Is there anything that you can pick up at a store like Wal-Mart that would be good to lubricate a joystick? I just got a control panel and I took apart the joystick and cleaned off all of the old nasty grease but now I need to put something else on it to make the joystick move a little smoother. I would appriciate any suggestions.

I agree with you. When I had my Lynx I used to love playing Kung Food. My only complaint is that sometimes the colision detection is off. Other then that I found it to be a very fun game. It got more playtime then most of my Lynx games.

Some of her stupidity is massively overhyped in the media here though. E.G. despite everyone making fun of it, you can _really_ see Russia from Alaska. I live there, I know.

Genesis hardware recomendations?
theking21083 replied to Reaperman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
yeah, I stopped in sega-16 for a second opinion, but again I find myself putting too much time into this. A genesis is a genesis, and I should enjoy it. At most I'll shoot it over here for 'the works' special, I think. It's easy, and after pricing digikey--not terribly expensive at all. If I have to plug in through a vcr (good tip, I wasn't even thinking that way) there's little point in modding above composite. I really do like my micro machines--but why do I have to make such poor purchases? Now I probably need 2 extra mods... curse codemasters for being so awesome. I'm curious to know. Did you try plugging it into a VCR yet? If so did it solve the issue you had? -
Game Boy Advance Emulator For DS
theking21083 replied to Bowser N64's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have one question for you Bowser N64. You do know that Bowser isn't a dragon? Just thought that I would ask since you seem to have a liking for dragons. Um, did you know that he IS? He breathes fire, he has scales. I used my imagination. Also just FYI, most fan pictures of Bowser have a dragonlike appearance... There's no SURE way of knowing. One must use imagination and decide for theirselves. I decide he is. I guess I should try to stay on topic even if this thread makes me scratch my head in wonder. All I have to say is that if you want to play GBA games then you should go buy them. It's not like it's old technology that you can't find anymore. I still see plenty of GBA games still selling at the store. If you lost your game then sucks for you, I guess you should keep track of your stuff better. Why we are at it does anybody know of a DS emulator for the DS? I lost all of my DS games and can't be bothered to track them down or buy new ones. PS Who is going to tell all of those Koopa Troopas the news that they are really just prepubescent dragons with turtle shells? -

I don't know if this will help but it is certanly worth a try. Hook you Genesis up to a VCR and then run your VCR into your projector. I know that this solves a problem that TV Tuners have with the Genesis and SMS. Again I'm not sure if this will solve your problem so don't hate me if it doesn't work. -
Zelda Outlands - Help, Walkthroughs & Tips
theking21083 replied to BugsBunny2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Zelda Outlands is a homebrew/hack so it is not listed on that site. All I could tell you is to do a google search and hope for the best. It's not a game that many people own so if there is a guide then you might have some trouble finding it. -
SOLD Anymore I only use my PS2 to play PS1 games. I decided that I should just sell my PS2 and games and use that money to get me a PS1. I bought my PS2 back in 2002 so it is the original model. I have taken very good care of it and it still works very good. It comes with all of the hookups, 9 games, 2 memory cards, and 2 dualshock 2 controllers. The games are in used but working condition and all include the case and instructions. I can only take PayPal (prefered) or a US Postal Money order for payment. If you have a good working PS1 (any model) for trade then I will also take that and drop the price according to what all is included. Let me know what you have and we can work out a deal. $75 + shipping for: PS2 w/ hookups (Model 1) 2 Dualshock 2 controllers 2 memory cards Onimusha Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits The Simpsons Hit & Run Twisted Metal: Black Red Faction Medal of Honor Frontline Time Splitters 2 Evil Dead A fistful of Boomstick Barbie Horse Adventures (This is my daughters and is a very fun kids game that even I play from time to time)

