  1. The Atari 7800 model of Redemption is not designed to work with the Atari 2600 controllers, because of a variance in how the fire buttons are set up. That's why we had to make two separate models, unfortunately With that said, some games might work, but we can't guarantee it. The model of Redemption should really only be used with the type of joysticks it supports. (2600/Genesis for the 2600 model, 7800 for the 7800 model, and PC for the PC model). Glad you like it Joe
  2. This has nothing to do with the version sold in the AA store. Do a search on the forums and you'll see why this thread is still active. Joe
  3. I found a similar e-mail that he had sent to me on October 31. I've gotten pretty good at waiting, so I guess I'll wait some more Joe
  4. Of course! Even if he sent it to the old address, I still know people that live there and none of them are into videogames
  5. Yup, still waiting. Jah also now owes me for an eBay auction I had up last week (for the red Atari hat) but I haven't heard from him recently Jah told me two weeks ago that the package he owed me would be going out "that Monday". He just didn't say which "that Monday" it was. So I'll keep twiddling my thumbs. Joe
  6. I don't know if Redemption exhibits the same problems at the Masterplay interface (I don't have one), but Redemption (2600 and 7800 editions) basically takes the "digital" signals from the stick and converts them into resistances to feed into the 5200. Without looking at my notes, 250kohm is the center potision (resistance) for both X and Y position. 0ohm would be left (or down) and 500kohm would be right (or up). Don't quote me on the actual positions, though, it's too early in the morning. The resistances are "hard coded" into Redemption. Joe
  7. Well... Just a few times... I picked up my brother at the airport dressed like that, and no one batted an eye (I'm from Boston). Joe
  8. If you only knew who that guy was.... Joe

  10. There were many excellent labels to choose from, and it just happens that we (AtariAge and Pixels Past) decided on one that we enjoyed the most and felt that it suited the product best. This doesn't mean that you can't print out your own favorite label and stick it on the case to have your own "custom" version. Joe
  11. Congratulations to Matthew and thanks again to everyone who submitted labels! Joe
  12. Yup, the contest is over, but Albert still needs to post the final submissions (I think he's having trouble with his PC). I appreciate all of the awesome submissions for the contest! They were way cooler than I could have imagined (or drawn myself). I hope everyone had fun. Stay tuned for more! Joe
  13. Maybe you could team up with someone on the forum that is and split the booty! Joe
  14. Someone also asked me privately if the "Pixels Past" text in the logo can be moved underneath the graphic (to be more consistent with the AtariAge logo). And yes, you can do that Joe
  15. Cool labels so far, guys! One suggestion I might make... I noticed a lot of the labels have the 5200 controller predominant on the label. The whole point of the Redemption is to AVOID using the 5200 controller and allow you to use other controllers. So, if I was making a label (if I could figure out Photoshop - haha) I'd feature the stick (or some sort of likeness) that is used (e.g., 2600, 7800, etc.). Keep sending them in! Joe PS - We can't say which we like the best right now - the contest isn't over
  16. Still waiting for my stuff.. But Jah had a bunch of trade bait to put in the package, too, so I'll give it a few more days... Joe
  17. The 7800 version of Redemption supports both fire buttons on the 7800 controller. If you use another controller that is completely compatible with a 7800 stick, then it should work fine. There are just too many varieties to test each one, so we just designed it around the stock Atari controllers. Lots and lots of clone/third-party controllers exist. For the PC model, it was designed to support the analog control of a PC controller. That's why the versions with trimmers are necessary - to adjust and "center" the PC stick to work on the 5200. Some PC sticks aren't really analog and really just convert to a few fixed positions - those versions will not work with Redemption, since they aren't true analog. Hope that helps, Joe
  18. Yes sir - the START button is still required on the 5200 controller.
  19. I'd love to buy a response to my e-mails and phone calls. But oh, wait, he isn't selling them! Joe
  20. I do want to let people know that the Redemption 5200 product has been done for nearly 2 months - we sold a few at AGE for those lucky enough to attend However, we were waiting for someone to design a label for us, and that basically fell through. Without a label, it looks kind of naked. So, as soon as we get that done, AtariAge will start shipping them! Soon! I promise! Joe
  21. You are still the reigning champion, Mr. Twinkie. But, maybe not for long. I will let slip an upcoming SCSIcide High Score contest on AA, so lube up your paddles and start practicing! Joe
  22. Found more stuff while cleaning out my rooms. I have a set of 7 Atari envelopes. They're all unused. See the attached picture (if it actually worked). If anyone is interested in trading, buying, whatever, let me know and make me an offer. Come on, CPUWIZ, I know you want it! Joe
  23. Also, don't forget to use the required 9-pin null modem adapter, or it won't work at all. See the readme.txt for more details Joe
