thanks for the info guys, as far as any keyboard issue, I'm not worried, I am experienced with all kinds of electronic repairs and mods, especially with Atari hardware, it the keys are unresponsive, I disassemble the keyboard and clean the mylar, that would be the proper way which will have the same results as your button pushing, but will be a more permanent solution as probably all you're doing with that is rubbing off any tarnish eventually, so it works again. I'll look into those mos pages guys thanks again.

I've been looking into available 1200XL memory upgrades and from what I've read, the Rambo XL 256k memory upgrade is comaptible with the 1200XL and it is also compatible with the XE's memory scheme of bankswitching, is this correct? Also, is the Antic PAL-NTSC upgrade compatible with the 1200XL? the only systems mentioned in the instructions are the 600/800xl and the XE machines...and, the instructions mentioned some software files that go with the mod, anyone know where I can get these? there is no file or link to them in the mod page. Maybe I don't need them anyway if I'm not going to change out the OS? I've read up more on this and apparently 90% of European software will work with just the Antic upgrade if I leave the OS alone...that 's good enough for me.

has anyone ever tried putting a 7800 board in the much cooler 2600 woody cases with their nice switches? I was thinking about attempting it and was wondering it there were any ready-made plans out there for such a mod...

there are enough Jaguar fans in Brazil to have a Jagfest?!? Cool! didn't know that! Never even heard there was going to be a Jagfest Brazil! I've only heard of EuroJagfest Jagfest UK and the Jagfest US which is now a tour...Any other countries/continents were there are going to be Jagfest's?
-
on the box, there are a lot more that say they are compatible in the manual...and then those that just are anyway, because Atari was wise enough to at least map the buttons to current keypad ones for maximaum compatibility! 1 of the few things they actually did right!

Geeze! T-bird over reacting as usual! You have to understand (Everyone) that I ALREADY OWN a copy of Battlesphere...I'm just sick of waiting for another to network, if I didn't have my current copy, I'd probably be more willing to stick in there until they come out, and like I said, I'll still buy one IF I have the money when the FINALLY get here, and BSG has the better graphics and a ton of othe improvemnets that I'd love to have, but I'm just not sitting on the edge of my seat for it any more, and the scatbox thing threw me for a loop to, when I was expecting BSG to come out instead! So I'm just tired of it all and it's just become less of a big deal to me now! Not to mention putting up with this marter here...yes he's gotten railed at times over the whole thing, but I think it's over reacting and I'm tired of it too. There was a time when I was an adamant defender of Battlesphere and T-bird, but he rarely thanked me (once) and has long since forgotten that, so I am no longer defending (of course he'll probably say he never asked me to or some totally lame thing like that now).

I've owned this game for years, but had never finished it, always got killed around where the marble buildings start appearing...but I was playing it today with my MAAS arcade stick, and I finally beat the game!!! WOOHOO! It sure makes a difference when you have a good controller that doesn't cramp your style and your hand like the procontroller...my HIGH score was just over 114 million, I spent a couple of minutes shooting everything I had at that huge gold guy at the end, thinking it was a boss, but finally move in close and found out it was the guy I was suupose to save...what was with him being 50 feet tall? Anyway, excellent game, glad I finally finished it, but now it doesn't seem so long as it always did before...Commando seems longer, especially once you finish all the missions the first time through, and you can still go back again and ther is new stuff the second time through...too bad they didn't do that with Ikari too...now what? Tank Command from Froggo? Is that any good? It looks like Ikari in a way...

can't wait! My 1200Xl, I'm told, was put in the mail today! I'm so used to shitty XL/XE keyboards (to certain degree, XE being the worst), except for the 800 which has a good keyboard, I can't wait to try the 1200's. I'm going to have to do some major hacking to it though, to "bring it up to speed" as you said, I'll need a 130XE compatible memory upgrade, and what else? Does it need a different OS or is the one in it good enough? Was it incompatible for some reason with some XL/XE software or just 400/800 software like the XL/XE's? I have a tranlator disk...It's also going to be nice to finally have an Atari that matches all my XL devices! Although I did have an 800XL for a time, I rarely used it because of memory and the poor composite video picture compared to the 800/XE...is the 1200's video good? What other hacks/mods do you suggest for it? I don't really need the PBI mod, since I use SIO2PC/APE.

Do you mean trade the cd version for the cart version? I have the Gold CD-R german edition with the custom printed label (much cooler than the standard, plain black label from B&C) These came out first, then later the black label ones, both through B&C, with box&manual. I'll tade you if that's what you mean, and we can both just keep our own boxes as they are the same...that way no chance of getting smashed in transit. it came with a manual that is just on plain white paper, no cover, but same size as other Jag manuals it comes in a plain jewel case, whether the black label or german printed label. PM me if intersted, assuming that's what you meant, cd for cart of IS2.

yeah, I held on to enough money to buy BSG for about 8 months, and T-bird kept saying it would be soon, last time was in January that he told me that, then he released the scatbox, which I don't even need without another TWO copies of Battlesphere, if I even got one, I still have my jaglink! So, I just got sick of waiting and spent the money on Songbird's titles like protector with the cd bypass and bjl...and other titles. I'm passed caring at this point. If they ever get here (BSG copies), and I happen to have the money, I'll buy one, but I'm not saving for it anymore and if I don't get a copy, oh well. My patience finally ran out...

