mon!  😛

The halloween box sold for more than the last cib copy on evay lol

I think its a box im checking off my probably not getting ever list now.

Coming in 2nd bid a few years ago for both wizard games cib for around $675 was my chance i think....that ship has sailed!

Oh well! Happy to at least have the real carts/manuals inside repro boxes.

Yeah, for whatever reason boxed items have made a huge increase the last several months.  I’ve especially noticed Sears items.  Nobody used to want them,  but now it’s tough to find anything more than complete common listed under $100.

There are several things out on eBay right now that will be fun to watch. The big boys are going to be dishing out buckets of cash this month.

    Chase the Chuckwagon box

    Halloween box

    mint Swordquest Waterworld box

prototype maybe 1 of a kind Waterworld box

i made my laughable bids to play along, but I can’t wait to see final $$$ on each of these.

None of these failed to disappoint.  Generous sums of $$$ shelled out for each.  Especially the Waterworld promo box.

Looks like alien invasion went for a reasonable price despite boxed. The other us exclusives didn't go too high considering. If I had the funds I might have even considered buying myself for CIB copies... Oh well.

Whizball went for 500... Really man.... I got it myself in the past 12 months for a tenth of that...

I show it ended at $652!!  Unreal. If this is going for that, a similar condition Checkers could easy top $1200.  I have a bad feeling we’re going to start seeing these back up for sale after being “graded”. 🤬

You are probably right, I think the whizball situation is comical but will probably be disastrous for those of us wanting to collect. Dread to think what a copy of checkers is going to go for in this mess.

Yeah, the rarer Channel F Games have just gone nuts the last year or so.  I’m surprised there are that many people in the market for a fairly obscure system.  Maybe it’s just the rarity that drives collectors to buy anything whether they collect for it or not.

But Atari 5200 suitcases are going for a lot also.  Any plastic suitcase yes a lot for 1200.  But specifically for Intellivision or what ever its not.  I don't know how many were made.  But probably not common.

True that they go for more than you would think, but I got my Intellivision case in the last year.   Full auction for 7 days with system and games.  The case is much nicer than this one with all foam and keys included. I paid under 175. That’s just a bit less than 1200. Right on par with this seller though. You can usually take an average price, multiply it by 7-8x and come up with their list price.

Might be some nice boxed ones there if they don't go silly price. Not sure if I'd goto the trouble of getting US exclusives boxed. No checkers, the journey continues.

I think we can guarantee it’s going to go for a silly price.  Bargains seem to be non existent lately.

I believe all Pac-men variants are the same ROM.  I checked mine and I have the small label and the hyphen, but not the one missing the hyphen.  I'll look more places this week.  The full label hyphen is certainly the most common.

Regarding the small labels, I have a sub-collection:

I thought for sure I had Slam Dunk and Commando as well, but can't find them at the moment 😠

Are you kidding me??!?  Another set of variations I have to track down?   Aaarrrrgghh. 🤬

This would be cool. A rarer version of the cart, with an even rarer version of the manual. If this turns out to be true, you may want to print a custom box to store this puppy when your not playing it.🙂

Finally gave this a try to check the scoring.  My cart scores normally. No variation.  I would guess this is a manual error, but you never know.  There might be a cart variation with the different scoring out there somewhere.
