Many RARE - GREAT START OR FINISH TO A COLLECTION

Wow, I can see why it sold in less than 30 min. There were some pricy pieces in there.

  2. In at least one collectors guide they had a picture label listed for this but they didn't have a picture. Unless anyone can show me one, I'm going to strike that one from my list. Thanks Supergun! I believe one of the sets of pictures I looked at for verification was yours.

  3. I've been working off and on trying to finish my picture labels (minus the Superman I'll never have of course), and want to double check on one title. On my spreadsheet, I had listed Arcade Golf with as having a pic label variation. I looked back at as many "complete" Sears picture label collections as I could find on the boards, but didn't see that title. Does anyone know if this has a picture label or is my info flawed? I'm hoping I'm wrong. I'd rather not have to hunt for that.

    Thanks in advance!

  4. If it's only about value and investment it becomes a bit like stamp collecting, and has little to do with love for retro gaming.

Unfortunately that's how I see the hobby heading. I've been in and out of so many "collections" in my life that I see the trend. When I started collecting these games in the late 80's it was a fun and extremely cheap hobby that was really enjoyable. It's still for the most part fun, but in many cases no longer cheap. The lure of a quick turnaround to make profit is getting my frustration level to the point that the fun is all but gone and resentment takes over. I just hate to see that happen.

  5. That was my experience. I ordered a second copy of Scarfinger and the "mystery" game (which ended up being Choplifter) but only got one Deep Pockets (that's not a complaint, btw, what a great gift!). My hope was that I may be able at some point to use them (Scarfinger and Choplifter) as trade bait to get a "big boy" or two that I don't have yet.

And $125 is not an outrageous starting price as I think that they'll go higher. Keep in mind, not everyone was able to order them at all to begin with and I don't think that there will be a lot of Deep Pockets on the market since most people didn't have an opportunity to buy more than one.

Unfortunately you are correct. $125 isn't an outrageous starting price. It depresses me to no end that it will finish much higher than this.

  6. First, I want to publicly thank David for all the hard work and passion he has put into these Intelligentvision releases. I had the privilege to become friends with him when he lived in Miami and I was SO impressed with his dedication to the Intellivision, from his CD compilation to helping people in other projects (whether it be Intellivision, Colecovision, or getting a certain Gamer's garage organized so his wife wouldn't kill him) to all of the many Intelligentvision games he has produced. And if you ever get the chance to know him personally, let me tell you, this is an EXTREMELY nice human being. THANK YOU, David! I wish you weren't retiring from game production and I wish you hadn't moved away, because, man, YOU ROCK.

For those of you who missed out on the limited-releases of his final three games, I picked up spares and am placing them on eBay tonight. Choplifter is already up...Deep Pockets: Super Pro Pool & Billiards will post at 9:15 pm...and Scarfinger will come later in the evening.

    The link to Choplifter is:

The link to Deep Pockets: Super Pro Pool & Billiards is:

SCARFINGER -- I don't know the link yet. I'll post it here when I do.

and unfortunately I don't even have the capital to place a single bid on your extra Deep Pockets. :( This was one of the top 5 of my all time want list and now will probably never happen. Sigh.

  7. Ok. Gotta say wow! How could a copy this nice sit around for so long and never be opened? I'm envious to whomever ends up with it. I don't have a chance at it. Good luck to those who do. It would be a nice addition to any collection.

(((Sorry if I spoiled it for anyone :P )))

  8. No flame war intended, but listings like this even with a "make offer" option is going to be incindiery. When I used to sell on ebay, I started things at .99 and went from there to determine true market price. No complaints. Items always sold. The items are yours now and you have every right to start them at $10000 if you want. Just saying that your practices will turn many folks off. It certainly does to me.

  9. As a collector and player, I want to thank you phatty for doing these. I didn't have the cash on hand to buy a box for my Lord of the Dungeons in your recent offering, but the boxes you made look outstanding! It is very appreciated amongst the true collectors out there. I was hoping you would see my post when I put it out there to find out if you approve of this type of turnaround on your product. Like I said before, I'm not opposed to folks making some profit, but when it they are buying limited runs just to dump on ebay at inflated prices, I find that despicable.
