I have one I would be willing to trade. What version of the 2600 do you have?

.

Yeah I saw some nice ones on ebay but I am just worried about their condition. I want a Vectrex in excellent condition and I'm just worried that I will get a dud on ebay. I haven't orderd it yet but if I probably will by the end of the day so if anyone on here has one they are willing to part with send me a PM.

Ok so I orderd a VecFlash and am going to order my Vectrex from Atari2600.com. Now I just have to wait for all of it to arrive. This is going to be a long week waiting for everything. I'm really excited about finally getting a Vectrex. I figured that I will narrow my collections down to the Atari 2600, Colecovision, and Vectrex. I like having a huge collection but I decided that I will collect for fewer systems and have more complete libraries of games. I sole off some of my systems already but I still have my NES/SNES/N64/Gensis/SegaCD/32X/Intellivision/Atari 7800 to sell or trade. That should be able to get me alot of games.

Thanks I am getting one for sure.

I got a Vectrex!
-
I have been looking into buying a vectrex for several years now and I finally decided that I am going to get one. I was looking on Atari2600.com and saw that they were selling one for $125. At first that seemed kinda expensive but I decided that it was safer then just buying one on ebay and hoping that it worked. It arrived in the mail today and boy was I excited to plug it in and play Mine Storm for the first time. I also orderd a VecFlash but I havn't gotten it yet. Hopefully I will get it on Monday. I think next I'm gonna spend my money on a light pen for it. I think that those games look awesome and my daughter would really get a kick out of them.

(UPDATE W/ PIC)Defender: another new obsession
theking21083 replied to theking21083's topic in Classic Console Discussion
UPDATE: As you may have already read I've been playing Defender lately. It has become my new obsession! I have done what I thought would never be possible for me to do, I have rolled the score. I took 4 pictures before the score rolled so that I could have some evidence of my accomplishment but alas the pictures are all blurry. Defender is such a fast paced game that you don't get any time to rest. After I got past 1,000,000 I very sadly just turned my game off. I would have liked to continue but unfortunatly I had other places to be. -
I just got a Colecovision a week ago and I was trying to open it so that I could mess around inside of it. I took out the 8 screws on the bottom but it seems to be attached at the front. Is their anything else that I need to do to open it up. I didn't want to just yank the cover off and break something. I would appriciate any help.

Only 5 hours left so please feel free to make your final bids. Like I said before this money is going for a good cause. I am turning it right back around and using it for Atari games.

What's with the influx of N00Bs?
theking21083 replied to Wester's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I might be new here but I'm not a scammer. I've known about AA for a few years but just never joined untill recently. I'm in the Coast Guard and was gone all the time on the boat so I just didn't have the time. Now I'm stationed in Kodiak, Alaska (you know that Island that the movie The Guardian is on) and I have lots of free time here because I'm at a land unit. But I do understand what you are getting at. -
I thought I was the only person that did this! I could only afford the chepo controllers and when the D-Pad broke off I super glued one of those Lego flag poles in the hole. It worked really well but I would have to reglue it in every once in awile.

So now I've been playing Defender all day for the Colecovision. It's another game that I used to never give the time of day because I always thought that it was hard. I started playing and after a few games of pure suckage I started to get better. I went from getting 59,950 to my new high score of 432,400. I looked it up on Twin Galaxies and it places me at #4. I definatly could have gone on longer but my dang wife called me and in the process of me answering the phone and trying to talk to her I lost 7 lives. I tried to get a picture of my score but it only displays on the TV for a few seconds and then goes back to the title screen. Next time I will have my camera ready to go. I know I said this before in my Donkey Kong high score post but why isn't their a Coleco HSC? UPDATE: since this post started I am now able to score millions of points well surpassing the #1 position on TG. below is a picture of my score after I rolled it 3 times already.

Donkey Kong on the Colecovision

I wasn't trying to get the top score I just happend to get 883,000. You don't really have to believe me cause I'm not looking for recognition I just posted my score cause I was proud of it and somebody pointed out that it was the top score. I'm sure that their are people that could easily beat my score you they just don't know just like I didn't know. I thought that their would be people with scores in the millions. If I ever feel like recording myself then i will send Twin Galaxies a tape but so far I've come close but have never gotten to that score again. I can easily get in the 700,000 point range and get in the 800,000 every few games. Like I said I'm not looking to get any recognition I was just hoping to get some people playing so that we can all have some fun playing Donkey Kong. I'm pretty sure that's what we are all here for. What do you say people bust out your copies of DK and see what you are made of! -
Donkey Kong on the Colecovision

Nice playing! Yeah I too have found the game really easy. It seems like it ends up becoming a tedious marathon session where if you die it's because of carelessness or a stupid mistake, rather than a lapse in strategy. BTW, how many hours in total did it take you to get to your score? Total play time until I got that score was probably 16 hours spread over 2 days but I got that game probably lasted around an hour give or take. My wife is working tonight so I'm gonna make sure the kids are in bed early and marathon most of the night. -

Yeah I find that I only die when someone comes is talking to me (my wife) or running in front of me (my kids) or just for some stupid carless reason. I love using a controller with the roller controller for this game. The controls are so much better and it feels more like the arcade. To get my score of 883,000 it didn't take too long maybe an hour. I played it on skill level 1 today to see how far I could get and I got 4,875,100. I think I could have dont better but my wife kept yelling at me to stop playing and mow the yard so I got distracted and rushed. That game probably took me 2 hours I guess. I think the game actually gets easier as you progress. The difficulty planes off after a certain point but your bonus points increase by 1,000 every time you get to the barrel stage. Eventually you are getting 20,000+ points each stage. The only real difference between skill 1 and 4 is that skill 4 starts out harder and you only get 3 lives. I do think that this is my favorite game on the Colecovision and I wish their was a highscore club for me to compete in. If anyone else wants to try and compete against me start playing and posting your scores so we can find a champ. I know their probably isn't as many Colecovision fans here but I vote to start a Coleco HSC. -
Donkey Kong on the Colecovision

You serious I didn't think I was anywhere near the world record. I thought it was actually easy even on skill 4. Unfortunatly the score resets every 100,000 points so I really can't take a picture with a camera. I will have to try and video tape me playing I guess. I thought that maybe I would be in the top 50 but that's all. I'll have to check out that site so I can compare some other games scores that I have. -
I've been playing Donkey Kong for the past 2 days and I found out that I really like this game. Now I'm obsessing over it. I never used to enjoy it but recently I got a Colecovision and I thought I would give this game a chance. So far my high score is 883,000 on skill level 4. I don't know where that would stack up compared to others scores but I was proud of it. If anyone else has a high score post it so that I can compare mine to others. I'm just starting to build up my Colecovision collection because now that I got one It has shot up to my #1 favorite system pushing the Atari 2600 to #2 and followed by NES at #3. I would really like to see a HSC for the Colecovision that would be awesome! So if any of you Colecovision fans out their have their high scores recorded please post them.
