I've managed to dump my Centipede cartridge; pretty sure the dump was successful. However, the ROM appears to be different to the one on this site; I'm not a Centipede fan, but one difference I can see immediately is that the copyright notice in mine is white, whereas it's purple in the version on this site. I'm in PAL-land. Afraid I can't attach the dump as my system is having problems (due to me updating KDE), but I've uploaded it to my site: http://tim32.org/~muzer/CENTIPEDE.a26 EDIT: Combat, too (and I have two of these): http://tim32.org/~muzer/combat.a26

Is there a list somewhere of which mappers/bank-switching techniques are in use by which games? Or is there an emulator that tells you?

Hello, After noticing the incredibly easy NTSC S-Video mod as detailed here, I was wondering if a similar thing was possible on the PAL 2600 Jr, or are all those components I've seen used in the various other mods required?

Activision proto found with system bought off ebay, need identification

On an ebay auction listed above, it has prototype in the description, so I doubt they'll scan pictures if they don't scan descriptions -

Not that I'm going to do it yet, but which hardware would I need and how much would it cost to dump 2600 roms? -

As I said, I can't quite remember. And as I said, you'll have to wait till Christmas. And I haven't yet decided if I will sell it or not. If I do I'll rpobably put it on ebay with a reserve, although I will post the link here. -

Sorry for double post, but could it have been this? -

Why not exactly? (I wasn't gonna sell it, btw) Hey, looking at the picture, there were actually two proto carts. Hmm... -

That was just a screenie off the internet. I have no way of taking screenshots until Christmas, lol! (Not to do with the 2600, just I'm also getting a PC TV tuner so I can have it on the TV. Knowing me, I'll probably forget.) So you'd better be prepared to wait. -

Yeah, it's pitfall. See my edit in the above post. Any idea how much a proto would be worth? -

I'll google for some screenshots and check. Any idea of the value of a proto? EDIT: Judging by screenshots and my sudden remembering of the copyright date (1982), it's pitfall. Although I have no way to verify this until Christmas, I think the first hole was actually rounded in my proto. I might be wrong but I seem to remember. -
I'm a complete newb to 2600s, as I've only just bought mine. I'm not playing it until Christmas, however. Anyway, with the 2600 that I bought, I just wanted to plug it in and test it, everything worked fine (well, I couldn't test the second paddle controller because I have no games that use it), but I noticed a game with a red label with Activision PROTOTYPE written on it in white letters. Upon starting, I get a man who I cam move and I can make him fall down holes and then climb up ladders in the holes. It's a completely side-on view. When you reach the top, you must press the button to climb up out of it. Anyone know what this game is (if it was released), and if it's worth anything in prototype form? I stupidly forgot to look at the copyright date (it did have one in the bottom left that was replaced with the activision logo in a scrolling fashion) and have put it away now. Oh, and if you think you know what the game is, could you post a screenshot so I can confirm? (If not that's fine)

They are Lynx 2s, right? If so, could you send me the speaker out of one of them (it's just a simple clip, oh and if you can make sure it works first). I'll pay for the postage (to the UK) if you want me to, though I can't imagine it'll be that much. We can PM each other after you confirm. You are in the US I assume?

Sorry for the double post, but it won't show as a new post otherwise. Do Lynx 1 speakers work in the 2? -
Weird, and possibly unique, sound problem with my Lynx 2
Muzer replied to Muzer's topic in Atari Lynx
Ah, good (about the fact that it's not a capacitor or something). Strange, I didn't find any hits on google. Didn't think to do a froum search, really. EDIT: I assume the Lynx uses a 9V speaker (6 batteries), that is if speakers even have voltages, I'm a noob at this stuff. -
Hi guys! I got a Lynx from gamestation, and I was playing with it for a bit, but since I only have one game (pinball jam), I got bored and turned it off. I have one of these multi-voltage DC chargers, and I plugged it into that, set to 9V, and left it in. However, I must have kicked it or something, because the next time I wanted to play on it, the charger was on 12V. I frantically unplugged it and turned it on to see if it was alright. It was, however there was a weird problem that, from searches, seems to be unique. The sound (built-in only, the headphone sound is fine) is REALLY quiet, like no form of amplification is being used at all. This is OK in a quiet environment, or with headphones, but it's impossible to hear in a (relatively) noisy environment where before the speaker would have sufficed. This as far as I can see hasn't affected anything else. So yeah, does anyone know what the problem is, and how I would fix it? (Don't just say "use headphones" or "use an external amp", since that would be a pain to use on-the-go, and it doesn't help that I HATE all types of small headphones, I can never get them to stay in (my ears must be too small, I dunno), and can only use the clip-on ones or the over-the-head ones.
