  1. Hi, I don't get notifications for new posts in this thread. I only did the initial setup directed by analogue.
  2. I hear you! I like my 800 the best, but my xegs is in second place.
  3. To clarify, if I had a fujinet, I would just use with my xl/xe, but it sounds like you just have the 800. Can always expand your collection :D
  4. I wouldn't do any upgrades just to use fujinet. If it's doesn't work well with a 48k 800, I'd just give up on it. As far as Atari 800 OS B versions of software. People have modified those files and others in similar ways. Sometimes they update the filename, sometimes they don't. It's a bit of a mess. You could end up with a file that was originally intended for 48k 800, but will only work in XL/XE.
  5. You can even change the program if you get familiar enough with BASIC. Tailor it to your liking. That's how we learned back in the day.
  6. Re: Gimp. There is also MyPaint, but it might not be any easier to deal with.
  7. I'm on an older version but it lists these -video-accel Use OpenGL hardware acceleration -no-video-accel Don't use OpenGL hardware acceleration at https://github.com/dmlloyd/atari800/blob/master/DOC/USAGE Not sure if that's official docs. Also check ~/.atari800.cfg for anything.
  8. Oh, awesome, that sounds good to me, you may be close. I don't directly use apt on a daily basis, but my experience shows that the debian packages are always configured correctly and play nice with other things. It does sound like a bit of work setting up an environment to build and having to install dev versions of everything. But being unfamiliar with ChromeOS my experiences may not carry over here.
  9. Too bad! I run a distro where I need to build from source and I can definitely relate about having to build dependent libraries. I'm not familiar with ChromeOS at all but it looks like it doesn't have or use a package manager like apt? If not, then I agree, it might be better to skip on ChromeOS in this instance. Maybe someone more familiar with it has a better answer.
  10. Yikes, after reading that description on how to win, I don't think I'll be beating it any time soon. I would love to watch a longplay of someone beating the game, well I guess you wouldn't see much in the night parts, heheh.
  11. Could be a problem with my Pocket. Going to follow up with Analogue. You might want to check this cartridge if you have it.
  12. Thanks! Only thing I can think of is it's a counterfit. At least it works on real hardware and everything else works.
  13. Anyone tried running Final Fantasy IV Advance? All my other gb, gbc, and gba games work except this single one and on real Hardware it does kind of a weird jump into the Safety Warning Screen at boot. I wonder if that's the reason. FF1&2 Advance, FFV Advance, and FFVI Advance all work. Contacts are gleaming.
  14. I agree it is probably a bit rough of a road, but people here will help you until it's going. If the string processing(A$=B$+C$) is problematic, maybe try just making a version that works with numbers first. But that might not help things either. Maybe someone who is a bit more familiar with coding will give it a go. The other day what got me through something was knowing it was going to be a slog, and just being very patient. Set a goal of 5 lines a day. Maybe report the errors as they come up and people can offer insight on each error. Reading other comments, sorry for encouraging you to just jump in! Didn't think the BASIC versions were as different as they are. Hope you are able to get something going. Maybe try coding one up from scratch.
  15. type that shit in lol, convert it to atari as you go, laugh at the funny bugs until you get it working
  16. The error page mentioned HSTS. I noticed some entries in SiteSecurityServiceState.txt are designated as such. The atariage entry in that file does not have an HSTS designation. I mention this because right when it happened, some of us were able to get on via other means and when we researched HSTS all information pointed to Firefox's current behavior to block and not allow an exception to be made in the case of HSTS. @Albert tried some workarounds(he may have tried this one, not sure), but none worked.
  17. Yeah, Albert and I are on 117.0 and it won't let you do that anymore for HSTS. Someone else was still on 114.0 and it let them bypass.
  18. Nevermind, can't download old versions of Firefox. At least not where I was.
  19. Yeah, poking around there doesn't seem to be a handy fix. A lot of people mad this is the behavior now.
