  1. I've had good dealings with bones as well.
  2. ...made of ceramic. I had 4 cx-40s. They're all dead. I had a tac-2. It's dead. I had 2 flashback 2 controllers. They're dead. I had a vader console. It's dead. I have a woodgrain light sixer. It's alive, but I keep having to resolder the power jack. I have a 5200. It magically won't do channel 2 anymore. I have 2 cx-52 controllers. They work, but, well... you know. I'm currently using a sega genesis controller. I finally have another set of working paddles, thanks to the.golden.ax, and hopefully I will have 2 working joysticks thanks to him soon as well. Which is fine. But seriously, this is getting ridiculous. Has anyone else had so much trouble? I imagine there's worse, but it's just so irritating.
  3. Hey, sorry if I sounded overly critical. It's really not a bad story by any means. I was trying to be constructive and helpful, not work bashing or ego stomping. I'm a writer myself, so I look at stuff from that stand point. Just wanted to say. Keep it up.
  4. I'm a fan of Joust and Space Invaders, as I'm a big coop fan. I also like Demon Attack, it's got a great coop mode where you switch players every few seconds. Dragonfire is fun to play, though the two player is more hot seat.
  5. Good to know, I guess? I thought I was going nuts looking for it.
  6. It sort of trails as an introduction and becomes more of a narrative piece. If that's what you're going for, that's cool, but I think it's a bit long as far as that goes. I'd get bored reading it if I was still a kid, I think. Other than that, it's humorous and well written.
  7. Yeah man, hands down the best game on Stella's Stocking. It's a blast. Thanks for making it!
  8. Thanks for all the replies, folks! I'm keeping a list of which games are coop so I know what to get once I actually buy myself a 7800. I love coop play.
  9. My girlfriend's brother has a bunch of old atari stuff, including a booster grip. If I need one I can snag it from him. Teehee.
  10. The thing is, I have several controllers (a sega genesis 3 button, a cx-40, 2 driving controllers and a set of paddles) that always work. The other controllers have the same problems in my flashback 2 as well. How I managed to have such terrible luck, I dunno. Haha. I'm working on a trade with the.golden.ax that should solve my problems. Also, I'm gonna buy a set of wireless controllers from atari2600.com as soon as I get my first paycheck, which, since I seem to suck with cords, should REALLY solve my problems.
  11. Video card, 60 gig hard drive and games all on hold. I have left Broken vader. A TAC-2 joystick with some cosmetic damage (wrong screws that were too long nearly broke through the top) and possible non-working wire from a CX-40, a set of paddles with some cosmetic damage (one is chipped, the other is missing the top wheelie-ma-gig, but I've replaced it with a wooden one) and one non-working button for reasons unknown to me, 2 (afaik) non-working atari flashback 2 controllers. A 20.5 GB hard drive and a 2GB hard drive
  12. But perhaps someone else can. I have here: 2 or 3 original CX-40 joysticks that have cracked plastic on the inside white stick and some with probable breaks in the wire somewhere, a vader style console that is missing the channel switch and has a bit of solder on it. I can't get a picture to come in, but that's the only problem I'm aware of. I don't have an RF cable or an AC adapter for it anymore. Also can throw in a couple of dupes I have that probably no one wants, but maybe someone can just use the carts or something. Asteroids, Combat, E.T. and Pac-Man On to non-atari related things: I have a working, but not useful to me, Geforce FX 5200 AGP card with 128 megs of ram, and a couple hard drives ranging from 2 to 60 gigs. Old junk, I know, but maybe someone else has a use for them. That's about it, I guess. If anyone is interested in any of this crap, lemme know. No guarantee any of it (the atari stuff at least) works, blah dee blah, at own risk, yar, etc. I will say that I think most of it shouldn't be terribly hard to fix for someone with some mechanical/electronic knowledge, I just haven't got it myself. I'll be happy to take pictures of any of it anyone wants to see, I'm just posting this before I go to bed, so lemme know and I'll do it tomorrow. In exchange, I guess I'm just looking for one or two TAC-2 joysticks, and maybe some money towards the shipping, if that all sounds reasonable. If it doesn't, tell me so. I'll be the first to point out my own relative newbishness. Thanks for your interest, hopefully someone has a use for this stuff. I don't want to throw it away. - Tom EDIT: Thought I'd chuck my 2600 games want list on the end here in case it's helpful. Feel free to ignore it, though. 13. Anybody have a list of all the coop games for the 7800? By which I mean, non-competetive (or at least not only, games like Joust where it's optional are okay) and not games where 2 players switch off each turn?
  14. I rescind pretty much everything I said. The guy sounds like a flaming douche.
  15. Yeah, that's what I'm gonna end up doing until I get some money. Selling Tooth Protectors seems more of a viable option every few minutes. Grr.
  16. This gets more and more irritating by the minute. I had 4, count them, 4 working standard atari joysticks, a TAC-2, and 2 flashback 2 joysticks. First, the flashback 2 joysticks stopped working at pretty much the same time. Kaput. Nothing. Then slowly my original aari joysticks have stopped working. I have one that isn't broken inside and doesn't have broken wires somewhere. Now my TAC-2 that I got off ebay for around 5 dollars, no longer works. I even rewired the stupid thing. No dice. I either can't go up/right (sometimes either, sometimes both, sometimes neither) or my buttons do nothing, or some combination thereof. I know I didn't completely muck up rewiring because initially it DID work afterwards. Now, nothing. I also managed to put 2 screws through the top of the case in a fit of rage. How, I have no idea. Didn't mean to. So I have one original atari joystick. Tra-la-LALALA. Thank you, this rant was brought to you by Ranty McGee.
  17. If my girlfriend ever gives me a woodgrain sixer, rest assured that I'll be on here posting "My girlfriend gave me a woody"
  18. Mine says 121, so I'm curious about this too.
  19. My girlfriend grabbed me a handful of games from 25 cents to a buck apiece from a garage sale. Armor Ambush Basketball Commando Maze Craze Super Breakout (Sears Telegames version) I had Armor Ambush awhile back but I traded it to someone. I also already had Super Breakout, the Atari version, but I like label/company variations for some reason. Maze Craze is my favorite of the bunch thus far. I love the random maze each time. Is it like a seeded number thing or is it actually a fresh, random maze each time? I can't really tell. I like the catch all the bad guys variation best. I love my girlfriend.
  20. ...ahahahahhaha. That struck me hilarious. But seriously, no worries. If you'd seen me, you'd know. A 5 year old girl with no arms could beat me up.
  21. I got Tanks But No Tanks (albeit with no label), Strategy X and now Tooth Protectors from a local used games store out here.
  22. Yeah... I was going to use it on my 486 to play some old DOS games at the proper speed without DOSBOX tweaking, but while I was tinkering with the machine, the hard drive died on me. Irritating. I can't find my damn DOS 6.2 boot disks, either.
  23. I got a job. No longer in such desperate need of cash. Thanks to all who expressed interest, though.
  24. Yeah, it's more top-down action and doesn't really count as a platform game.
