Intellivision Ebay Roundup

Whomever won this has me to thank for this. I got a message back from the seller that he reposted with a BIN for me. It was of course gone before I could even get back to the auction board. You win some you lose some I guess. -

This is the first one I've ever attempted. I still find it distasteful and dispicable to do, but unfortunately you've got to play by other's rules if you want to have any chance to win. I took a shot. It didn't work but someone else was either going to grab it via side offer or I surely would have been priced out of the legitimate auction. -

In the past I've been completely against this kind of thing until I posted one of these types of auctions and someone emailed the seller and made a side deal to scoop up a great lot of games at a very low price. I figured I'm done playing by the rules if others don't bother to do so. I did contact the seller minutes after the auction was posted trying to make a deal, but never heard back from him so it wasn't me. I'm not surprised it's gone though. After it was listed here the seller was probably bombarded with offers. -
I saw that. This has to be one of the most disgusting looking game auctions I've ever seen!

Wow! Talk about speed collecting! :-o
-
I saw those, but they still aren't really all that rare. Those are actually ones that I didn't need strangely enough.
-
I really didn't think there was much overly rare in this lot. I thought $30-$40 would be way high for this lot. Absolutely floored at this ending right at $100. WTF?????

Agreed. More than I would ever spend but nice none the less. -
I started collecting in the very early 90's for two reasons.... 1. Nostalgia & the love of gaming growing up. 2. It's an extremely cheap collecting hobby which will allow me to complete pretty much any system I'm interested in with very little $$$ At least one of these is still true.

Looks like it sold!!! It's beginning to look like you can slap the Intellivision name on some dog crap and it will sell for a $100! -
That it is. In my one dealing with her/him I found them very shady. They posted a lot of Sears games CIB shown stacked nicely with some wear on the corners but nothing really too bad in my opinion. They mentioned that the boxes had wear (which I took to mean the corners). I pulled the trigger with a BIN since there were some nice titles in there. When I got them every front / back that you couldn't see was completely torn away like they had been stuck together. I've tracked this reseller ever since and any time I see them bidding on ANYTHING I'm somewhat interested I will run the price up with higher bids than I would have done. I would never buy from this person again.

Interesting to post this at this price when a complete copy just sold for only $440. I'm not implying that it's the same copy (it's not, I checked), but really. The market looked like it topped out at $450. Why would anyone decide to bid over 3x that? I will never understand that rationale to post extremely high with a make offer. Turns me off as a buyer every time. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm%2FCIB-Guardian-ONLY-Atari-2600-Complete-Box-and-manual-%2F130862197284%3F_trksid%3Dp2047675.m1986%26_trkparms%3Daid%253D555001%2526algo%253DPW.CURRENT%2526ao%253D1%2526asc%253D7%2526meid%253D6220749972215546036%2526pid%253D100013%2526prg%253D1004%2526rk%253D3%2526sd%253D290878806925%2526

That one's puzzling. Unless there's somehing I'm missing here, there's nothing that should bring $12 much less $33. Odd thing is, I'm pretty sure I've seen the buyer of these heavily active in many other auctions. The only thing I can think of is that maybe the QBert is actually Qbert's Qubes and the buyer asked about it?

Yeah, this reseller seems only interested in slapping games in graded boxes and marking them up 80x their worth. Will be ignoring this troll from now on.

It's gonna be a pricey month of March for at least one of our most esteemed members. -

I won't say they'll be worthless, but I don't think they'll come close to holding much value. Besides the fact that we'll be dying off, so will the carts themselves. -

Depending on the price they went for, that wouldn't bother me too much. They'll still display on the shelf fine. -