I ordered a PAL antic chip a while ago, and have had it, but am just now getting ready to install it and do the "NIR" modification. The instructions talk about needing a modded OS too, but at the end it also states that it may not be necessary as only a few PAL games have been come across that check the OS to see if it's running on a PAL or NTSC machine. If this is true, I'd rather not bother changing out the OS too. Has anyone done this "upgrade" and only replaced the ANTIC chip, with it working successfully for the most part? Also, my ANTIC chip is soldered in, and instead of desoldering it and resoldering in the PAL ANTIC, I thought I might just "piggyback" the PAL chip to the NTSC and either cut the VCC "power" pin on the NTSC or, cut it and install a switch to choose between my NTSC or PAL chip so I don't have to put up with the 50hz flicker when playing NTSC games. Has anyone else done this successfully? Does anyone foresee any problems with this approach that I have not? I've already made sure that it will fit under the shielding...

Use the 1.5 amp, Atari computers were generally over engineered, so the extra .5 amps won't hurt it if it's not needed. The computer will compensate.
-
What list? Is that supposed to be all the black ones? I don't see T.Mcfur and my copy is black...never mind...I found that link while scrolling up looking for the "list."

just keeping it near the top so people still see for a bit...

Honestly, I was excited about this option with the DC, I always liked linking consoles for muliplayer action, or even split-screen, although a bit less, so online gaming intrigued me...heck, I even still have a 28k connection and have gone online with my dreamcast a few times and the "lag" which I don't recall even noticing in the games I played, was not a factor. But, the jerks you had to deal with, cheating and people who weren't serious about playing the games right really turned me off. I also think it stinks that games like Unreal tournament, Quake Arena, etc. are coming out with no real 1 player option! And now that Seganet is gone, it makes games like that worthless! So, all in all, I agree with most of you guys that I find it irrelevent now and could care less. I'd try it on my XBOX eventually, if I ever get a decent connection, which here in the country will be in another decade, if satellite DSL will work, maybe sooner, but the verdict is still out on that... I could care less and wish I'd never bought several of my DC games which are worthless offline. Give me JagDoom linked, or Halo split-screen or linked anyday. Much more fun, with friends you know in the room with you. I never could even get someone to play, if anyone was even online, with me in NFL 2k2! I just don't care about online gaming anymore... Can you play Phantasy Star Online, offline (DC VERSION)? I want that game if I can, otherwise it's another useless DC game... I'd give DC online another chance if someone were to pick up the torch with an online forum that supports these games in the wake of Seganet, but I'm not going to pay a huge monthly fee and have to get satelite DSL with another payment just to play XBOX LIVE, if it's even possible...

I have one of these coming from a friend...can't wait! I was very disappointed when it wasn't released, after drooling over the ads for months. I knew this game would show up floating around eventually though, but anyone know how it started? Not looking for names or anything just ways; was it released on the up-and-up by some one or is it an under-the-table thing? Inquiring minds want too know...

Chips challenge? I don't own it. I have seen reviews and screenshots and write-ups and it doesn't interest me in the least. Warbirds is a favorite on the other hand, and I've never had a chance to play it linked yet. It's my Halo. I definately want BattleZone, for the hidden easter-egg version, the original is just a bonus I may play once in a while.

Atari Proline Joystick & Atari Joypad
Gunstar replied to walter_J64bit's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The 7800 controller will work with the 2600 and any or the 8-bit Atari computers and both buttons will work the SAME-that means they will both work, but not independently. Kind of like 8-bit track-ball controllers with the two buttons that work as one. They will NOT work on any of the ST line, unless modified, they are not mapped like the mouse buttons. They will also work on any Commodore products, 8 or 16-bit, the same as a standard joystick, both buttons working as one. It may be possible to program a game from scratch to take adbvantage of both buttons as seperate buttons, but that's it. -
Probably a different chip or something, but who knows? You'll find a lot of stuff surrounding Battlesphere to be "strange" to say the least.

Working copy of 'Legends of Valour?'
Gunstar replied to Gunstar's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Thanks, but I had downloaded a copy from LGD, it was the first one I tried, and it didn't work. They also say right there on that link that they don't garuantee games to work, even if the e-mail them to you, so I'm sure it would be the same one...the price is great, if I could trust it worked. Thankyou anyway for the link. -
Well, my girlfriend (ex actually) always loved platform games like Rayman, shooters like Raiden&Trevor Mcfur and puzzle games. She also enjoyed games like MYST quite a bit. My Sister loves Sim City&Civilization type games, and platformers like Rayman, Crash and Spyro the dragon, she also like Crash Team Racing and fantasy adventure games that comes form books she's read, like the Lord of the Rings stuff, and Dragon Riders:the chronicals of Pern (DC). She also REALLY loved a tank game called "WILD METAL" on the DC (a ROCKSTAR game), and IRON SOLDIER on the Jaguar.

The Dreamcast has the perfect game for you then...FUR FIGHTERS! It's AWSOME! cute and fuzzy thing blowing up each other!

4 tracks, each one harder and funner than the one before!

I might be interested in buying some games from your firm, but I don't think I am familiar with anything, since I am American and very few European titles made it across the Atlantic to U.S Atari fans. Can you give me a list of titles and descriptions of games, and are instructions translated into English? Do you have a website to look at?

Well, I've had offers made to me by several people, unfortunately, no one except one person who I have yet to here back from, has had anything I want/need for trade, so I think I might offer some of this stuff up for sale, I'd rather sell the systems and not part out stuff, but make me an offer anyway. The INTV unit&games is still spoken for though...everything else is currently still available.
