  1. Not Intellivision, but still related (Mattel Electronics).  Anyone ever come across these Burgertime items before?   After picking them up I did a little research and these were apparently included in certain packaging for the Mattel handheld Burgertime game.  The second photo I pulled from the handheld museum page.  It looks like there were actually four.  Shame I’ll never find the hot dog.

Wh-what? I mean its a bit rare but not $900 rare. I paid less than 75 for mine.

Can't be a typo either as he has a tron up for 100, which he knows is worth less (Judging by the "SUPER RARE" in the BurgerTime listing)

Oh it’s not a typo.  People are deluded enough to think their stuff is worth that.  Of course with some of the sales lately maybe it is. There seems to be a ridiculous amount of money coming into the hobby right now.

  3. I’ve been using the lockdown to slowly get through and cleanup purchases from the last year or so. Finally finished today. Quite a while back I bought a large lot of boxes in various condition from great to really bad.  I dug through that lot today and cleaned up as best I could. Certainly some in this lot that I can use. It’s quite a few for a pretty good price if I recall correctly.

How do I tell if mine are for Colecovision or for my Intellivision.  Mine have the straight db9 plug.  I thought that they were for the Coleco?

As I understand it, the straight plug is Coleco.  The odd thing is that is what is shown on the Intellivision box as well. The intellivision one has a bent plug.

Yep. I bought mine from a guy who had a bunch of promotional stuff. I know it was a promo piece from 1982 but I'm not sure who it was given out to. I hadn't seen any others until now and had assumed it was probably given to large retail buyers. I'm not sure why though since everyone was super excited to get Pac-man. I can't imagine Atari needing to talk any stores into ordering it.

Did you supply a pic to the Atarimania site?  Didn’t know if he got that from you or elsewhere.

Guessing it was probably an internal employee thing. Maybe Tod Frye would know?

BTW: might you be interested in trading or selling it? Into other vintage Pac-Man collectibles?

No, not into selling. I love to add old game related merch to my collection.    This is one I really like.

  7. I just picked this up recently and would love to know if anyone has any details about it. I know it’s got to be a promotional piece, but for whom. Customers, employees?   I could only find it in 2 places when I was researching it.  One was a member here that has one and the other was on ROMs page.  Neither provided any history though.

Congrats!!!! I have had 1 a long time and its 1 of my favorite pieces in the collection. You NEVER see them! :)

No you don’t.  I’ve only seen a couple the last few years and got outbid on the first. It came with a Sears pong. I was hoping the case might be branded Sears in some way, but it isn’t. I don’t think I’ve heard of a Sears branded case.

Yeah, that’s where i would expect a boxed Checkers to be, price-wise. Not sure what’s going on there. It’s Whizball, for crying out loud.

Whizball was definitely hard for me to acquire, but if these bids are legit there are at least 2 collectors out there with huge pockets trying to get perfect items at any cost.
