  1. It is most likely a broken wire issue or cold solder issue then. Because I make damn sure I'm in the right location before I go cutting traces! And as I said, my computer is working perfectly fine in all other aspects, and if I cut the wrong trace, I'd probably not have any cart working in or there would be some issue with them anyway that I'd have noticed. Thanks!
  2. I will definitely double check, since I know it should work now, but it definitely isn't a case of mirroring, I made sure of that while doing the mod; I've made that mistake more than once with other mods & upgrades over the years with lots of trouble shooting before I realized, so I've long since learned my lesson and probably over check that with every thing I do now, and I'll be doing it again here, even though I know that's not the case, because I won't be able to help myself! I'll look into the firmware fix and do it if it is for The!Cart, and eventually I'll make sure my MyIDE II is up to date. but it goes with my 1200XL system and it's down for another round of upgrades since I pretty much finished my 800. MyIDE II was only used for testing this mod when The!Cart didn't work and there's no reason to use it with the 800 that now has Side Loader CF and a Fujinet SD, having both of them is already over-kill. Thanks for the tip.
  3. I posted this in a new thread, but Stephen suggested posting it here as well. I was attempting to use The!Cart on my Incognito 800 for the first time today since installing the Incognito and having done the "fix" for The!Cart/MyIDE II shown here https://www.wudsn.com/index.php/productions-atari800/tools/thecart/atari-800-fix at the same time. But neither The!Cart or my MyIDE II work when inserted. I just get a black screen. Now any other cartridge I try works fine, as does everything else. I have Basic disabled in both the BIOS and the Side Loader (which I also have disabled anyway for testing these carts). I'm in XL/XE mode with 1088K Rambo and stock XL/XE OS, SpartaDOS X disabled, hard disk disabled and PBI enabled, but nothing is attached to the PBI at this time. I did the "fix" correctly, cutting the RAS signal trace from the left cart slot and attaching a wire between A and S pins on the right slot for the PHI2 signal. Now I haven't opened the 800 up again yet to make sure the wire on the right slot didn't come loose or something yet, I wanted to find out if it's something else first, before I start taking it apart again to check. Should it work? Or are there additional incompatibilities with Incognito and The!Cart/MyIDE II anyway?

  5. So the Sophia 2 and VBXE work fine together in VBXE mode? Or do you have to be out of VBXE mode to use the Sophia 2 output?
  6. At least it worked at all for you @Rybags, I had to return mine to Poland and am now waiting for it to arrive and a verdict until another is sent to me!😑
  7. Thanks @mozzwald , but that's not the color I'd want (though I know the color could be changed) and I want more than just the Fujinet logo anyway. I guess I'll get to work on one in the next day or two, unless someone else steps forward with a better example.
  8. Has anyone made (and shared for printout) a Fujinet case label? I am thinking about making one, with the Fujinet logo in the middle, and maybe an ATARI and Fuji at the bottom and identifiers for the LED's and maybe buttons (but since they are on the top I haven't decided since a wrap-around label probably wouldn't work well, or even above the LED's since current case designs have the grooves matching their respective computers). But I wanted to check if there are labels already available to use. Or if anyone has made up decal labels (especially clear ones with print) for sale that are more professional than say an inkjet printer would print out.
  9. @tschak909 I don't if Config improvements is the right place for my improvement suggestion or not, but I looked through all the sub-forum pages and really didn't find any other thread that fit. I was thinking it would very cool and polished looking if when you turn on/reset the Fujinet device, before it shows the TNFS Host list screen if there was a Fujinet logo splash screen that either showed for a few seconds before showing the TFNS Host screen or a press of the space bar continued to it. I just got the idea from both the Weather.atr starting up as well as some or all of the videos on Fujinet show a splash screen.
  10. Soon to be a blog about installing a Happy upgrade and SIO2PC/1050toPC internally with two RS232 ports on the back.
  11. Soon to be a blog about my upgrade the Atari 1010 cassette recorder with the Rambit turbo tape loader.
  12. I'm pretty sure my friend will get the top of the line versions of the VCS for us if they do make it to stores. He spent about 10 grand on a custom Mac computer system, so... He gave me an Atari Falcon he didn't use anymore and they are worth, what, several thousand now? He's still a big Atari Jaguar fan too, and when we were texting I asked him if he new about the Jaguar GD yet, and gave him the link to AA store. His text back to me was "that Jaguar GD is the F*cking SHIT!" So it wouldn't surprise me either if one shows up in the mail for me if and when they are finally released. He's a very private guy though, and doesn't do stuff like hang out on Facebook or join forums like AA, I've tried to convince him to join AA and keep up with the latest on Atari's many times, but he just refuses. So I am his only conduit to what's new with classic systems, I was the one that pointed him to AtariVCS.com a year ago, that's how he found out about it.
