  2. I have a few computer magazines from the early to mid 80s that someone out there may be interested in. I'd like to just sell them all together, but I'll take offers on individual issues. I'll consider trades, but there is nothing out there that I'm really looking for, and I just unloaded all of my classic gaming consoles. I may be interested in Blu-Ray movies or PS3 titles. The magazines look to be in pretty good condition based on their age. I did notice a little writing on the spines of a couple of the Home Computer Magazines. Feel free to make any offers. They are pretty heavy magazines so I'm a little unsure about shipping at this point, but I should be able to ship them media mail.

  5. 1st -- 6 month old 360 got RROD so I sent it back for repair

2nd -- MS sent back original unit but it still had RROD right out of the repair box

3rd -- MS Sent me a new power supply and that must have been the problem

4th -- When unit was about a year old RROD again and they sent me another unit

5th -- Right now about 6 months after last incident the drive makes a really loud high pitch noise. It's not your normal loud drive noise; it's really annoying. It doesn't do it all the time but enough for me to call and have them send me a box again. I think it's a sign that the disc drive maybe dying.

I really like the system and the games for it but of all the consoles I've owned from the 2600 up to the Wii and PS3, I've never had problems like with the 360. It's getting to the point where, if possible, I buy the PS3 version. I just got The Club last night and since my 360 will be leaving soon, I got the PS3 version.

  6. But since I have the other 3 GH games for the PS2, I figured that, hopefully, I should be able to use them on the PS3 with the new PS3 wireless guitar.

You would really think so, but apparently that's not the case...

...while the PS3 is backward compatible and can technically run the first two PS2 Guitar Hero games, the new PS3 Les Paul controller won't work with those games.

Wow! That sucks! Maybe I should just stick with the good old PS2 version. I'll probably still get the PS3 version.

  7. Nobody getting it for the PS3? That's the version I'm getting. First of all, my Xbox 360 had developed the red ring of death for the 2nd time and I'm so pissed about it that I sometimes wonder why I would buy something else for the 360. But since I have the other 3 GH games for the PS2, I figured that, hopefully, I should be able to use them on the PS3 with the new PS3 wireless guitar.

  8. Don't be pissed at all...

Your extended warranty will cover everything, for instance, I've sent a 360 back because it would freeze up playing PDZ and I've sent a 360 back for a blown ethernet NIC. In both cases it cost me zero $ to fix (except the $30 a year for the warranty) and I had my 360 back promptly....Neither one of those issues is related to the red ring.

It's worth it to keep your extended warranty even in light of the 3 years for the red-ring of Death warrenty news, a lot more can go wrong with a high tech machine like the 360 than the red-ring. So chin up.

    Good point! Thanks!

  9. Two days before Microsoft announced that they were extending the warranty for 3 years for their Red Ring of Death problem, I called them and bought the 2 year extended warranty for $60. I did this because my 1 year warranty was just about up and I had a horrible time with the Red Ring of Death back in Feb. Now I feel really ripped off! Any advice? Should I just keep it? Can I cancel? Will it extend it to 5 years? I guess I should just call, but I just had to vent a little.

  10. I picked these up today, and I figured maybe someone here would be interested before I list them on Ebay. I haven't tested them because my 2600 is in storage. There is silver marker on the sides of the carts. I'd like $25 for Up 'n Down shipped within the US in a bubble mailer. If I don't get any takers on the Up 'n Down by 7 pm EST on 6/6, I will put it up on Ebay. I would like to get $15 for Pitfall 2 shipped in a bubble mailer, but feel free to make offers as well.
