  1. I would have gladly pointed her in the right direction but she locked the comments. I love to help people out in any way that I can. The initial reason that I commented was because of the lack of research on her part. I know it's just a YouTube video, but I would never make a video about something unless if I researched it and had a good grasp on what I was talking about. It's great that she is excited about her collection and classic games, just don't brag about it unless if you know what you are talking about. If I were to brag about paying $30 for a rare Super Mario Bros cart then I would expect people give me feedback on how that wasn't such a good deal.
  2. I can verify that on my DK cab P1 & P2 = blue and Jump = orange.
  3. Because TV has told us for years that only creepy nerds do that and TV is never wrong. Get with the program. Turn off your brain and let TV do the thinking for you. Or just let Chris++ do the thinking for you. Apparently he is good at that.
  4. You mean the same way that you are judging me right now? I was never judging anybody I was making observations. If somebody is going to make a video about anything they should know at least the basic facts about what they are talking about. If they don't then that is how people get misinformed. I would have left her a very respectful comment to her stating her misinformation but she locked the comments. If you don't like my opinions then I don't realy give a shit but don't come on here acting all high and mighty calling me a Trekkie that lives in his parents basement. I'm sorry if you don't like to hear the facts for what they are.
  5. Bah. Already lost creditbility right there. If one is going to try and connect all the games together in a timeline, it needs to be linear, for the simple fact that man made time is linear. If you have to split the series up into seperate chunks, then all your doing is creating totaly seperate series. Marry Tylor Moore and Rhoda aren't the same show. It all has to do with the time travel in Ocarina of Time. I guess it has to do with peoples opinions on what would happen if you travel through time.
  6. That's the same thing that I was thinking. Most of her games are not rare just have a high demand.
  7. Yes they did make a batter to power the system and screen. Here is one of them: PS1 battery I just googled PS1 battery and it was the first thing to come up.
  8. I follow the splitist theory. There really isn't any point in listing my theory, it will only cause more controversy and negative thoughts. Maybe if I get bored later I will post it. Right now it's a beautiful day in Alaska so I'm gonna go enjoy the outside before it starts raining again.
  9. Hommy is a generaly accepted word but you don't see that in the dictionary. Maybe if we say classic hommy then they will accept it? Fingers crossed.
  10. That's funny, she got ripped off on a lot of those games. She also thinks that the Star Fox on the 2600 game has a connection with the SNES game. Apparently Frogger was made by Sega and then later Konami got ahold of it. Wow she actually found a copy of Donkey Kong for the 2600, I can't believe it. That's too funny man, good find.
  11. I'm guessing that he is talking about the big rechargable battery that goes underneath the PSone that is used to power it. That way when you have the screen attaced to it and the battery it makes it a portable console. They made these for many newer consoles.
  12. Seeing as classic gaming is just the word classic in front of gaming I don't see why they would ever consider it. That would be better suited in an urban dictionary then in Webster. Do think that if I put the word classic in front of the word farting they would accept that? Tom lifted one cheak off of the chair and ripped a huge fart. "That's some classic farting right there" Bill said. I'm guessing that you did it just as a joke, but I could be wrong.
  13. I'm glad to see that you stuck it out and finished the game. Now that you have done that your opinion of the game is even more creditable. If you thought the game was just ok then I respect that. Now more people need to follow in your footsteps and actually finish it. They might just discover why so many people love the Zelda series.