NES Micro Machines won't work
theking21083 replied to atarilovesyou's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Like I said before Micro Machines with the switch on the back is Unlicenced and will not work on the NES toaster. The top loader does not have a lockout chip in it so any unlicenced game will work. If you want to play it on the toaster you must disable the lockout chip. Here is a link to Nintendoage that shows that it is an unlicenced game. -
Why no Donkey Kong 3 for consoles?
theking21083 replied to Rik's topic in Classic Console Discussion
So if I go to the store and buy a lemon creme pie, open the box and find a pizza, I shouldn't be upset, I should still be happy because pizza is good too? From day one everywho who hated the game from players to reviewers hated it for the same reason: It was branded to be something it's not and not what anyone expected. Does it make the game any less fun (again subjective since it's hardly the most fun shooter out there); Yes, it does, because it has to overcome the extreme disappointed it created. If I'm expecting lemon creme, and it tastes like pizza, I'm spitting it out, not because I don't like pizza, but because it's not what I expected nor wanted. Maybe if you actually went out and bought a DK3 arcade when they first came out then you might have the right to be upset. But then that would be stupid to spend that kind of cash on a machine that you have never seen before and know nothing about. The problem with what you said is that you didn't buy the machine you just put a quarter in it. It's not like it really set you back a fortune to try the game. Nobody even forced you to put a quarter in anyways. You could have seen from the attract mode what the game was about. -
Why no Donkey Kong 3 for consoles?
theking21083 replied to Rik's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have no problem with people that dislike the game, most people do. The only problem that I have is the reasoning that is always givin for disliking the game. If you say that you don't like DK3 because you don't like shooters then that is fine. If you say you don't like DK3 because it's too hard then that is fine. If you say that you don't like DK3 because DK scares you then that is fine. It's when people say that they don't like DK3 because it's not a platform game like the rest and they are scared of changes. That's when it's not fine. Who cares if it has DK in it instead of some big bug, does that make the game less fun? Why don't you just say that you don't like it because the Marquee has too much red in it? You want to argue that the story doesn't make sense but you fail to realise that most arcade games don't have stories or their stories don't make much sense either. You ask why DK would want to be in a greenhouse well there could be many explanations. It could be that he is stuck in the city and the greenhouse is the closest thing to his natural inviroment that he can fine. -
Why no Donkey Kong 3 for consoles?
theking21083 replied to Rik's topic in Classic Console Discussion
No, because Star Fox Adventures is called Star Fox Adventures. The problem is that fans of Donkey Kong and Jr would be more likely to have liked Mario Bros. than DK 3. Thus, there's no good reason to call it DK3. They could have called it "Donkey Kong's Greenhouse" or "Donkey Kong: Bug Blasters" or "Donkeypede." It's not like the other games, so it shouldn't be called third in the series. That's the entire problem. It sets people up to expect a platformer and then disappoints them with a shooter. I like Galaga and Xevious more than DK, so I'm cool with it, but no one should be surprised that it doesn't seem pleasing to a lot of Donkey Kong fans that this game is from an entirely different genre from what they were led to expect. All I can say is boo hoo. If that is the only reason for hating the game then I feel sorry for you. -
Why no Donkey Kong 3 for consoles?
theking21083 replied to Rik's topic in Classic Console Discussion
That's exactly what makes it a bad game. It has nothing to do with what Donkey Kong was about. It's not even Mario anymore, but Stanley the exterminator. If they wanted to make something different, then they should have called it something different like "Bee Shoot" or "Greenhouse" rather then try to cash in the DK popularity. Is Donkey Kong even relevent to the game. Could have just as easily been a giant beehive or giant queen bee. When I play, the feeling I get is that it started out like that, didn't sell, so they changed the queen bee to Donkey Kong and renamed it DK3. Ok so Mario isn't in it but is that what really breaks the game for you. The game is called Donkey Kong 3not Mario 3. If you remember Mario stared in the spinoff game that was released the same year as Donkey Kong 3. You might remember that it went by a name of Mario Bros. Can you name 1 thing gameplay wise that makes this game bad? Everything about it is fun and it has a lot of variety to the levels. There are several different ways that you can play the game. As you start to get a few levels in you stop trying to shoot DK up the top and focus on killing all of the bugs. Your reasoning for hating the game is a complete fail. -

Why no Donkey Kong 3 for consoles?
theking21083 replied to Rik's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I just recently started a thread in the arcade forum about DK3. I always love it and just recently bought a DK3 board for my DK arcade cab. I have always wished that it was released on more consoles but it just never happened. I don't understand why this game gets so much hatred towards it, it's not like it's a bad game. Just because it is different DK and DK Jr doesn't make it a bad game. Instead of just being a pure platform game, it's now a shooter like Galaga only with some platform elements. I have even met many people that have never played or even heard of DK3. -
I'm guessing that the reasoning for not including Mario in DK3 is because he had his own spinoff game that came out that same year. I don't really see the need to include Mario in every DK game to make it fun. I mean the game is called Donkey Kong. I guess I see it different the most people. The way I picture the story going is that after the events of DK Jr, Mario called the carpenter business quits and decided to become a plumber and clean up the sewers with his brother. Donkey Kong went his own way and stumbled upon a Greenhouse that he wanted to take for his own. Stanly the keeper of this Greenhouse had to protect what was his and rid that stubborn ape from his property. Although DK3 is primarily a shooter it does still have a platform element. DK3 is a unique genre that I don't think has been reproduced. You mix that with all of the crazyness that is going on and it makes one good game. I just think that a lot of people are missing out on a really fun game just because they can't get over the fact that DK3 is not DK.

Genesis hardware recomendations?
theking21083 replied to Reaperman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Nope, sure isn't. -
So I got my DK3 board in yesterday. This is my first time playing it on an actual arcade. I've only ever played the NES and MAME version. As much as I loved DK3 before, I love it way more now. When you play it on the arcade with the arcade control panel it just really improves on the gameplay. I have reached a new high score of 256,800 (Marathon Settings) and died on board 17. As I mentioned before, I am still in the process of converting the outside of my cab to make it a DK cab but now am considering converting it into a DK3 cab. I really like the artwork for DK3 and enjoy the game just as much as DK.
