  1. I'll be going to San Diego for a few days tomorrow. Is there any good gaming stores (or even thrifts) I should check out in the Bay area?
  2. That guy has sold one of those at least once before. Waste of a trak-ball IMO. It would be better if he added the stick to the trak-ball with a switch to choose between them and also added an arcade fire button. Now THAT would be worth $50.
  3. Take a very thin screwdriver and pop off the frame that surrounds the start/pause/reset buttons. Take a white eraser and clean all of the contacts. Give it a try and if it works properly pop the frame back in. Chances are that if your start buttons aren't working your fire buttons will need a similar treatment. A rebuilt controller is a good idea long-term and so is a set of gold buttons. Hope this helps.
  4. I think you just need to adjust that pot. I had a similar problem (on one of my monitors) when there was not enough resistence on one of the pots.
  5. The 1084s is a great monitor to use with any system.
  6. Too bad more people can't enjoy it. It's a really good port and it looks great with the AV mod now!
  7. I don't really have an answer but I have a suggestion. When I was making these adapters, I had a female plug (board style with the legs) and soldered the top row of pins directly into a male plug. This way, everything just passes directly through no wires to worry about or anything (for the keypad at least). Sorry I don't have any other suggestions other than triple check all of the connections to the diagram.
  8. Thanks. It seems that this was magnified because of some of the video settings of the TV I was using. In the end I am quite happy with the results.
  9. That's funny, I was just about to point that out. it includes quite a fwe classic gaming questions too.
  10. Does anyone know an easy way (circuit) to create a very minute audio delay. I'd like to add simulated stereo to my 2600 a/v mod.

    My Trak-Ball mod

In this situation what would be your choice; micro or leaf?
  12. well, I just finished Ben Heckendorn's video mod and I'm having an issue with ghosting. This is very visible on Ms. Pac Man with the pink walls. There is a light blue offset to the left. Also, in Pitfall II, the bats are so dark I can hardly see them. I've played with the pots as best I can. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Dead Trak-Ball

I'm assuming if you opened it up you would have noticed if the connector that runs to the trak-ball board was not connected. The cable for the trak-ball is split between keypad functions and movement. Just something to check I guess.

    My Trak-Ball mod

That would be great. I was trying to think of a use for a button on the other side but came up short. I doubt anyone is going to port a game just for me though
