OMG! DiCaprio to star as Nolan Bushnell!
Tom_Explodes replied to Gregory DG's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Eh, I would have said Jamie Fox was the wrong guy to play Ray Charles until after I saw Ray. Regardless, how an actor looks is really not relevant at all to how well they can handle a role. Stop being hung up on cosmetics and wait for the damn movie. -
Nice lil 7800 price shipped $35 w/8 games - Not Mine
Tom_Explodes replied to Phantom's topic in Auction Central
Man, I have got to stop posting when I'm in a bad mood. I sound like an asshole. Totally not what I was going for. I was just worried about someone getting ripped off, not trying to be a jackass. -

Tom_Explodes replied to Phantom's topic in Auction Central
Okay, I imagine someone got ripped. It clearly states, despite that "everything for sale" bit, that the item for sale is Mario Bros. The name of the auction is Mario Bros, it goes on and on about Mario Bros, Mario Bros, Mario Bros. I think he just threw in "all this is for sale", probably in his other auctions, but whatever. I'm willing to bet someone wasted their money. -

Actually, according to the info, that's just for the game Mario Bros. Lame. -

Confessions from an almost stupid mistake..
Tom_Explodes replied to classicgamingguy's topic in Atari 2600
Yeah, I do the exact same thing. My attention span jumps from thing to thing. It's why I haven't finished a decent game in AGS, The Games Factory, Klik N Play, or any of the other game maker majiggers in forever. I keep jumping from thing to thing. I didn't frequent this site or even think about atari for a couple months not too long ago, then I got my copy of Tooth Protectors and it all came crashing back. -
HOLY *&%$ Look at what I just won!

I can't stop eating this delicious ooze! Back on topic, that's friggin sweet! Congrats! -
Hmm. Maybe I'll hold off on one for awhile, looks like it generally goes for over 100, and rare or not, I'm not really all that willing to drop a hundred bucks or more on something like that. Ah well.
-
How much do these generally go for? I'm thinking about getting one.

F/S:A/V Modded Colecovision and more!
Tom_Explodes replied to jboypacman's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Graaaaaaaah. Missed out on a great buy. Ah well. I suppose I can always get one for an absurd price off ebay. -
Here's the place to do it: http://postcalc.usps.gov/

Spreading the love! Free game (with a catch) !
Tom_Explodes replied to Red 5's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Sure, I'll do that. Assuming shadow wants a colecovision cart. Or should I let that go to someone else? EDIT: Having mistakenly seen what the M-Network cart is, I will not be taking it, because I already have a copy of that game. Shadow has first dibs on the colecovision cart, but if he doesn't want it, I'll let you guys know. EDIT: Shadow doesn't want it. Anyone does, shoot me a PM. -

I'd like to do this as well. I'll grab something I want when it comes along, perhaps. IF this is acceptable anyway. All I have to offer right now is a labelless Colecovision game. For the system, not a Coleco 2600 cart. I have no way of knowing what it is or if it even works, though I got it from a place that's pretty reliable generally. I can't guarantee it's anything good, but I'm up for it if that's cool. -
Frankly it seems like the bandwagon has switched, since it was pointed out. If you don't like E.T., you're jumping on the internet negative bandwagon. If you do like E.T., you're an enlightened individual. It's like there's several eras of this whole thing. When the game came out and what people thought of it, which we have a handful of people here that both liked it and disliked it, like any other game. Then we've got the whole "worst game ever made" internet hype and the whole burial site and what have you. Then of course there's this new, chic "I like E.T. stfu noobs" thing, and then we've got the other group of "well I hate E.T. because I hate it and it's lame, not because they told me to." Frankly (again), if you're going to like a game, do it. If not, don't. If someone disagrees with you, who cares? Atari is a hobby, not a religion. I'm tired of hearing about it, honestly.

Pitfall II -- Rhonda was the "beginning of the end"?
Tom_Explodes replied to Propane13's topic in Atari 2600
Lots of games end before that! When you die... right? -
In my experience, atari stuff is built like tanks

Nope. Is that bad? -

Oh, I'm sure I'm doing SOMETHING wrong. Haha. Honestly, 2 of the cx-40s were left in a drawer for 15 years, the other two my friend gave me from his damp crawlspace where they lay for 10 years. I'm not that shocked they suddenly don't work. The tac-2 had electrical tape around part when I got it from ebay. It worked for awhile, then stopped. The reason I have to keep "resoldering" the power jack is because it became loose after 20 odd years of on-off playing, and then I heated the solder and held it in place until it stopped wiggling. I haven't actually put any new solder on it. Haha. The flashback 2 controllers, however, I have NO idea what happened. They just stopped working one day. I try and take pretty good care of my stuff, but maybe it's not good enough. Who knows? -
