  1. I dont mind Fatal Run it's not a bad little game as long as you don't get your hopes up for RoadBlasters... and to be honest, I dont mind Dark Chambers either (and I'm not saying that just to sell cartridges) ....I've gotten some good co-op action going on with Jon Dyer. The only real complaint I have is the music... there basically isn't any. So it's always a good idea to put on some music to pump you up for the game, if you're playing to win. Best,
  2. ...cough *pack-in titles* cough... [/i]
  3. Are you saying that from experience or did you read my post in Off-topic about the thrift store doing that to me with Saturn games. I'm still pissed off about that Well I was just wondering if you had the same experience, if you were telling them about my experience. Ice - I was reffering to your post in the off-topic thread about the thrift store and your saturn games. But I've had similar situations happen to me before as well, however I was really bringing up your terrible experience. Best,
  4. Trust me guys... new 7800 game titles are right around the corner. The 7800 is easy to program for once you figure out how to do it. Best,
  5. I wish more girls were gamers.... I'm not sure how it got started that videogames were grouped along with cars and powertools and being a "guy thing" ... it would be nice to see more girls get into gaming. I think over the years there have been a few games which have attracted girls tho.... Centipede did in the early days and Dance Dance Revolution is doing it now. Best,
  6. As of last year, Funco Land, Babbages, and Software Etc were all merged into one store called GameStop (gamestop.com) and I was really hoping that the Funco Land stores would end up being better run once this happened.... I have yet to see a change. I don't want to kick them in the chin while they are down, but I have never once had a good experience at any FuncoLand stores in the five states that I have lived. Once about two years ago I went in naively looking for any Atari games.... I walked up to the clerk and asked if they had anything for Atari.... 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, Jaguar, etc.... and he looked at me like I was from Mars and rudely said "well why the hell would we ever carry Atari games? Atari wasn't even a real game company" .... that statement alone pissed me off to the point where I called the regional manager... As for their pricing policies for NES games... its rather simple. First they sit down in a circle and pop some 'ludes... then they just decide how much they want for each game. Oh well at least their are consistent in their pricing and don't change the price on you once you walk up to the register like the do at some thrift shops. Best,
  7. Oh man now I feel rather queasey... before I got into Atari 7800.com and all taht fun stuff I had about six different websites up on Xoom.... and I'm not much of a Tramiel fan either. As far as their whereabouts... well I'm actually studying into this right now. Jack is retired with his wife Helen and I'm pretty sure that they still live on their palacial estate in San Jose. I'm not positive as to what Sam is doing but I was told that Leonard was last seen working at an investment firm out in New York City about two years ago. Hope this sheds some light for you guys..
  8. I use my trusty Atari 7800.com ProSystem serial no. NX-001 Cya
  9. Ill keep that in mind. I've got my hands pretty full with Atari 7800.com, TurboGrafx-16.com, and the rest of the stuff at ManhattanDM.com Thanks!
  10. That's priceless! Hey I hate to say it, but its true! I host his webpage and I have met him in person ... and he just has all of his information backwards, which is sort of funny when you talk to him, but spreading incorrect information on forums and creating rumors is another story entirely. I don't mean to be hard on Joe... a lot of people on here are just getting the chance to meet Joe Rivera for the first time and aren't really used to his antics. Truth being, Joe is slightly mentally handicapped, not to the extent of anything serious, but he truly is like a watered-down version of "Rain Man," which explains his odd behavior and his delusions of being "world famous" and "THE authority on Atari" not to mention his superhero thing he has going on with the Atari super gang. He's a great guy and he helps us out tremendously, but he knows better than to say things like "oh the 5200 expansion port was to link up to the 7800" or anything along those lines. Joe knows his Ataris pretty well, and he knows that he likes to embellish in false facts for whatever reason. Oh well... hes still a cool guy and a great person. Best,
  11. Pole Position II for the 7800 and Asteroids for the 2600. I got the 7800 as my first system for Christmas (whcih came with PPII obviously) and I also recieved Asteroids for the 2600 that very same day. Best,
  12. Would anybody be interested in seeing an Odyssey2 dedicated website? Similiar to Atari 7800.com where there is history and sales and.... well not Atari Joe lol otherwise he'd be trying to sell you the 2600 adapter for it, but you know... a nice site with history and images and a few systems and games for sale? Just curious..
