Intellivision Ebay Roundup
Atari_Bill replied to IntellivisionDude's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I notice that the second place bidder in this one has been involved in all 3 of the "WTF" auctions that have been mentioned here. He won 1 and came in second on the other 2. Again, money doesn't seem to mean much to this collector. -
Intellivision Ebay Roundup

Don't get too excited with that one. I jumped on it since I had been looking for a boxed copy for as long as I can remember. I can't tell you how excited I was to get a great deal on it. Unfortunately, I got an email later that week saying it had been listed in error and my money was refunded. -

Isn't that about the same time that Voltron entered the Intellivision market???? I believe someone else referred to this as "The Voltron Effect". -

How much is too much to spend on your Atari 2600 hobby?
Atari_Bill replied to Serious's topic in Atari 2600
Can't really say how much time I spend on the hobby, Probably no more than a few hours a week. Too many other obligations to meet. Budget is subjective. Some folks are willing to spend whatever it takes when it is something they want. If you can do that I guess more power to you. I personally pass on many things on my want list. Even if they are a good price. I stick to under 1% of my takehome being budgeted for my hobby. That's what I'm comfortable with. That allows our family to enjoy all the other things that we can -
Screw it. Probably won't do any good, but I reported him to ebay. Tired of his kind of scum duping people.

Wow, nice!! I'd love to get my hands on a boxed copy of that, let along a NIB copy. -
Would ebay do anything if he was reported?

You wouldn't be screaming if you had been the one to hit the BIN That's really the only thing I look at on ebay anymore. It's rare to nab a good deal there. I just keep hoping to stumble on one of these once in a lifetime BINs! -
Seems like there's been a ton of these on Ebay lately. Anyone know if this is real or fake? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 321062779338 I'm suspicious seeing as this seller has already sold 2 other copies in various lots. This seller has also sold 2 copies of X-Man that looks very faked (but never mentioned as such in listing). In the last few days yet another seller has sold multiple copies of this. Are we seeing a lot of faked copies or is this rarity down to about a 4 now?

I don't think there's any real way to tell unless the party that bought it is around..... Nothing in the auction is screaming that it's not real. -
Wow, I haven't heard that name in years! I miss those days on RGVC.

I saw that too before it was snapped up. I didn't buy because they mentioned it was Hozer. I too thought that the Hozer stuff had the logo though.

Atari Hotwheels Kiosk - Get one and store your boxed games in it
Atari_Bill replied to Parrothead's topic in Atari 2600
Locally they dropped the price on the Atari cars to 2.59 each. I just picked up the Tempest and Pong cars. I requested that the kiosk be saved for me, but we'll see if it actually happens or not. -
Get a multi-cart. That's the best solution. I still try to collect the physical carts for the system, but it's great to be able to power up the system and have access to any of the games you want. The only drawback is not having overlays. They aren't required, but they do add a nice touch to the games. As far as games go, my favorites are Star Castle and Armor Attack. I was always a sucker for them at the arcade.

You and me brother! I make it a point to spend less than 1% of my income on this hobby. There are just too many other things that come around in life! -
Where Did You Get Your First Atari 2600 and What Type Was it?
Atari_Bill replied to TheAtarianGuy's topic in Atari 2600
Christmas 1978. Sears 6-switch. I still have the same one today CIB. -
I thought that was a good deal personally. Vectrex are extremely pricey so if you could get one straight up in trade I'd jump on it! I love mine. If you enjoyed any of the vector games back in the day, the expreience is flawlessly replicated on the Vectrex. It is a great machine!

Wasn't the Fathom purchased by a well known (but currently missing) local board celeb? -
Such a shame

At what point do you become a serious 2600 collector?
Atari_Bill replied to lanatrzczka's topic in Atari 2600
Good for you! Don't get bogged down and obsessive with collecting. Enjoy what you have and play what you have. I only wish I could take my own advice.... -
It was in a seperate picture all by itself.

CIB games that you have always wanted to own?
Atari_Bill replied to segagamer99's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Are we talking about "sealed" stuff here? CIB to me is "complete in box" nothing more. Defintely not sealed. I honestly wouldn't go out of my way for anything sealed. A piece of plastic shouldn't double the price to purchase IMO. -

I've always wanted a CIB Donkey Kong for the Colecovision. That's probably the top box I'd go for.
