I've updated the page in the store giving you credit for the research and designing the circuit and also provided a link to your site:
http://atariage.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=953
Please send me your address and I'd be glad to send you a kit for free.
..Al
Hey Albert, thanks.
Don´t worry, it´s not necessary to send me the kit.

Where's my credits?
Don't bother me you sell, but you could inform the source.

Nice mod!
Do you think the circuit will work with a 74HCT00 instead of 74LS00?
How much difficult would be to disable audio and video when the game is paused like on the Onyx Junior console?
HC and HCT doesn't work. So far only LS.
To disable audio and video is pretty simple. Attach 2 diodes, catode pins in our pause switch. One diode you connect at TIA pins 12-13 and the other diode in composite video output

I just tried it myself and it works 99% of the time. Maybe with a debounce capacitor it could work nearly 100%.
EDIT: Never mind, on some games it works maybe 80% which is not good enough.
Try to pause for a "long" period, like 2 minutes or more. Your number will drop to 10%

Hey,
remember me? Atari Jukebox?

Well, this weekend I worked on a pause button for the Atari and in my tests is working really great.
I wrote a short article in english (or engrish) on my site.
Check it out:

He has it on MercadoLibre I see.. he wants $600 R$, which is about $339 US.
http://produto.merca...-1000-jogos-_JM
I'd be interested if it weren't so expensive. It's also PAL - M I'm guessing since it's Polyvox and Brazil. Is that easy to get an adapter to make it into NTSC?
I can convert to NTSC if the buyer ask. It's really easy.

Removed by eBay police...

Just read the ebay polices. Will be very difficult to post there.
I'll accept some offers in private, just PM me.

Its pretty cool, It would be nice to own, does it work with some of the other controllers, like the paddles?
yes, of course. It's only a common Atari with a "cool" cartridge

Just uploaded a video to YouTube
Can't recorded more, because my camera's battery is empty

I speak portuguese in the video, but is very easy to follow the explanation.
I'll post this Atari in an Auction in eBay. Post the link here soon.

wow, that is awesome

Parabéns Trucco, excelente trabalho! Where do live in Brazil?
Rio de Janeiro

that is just badass... and it does odyssey 2 also? & coleco? & ?
wowYes you can plug the Emulator in many systems
http://picasaweb.google.com/victor.trucco/EmuDeCartuchoFinal#
in this link, You can see the Cartridge Emulator as a module and you can plug the cartridges in that flat cable. In pictures it's connected in a SMS.
Here in Vectex

In CP400 (Tandy clone)

My next internal mod will be an Odyssey 2.

Hey yuppicide, thanks.
Just saw the news in many brazilian blogs. They uses Hack-a-Day as a feeder.
-
Very cool! Are you using the PIC to emulate bank switching hardware? What schemes does it support?
PIC only feed a RAM chip. The W27C512 emulates F6 and F8. It's possible to emulate any scheme just changing this W27 for another cartridge hardware (i.e. Tigervision or Parker Bros)

That is an excellent mod! I will forever think of it as the PRONTO MOD!

Love that blue display! What are the wires going to what looks like the rear of the console?
Composite Video and Audio

save2600 is right, though, you're really chopping your ass off to spite your foot if you don't make that card externally removable! That's like closing the patent office because all the great inventions are already invented... In other words, there are still GREAT new homebrews and hacks coming out, the total game list for the 2600 may NEVER be complete!
Didn't want to disrespect homebrew scene...

There's a lot of great homebrews in my SD. Anyway, I was looking again my PCB and if I rotate the board 180o, the SD slot will be right in the front panel. So, just need to cut a hole for SD and it's done...

-
so how would one order that cart emulator? would it also have to be soldered in or does it normaly com with a cart connector? You should sell 2600s already modded like that!
Drop me a PM. We can talk about an order.
Nice work. Looks like you have a PIC which reads the ROM images from the SD card and programs them to a W27C512 (64KB) EEPROM? This is a bit different from the harmony cart, which uses an ARM chip to feed the ROM data directly to the 2600.Chris
W27c512 act like a CPLD here to emulate a cheap method to do F6 and F8 bankswitchs
Love the readout "Air-Sea Battle...PRONTO!"
Forgot to translate this message. PRONTO=READY.

When you are selecting the game, the 2 display lines show the complete name of the rom stored in the SD. After press the emulator select button the "Ready" message appears and you can play the game.
I recorded a video and post in Youtube one year ago with a huge explanation (Portuguese only, sorry)

Yeah, great job. Love the transformer and its fuse to protect your PCB board too. Does AC come into the 2600 now and that little guy steps it down? Don't see a bridge rectifier though, unless that's done on your board...
It's a 9v transformer with a couple of diodes. The power come to original power input to Atari and to my board and I regulated to 5V to logic and 3.3 to SD card.
Would be REAL slick if you turned your board 90˙ and Dremelled out a slot for easy access to that card...
I don't bother about to remove. I already put all the great games in the card

But thanks anyway. I'm thinking about to build an odyssey 2 the same way. Maybe I do a removable card this time.
Do you plan on selling these? If so, how much?
I already selling the Cartridge Emulator almost one year, but it's a little expensive to send outside Brazil. Using today currency rate, cost U$217 with shipping to USA. Ouch...

Hey guys,
I just complete my Atari mod, mounting a "Emulador de Cartucho" (cartridge emulator) inside a Polyvox Atari 2600. For who doesn't know yet, the Emulador de Cartucho was my first
"serious" project and works simulating a real cartridge for many 8 bit systems like Atari 2600/5200/7800, Odyssey 2, Colecovision, Vectrex, SMS, Zx81, Spectrum, MSX and others, reading
the roms from a SD card. This project complete one year last month.
I put 1207 roms separate by A to Z letters and navigate to the desired rom thru buttons in the front panel. Doesn't need to switch on and off a million of times to find a game

You can see the building process in my Picasa

CPUWIZ and Albert, can I use your PDF images in my original article? It´s a little hard to see these original Ataris here in Brazil.