  13. ...absolutely. Its really an amazing little system. I can understand why people would want a 2600 over an Odyssey2, many people wanted the "real" space invaders and the "real" asteroids... but Atari aside, what about those who purchased Intellivision, etc? I certainly would have chosen an Odyssey2 over the Intellivision, based on technology and capabilities alone. My 2 cents..
  14. I'm not quite sure where you got that from Joe, but that is completely 100% not true. It certainly would have been nice if the Odyssey had the ability to play 2600 games, and maybe utilize the built-in keyboard for some of the games. I'm sure the Odyssey2 would have been around much much longer than it was, maybe even being a leader in gaming, but it just wasnt so. Maybe you are confusing Odyssey2 and ColecoVision??
  15. Incorrect. The expansion port had absolutely nothing to do with the 7800. It was just for future expansion for printers, etc. that never really came to be. Atari had a habbit of trying to come out with an "XE-like" game system (i.e. keyboard, add-ons, etc) and never ever following thru. This is just another one of those cases. As for the 7800, well Joe I think you have your head up your ass.
  16. Thats really strange. I know that right now Atari 7800.com isn't the most Netscape-friendly website out there but I've never had anybody tell me that they just can't get to it. Is anybody else facing a situation like this? I would like to make sure that everybody who wants to can visit and enjoy our website! Best,
  17. Yes! Old Navy Performance Fleece, Saturday Night Live reruns, and Snapple.
  18. This is *alot* more difficult than you may think. Make sure you know exactly what your plan is before you jump head-first into something like opening a game store. You have to have both extensive gaming knowledge in whatever type of games you plan on selling (and I strongly recommend that you do not just stick to Atari-only, otherwise you wont be able to survive) and you also must have a keen business intellect. There are a million more things I could suggest to you, it would be easier that if you wish to speak further about this that you just contact me privately. Good luck with you're venture!
  19. Robo- We would love to have you on board! We can use help from any Turbo Gamers at the moment. (Infact I'm hoping maybe Albert can help us out from time to time ) If you wish, you can just drop me an email to talk about this even further, but what would be best is if you drop by TurboGrafx-16.com and filled out the form on the "work with us" page linked at the bottom. Best,
  20. Not really... at least not if it was *brand* new in the box. This stuff is almost thirty year old and is really starting to get rare.
  21. I also have a box of magazine-sized strategy guides for "Pokemon Stadium" for Nintendo 64, from Prima. These used to sell for 9.95 at Toys "R" Us... I'm not sure if they were ever placed on clearance or not, but I have several I would like to get rid of. If anybody is interested in them, just send an email my way and make me an offer =)
  22. If anybody is interested we also still have a few brand new 3DO systems after our purchase of 3DOreal.com. They are brand new, come with a 2-Year Limited Warranty and 24-hr customer support. We only have a few left, but we are selling them for 89.95. (We also have Neo Geo Pocket Colors in stock brand new in the box as well) For more information, you can visit our specials page at our online catalogue here: http://www.atari7800.com/catalogue/pg17 Thanks!
  23. Commando is definately a choice game for the 7800 ProSystem... if you have the means, I highly reccomend getting your hands on one. There were so many games that came out for the 7800 that were overall good games... but still left you wishing they had gone the extra mile in development and production... Fatal Run comes to mind. But Commando had everything. Quality sound, good gameplay, prime graphics, and a well thought-out series of levels and challenges. I wish we had more copies at Atari 7800.com so that everybody could enjoy this title. Definately an A+ game.