  14. Virtualy no one accepts this. Even the ultra hard core Zelda fans that have spent decades trying to cobble together a working timeline for the series, which no one, not even Shigeru Miyamoto himself, has been able to successfully do. It's a mix of just completely different Zelda games (look at the 4 swords games, or the cdi games), different Link's, and an inconsistant flow of going forwards, backwards, sideways, up and down. There is an underlying connecting story element, but don't even begin to try and make a connecting time line, because it will never come together. Just accept the series for what it is; 13 (nintendo conoles only) seperate individual games wrapped around the same common story. But by all means, if you would like, try and develop a time line for us. 10's of millions of people would sincearly appericate it. Don't forget to include the LCD & CDI games. We'll come visit you in the insane assylum wearing your homemade tingle outfit in few years. Anywho, to get back on topic. I never cared for the first few Zelda's much, I did get into it in the later games. Twilight Princess was good I thought, but honestly, to this day I say Ocarina of Time for the N64 was probably the BEST Zelda game ever. Some of the games you can tell you exactly where they are or you can easily fiugure out where they are placed in the Zelda universe. You are correct that nobody knows the exact timeline but that doesn't mean that there isn't one. The 4 swords games can easily be fit into the timeline with all the rest of the games. The CDI games you can't count because they were not made by Nintendo. Just like everybody else, I have my own theories of how the games fit together. The complexity and mystery of the Zelda games is part of what makes them so much fun. These are not simple little Atari 2600 games where the whole story could fit in one sentence. If you don't like puzzle solving then Zelda games are not for you because that's what they are all about. It's not just some simple hack & slash. I like using my brain to figure out complex puzzles, so these games have always been some of my favorites.
  15. NOTE: THIS WEEKS GAME HAS ENDED! TIME PILOT Game Info Time Pilot is an arcade style shooter. Piloting your trusty spaceship, you need to destroy the squadrons of enemy craft that are attacking! On each level you have a quota of enemies that need to be destroyed. After fulfilling your quota, a final boss of the level will appear; when destroyed, you will move on to the next level. The game begins in the year 1910, and each time a level is completed you advance in time. In 1910 you only have to face relatively unarmed biplanes, but as the levels advance so does the technology. Each new level brings with it tougher, more heavily armed aircraft including jets, helicopters, and even flying saucers! From time to time, you will encounter a parachute; if you run into this, you will earn bonus points. -This game was suggested by: ed1475 -Skill level: 1 HSC Info -Post your scores in this thread and every couple of days I will update the leaderboard. -The cutoff for posting scores will be the second Wednesday after the competition begins, at 1:00 A.M. 16. That's it for this weeks game. I hope you enjoyed playing Popeye.
  17. Vote now for the next game that you would like to play.
  18. That's good stuff. I hope that you can accomplish your goal.
  19. Atari2600.com has one for $60. You will usually pay a little more but with that you get quality and a 90 day warranty.
  20. I love the Colecovision. Some people dislike the controllers but I think they are awesome. You can always use an Atari joystick for games that only require one button and then use the second player controller for the # buttons. One issue that comes up with Colecovisions is the power supply connection. Sometimes it becomes bad and will give you a realy fuzzy picture. I cleaned off the traces on the motherboard and re-soldered the connections on mine and now the picture is crystal clear. The wall wart is huge but that's not a big deal. If you like Arcade games then the Colecovision has plenty of good ones to choose from. Some awesome games to get right away would be Lady Bug, Frenzy, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong JR, Pepper II, Defender, Mr. Do!, Centipede, Slither, Gyrus, Frogger, Popeye, H.E.R.O., Jumpman Jr, Mousetrap, Galaxian (If you don't mind spending about $30), and many many more. I also recomend getting the roller controller to play Centipede & Slither with.
  21. NOTE: THIS WEEKS GAME HAS ENDED! POPEYE Game Info Popeye is a conversion of the arcade action/platform game. As Popeye, you are trying to win Olive Oyl's love! She is at the top of the screen dropping tokens of her love, and you need to collect them before they hit the ground. After you have collected the required number of items, you can move on to the next, more difficult level. There are many obstacles trying to stop you from completing your task, though! Brutus wanders around the screen and is constantly trying to catch you. If you collect a can of spinach, you can temporarily knock him out, otherwise Brutus will knock you out. Other objects such as bottles or birds are also flying around the screen and will cause you to lose one of your lives if you are hit. Each level features a different layout of platforms and ladders, and will have you collecting different items as they float towards the bottom of the screen! -This game was suggested by: ed1475 -Skill level: 1 HSC Info -Post your scores in this thread and every couple of days I will update the leaderboard. -The cutoff for posting scores will be the second Wednesday after the competition begins, at 1:00 A.M. 22. I personally would not include Donkey Kong in this list. It has Mario in it but I consider it to be in the Donkey Kong series.