  13. @TheMontezumaI don't need to load a patched OS up in my Incognito firmware still, do I? The BT will work on my Incognito 800 just by activating the HSIO+BT option in the BIOS menu, right? Or do I still need the patch?
  14. Thanks, I've had that set to HSIO for so long, I forgot there were options even there besides SIO and HSIO! So I was looking under devices!
  15. I'll take a look at my SV 2.1 upgrade for you tomorrow and compare. It's been quite a few years now...but mine works perfectly and did the first time I tested it.
  16. Well if they don't they don't. I wasn't going to get one anyway at any price if they never make it to store shelves, because then the ones sent to backers would just become hugely over-priced collectors items that wouldn't interest me because while I collect stuff, I'm not a "museum" collector or for investment, I USE my stuff, I keep it all in as close to Mint condition as I can, but I use it and I don't over pay for anything (which is why I wouldn't buy one myself at current retail pricing, but if it's a gift, I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth!).
  17. I have wanted one since I found out about the sandbox mode, and knew I would still be able to use it for many things even if Atari and the VCS failed and support was lost. But, I was going to wait until it either failed and I could get it at a bargain bin discount, or for a year or two when the price dropped to under $200 if it succeeded. But a good and wealthy friend of mine just texted me with the surprise that as soon as they are available at Walmart, he would buy us both one! Though I probably won't be hanging out in this forum much until it's in my hands. But I had to tell somebody as I can't contain my excitement and enthusiasm!
  18. Thanks for the info, it's still better than having no dragon cart and no way to play at all! Hopefully it will be improved with Fujinet.
  19. I've got +5v on both my 1200XL and 800 PBI's and everything still works fine with them without external power to the Turbo Freezer on the 800 or the Syscheck 2 on my 1200XL along with multiple other internal upgrades using amperage and MyIDE II and SDX cart plugged in as well. I wouldn't stretch it any further though, and additional PBI devices I'll power externally. But I'm using a 31VA PSU on both. That said, I'm liking your adapter board so far @candle!
  20. Never mind, after studying the board above everything I said here before the edit is moot. So I deleted it. I just want to know about additional power consumption and Phi2 signal issues. Hopefully it is getting power from the slot and not depending on the Incognito. And of course losing ram for non-Incognito 800's, which doesn't concern my Atari. But since I had to return a dead Sophia 2 and am awaiting a replacement, I think I may just hold off and see what happens with this project, and install the Sophia 2 in my 1200XL instead. Though since I've cut my 800 case and mounted the DVI out, I'll have to hook the VBXE's VGA up to it and use an adapter. and make another my own DVI output board for the 1200XL.
  21. Then, if I am understanding correctly, and I think I am, you can buy Fujinet and not worry about another old laptop or SIO2PC at all, Fujinet sort of Obsoletes them.
  22. I think yes. @bandit wants to copy a real disk from a real floppy and make in an ATR image on Fujinet. And from watching the video above, it looks to me, if I'm understanding correctly. like he can follow all the steps there, but instead of setting up slot 3 for an ATR image off of a TNSF server, he could set up his physical drive as drive 3, plugged into the SIO port on the Fujinet and copy to drive 2 on Fujinet. Leaving slot 3 empty on Fujinet. And if he wants to make a real floppy disk from an image off of a TNFS server, then the real drive could be set as drive 2 with a real, formatted floppy disk in it, and copy the image from slot 3 to the floppy disk. And of course, besides slot 1 that has the DOS on it to load up, the real drives and slots could be in any drive number order, he just has to tell DOS what drive to copy to and from. Assuming there is only one physical drive to work with, otherwise the D1: could be DOS in a real drive too and copy an ATR from any other Fujinet slot to any other real drive that is set as D2:-D4: as long as the TNFS ATR and physical drive aren't set as the same drive number. Since to the Atari, they are all just real disk drives. Am I understanding correctly? If I am correct, it is a lot simpler than using SIO2PC with APE/ASPQT/RESPQT to copy disks and images or even using APE's Prosystem and SIOto1050 with real drives since a PC doesn't need to be involved at all.
