  1. I was just wondering if this was still going to happen or not?
  2. I want it. How soon till we see a cartridge release of this one?

    H2

Please put me down for one as well.
  4. I would take both Tank Command & Waterskiing if make them. i would also take the box for at least Tank Command if it does not add that much more to the price. Just let me know where to send the money.
  5. Any suggestions on where to find them at "reasonable" prices?
  6. I am looking for the following titles at reasonable prices to help complete my 7800 collection. Loose carts with no box or manual is fine. Ace of Aces Basketbrawl Commando Crack'ed Desert Falcon Dig Dug Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Junior Double Dragon F-18 Hornet Fatal Run Ikari Warriors Impossible Mission Kung-Fu Master Mario Bros. Mat Mania Challenge Mean 18 Ultimate Golf Midnight Mutants Motor Psycho Ninja Golf Pete Rose Baseball Planet Smashers Rampage Scrapyard Dog Sentinel Summer Games Super Huey Super Skateboardin' Tank Command Tomcat: The F-14 Fighter Simulator Tower Toppler Water Ski Winter Games Xenophobe
  7. Got mine Friday and even though it is 30 years late... I finally have it and it was a blast to play. I am with Albert though, I like the joystick better than the trackball support.

    5200 Tempest

Ordered mine to make sure that I was locked in for the boxed copy. What exactly is the Space Rocks you are taking about above? Did I miss something??
  9. Any idea when you might know if there are going to be any additional copies from those that might have backed out?

    5200 Tempest

I would fully support that. The 5200 has always needed some sort of a hockey game. Would even settle for a version of HatTrick for the 5200 or an Air Hockey type game at this point.
  11. I will buy a copy as well. I suspect however that this cartridge isnt' going to exactly be cheap given the technology that you are describing. Could you give us an estimate of what you beleive the cost will be with shipping inside of the US?
  12. I too would be happy to purchase a cartridge when completed!
  13. I was looking at the number of 800 carts that were released and there are a number of other games that would make excellent conversions. I sure would like to see Blue Max, Picnic Paranoia, Slime, Seafox, Protector II, Zepplin, and Major League Hockey. (Major League Hockey is a good choice seeing we have no hockey game for this system) (A lot of these games are from Synapse and I do think that at least Picnic Paranoia and Slime did come out on cartridge if that helps) What kind of time is involved with these conversions and how hard are they to do? Has someone already gone through a lot of these titles and seen what would be involved in converting them to the 5200?
  14. Very happy with my SD Cart! - Very high quality offering that works very well. Now that I lot of people have them, I would like to know what the actual possibility is of converting more Atari 800 titles over to the 5200? It would seem to me based on what AtariMax says in his documentation that disk based titles could be possible becuase of the larger supported size as long as they don't need more than 16K to run. Actually Steve, I sure would like to see you make at least one attempt to convert a "super title" that uses much more than 32K. I think it would be an excellent proof of concept and give us something very unique to use the SD Cart for. Also one other thought. Those of you who are buying one, don't worry about getting a large flash card. It is almost a waste to use anything more than a 1GB flash card in the SD Cart. The files are just too small to really make a dent to eat up a lot of space. The 4GB card that I have in there looks pretty stupid as it isn't even close to full.
  15. I just wanted to add that I purchased one of these boards and had it installed at local shop. The video quality is excellent and it works very well. According to the guy who did my installation, it was pretty easy to install and it went without any problems. I would reccomend this kit to anyone who needs to add video out support for their 5200.

    5200 Tempest

Sounds good to me, just wanted to see if it was going to be reasonable. Yeah, I think I remember having Adventure II for the 5200 on pre-order for over a year before it did finally ship. I guess it is much better this way. I guess if you want to make sure that you get a copy, you just need to pay attention and watch for the announcement. I think honestly Al, that is likely the better way to go considering the fact that you never know what might come up for the author between now and the actual release of the product. I can't imagine anyone getting rich doing this.

Has a price been set? How soon till you expect to be able to start accepting pre-orders? (I want to make sure that I am at the head of the line for this one)
  18. the wico keypad plugs into the 5200 and the joystick plugs into the wico keypad if you have a wico joystick and need to plug it into the 5200 thats when you need the Y they are not that difficult to build once you round up some plugs 1 9 pin male, 1 15 pin male , 1 15 pin female i can walk you through building one there is no place that has piles of y cables the 5200 is kind of a limited market So let me make sure I understand this. If you have the Wico 5200 Joystick and the Wico 5200 keypad, the keyboard plugs into the 5200 and the joystick plugs into the keypad, so you don't have any real need for the "Y-cable"? Yeah, that's correct. However, there are more Wico joysticks available out there (going by Ebay observations) than Wico keypads and usually sold separately so most people end up needing the Y cable. OK - Gotcha! - That sounds good!

  20. I don't guess that anyone would happen to have or know where I might be able to find a Wico Y Cable for use with the Wico joystick and key pad for the 5200?
  21. You can try an external RF demodulator that will convert the RF into audio/video signal and the one I have also allows you to adjust the audio/video level so you can enhance the output. If you're interested in one, pmail me-- I have 3 of them and get you one or where you can get one. Thank you for the offer! - I have tried that solution and I am still not happy with the quality. It could be the device perhaps, this one appears to be quite cheap. I would think that a direct video out path to either RCA video in or S-video would be the best picture quality you could acheive with the 5200. Is this not the case? Yeah, that would be the best if you bypassed the RF assuming you have a good replacement circuit. It works fine for me as I'm using one of those expensive ones w/enhancement features and I keep the cables short. I'm using a Blonder Tongue unit; which one did you try? It just says "RF Adapter to Video Adapter" on it - it says made in China though, which should come as no surprise. Can you get your hands on the SVideo upgrade from 8-bit domain any longer? - I know he stopped selling them for awhile and it looks like on the web site that he is no longer selling them.

  23. I am seeking recommendations to find a source that services Atari 5200 units. I would like to get my Atari 5200 upgraded to add video and audio outs to allow for cleaner connection to my modern TV. (Would perfer S-Video, but would be willing to consider RCA style composite video as well) I would also like to have my current unit cleaned and serviced if necessary. The Atari 5200 I have now works, but the picture from the RF out is so bad that I just have gotten to the point where the upgrade is necessary and I don't have the time to do it personally, so I would prefer to send it out and have someone else service it. Please post any suggestions, along with your experience with the provider. Thanks!
  24. Got mine today! Great!
  25. Payment Sent! - Looking forward to it!!
