  1. Yep, the PC-FX was designed in 1992 for all intents and purposes and then sat for two years before NEC released it realizing that the generation was shifting away from the 16-bits.
  2. i remeber that one being pretty fun on the NES I remember there being a Spy vs Spy on an island that never came out. Anyway, the NES one was fun but you could just lock yourself in a room with traps all around and it became impossible for the CPU or other player.
  3. beats me. remember, i've never owned one. i just assumed it came with rf only. heres a pic of the back of the system that the seller posted [ It has composite out, it uses the same cable as the Genesis 1 does for it. A TurboDuo cable works as well but only gives you mono sound.
  4. yeah, if you played the 32X using RF output rather than the composite from the 32X you got missing graphics. I've run into that before.
  5. This is in large part because in the US there isn't a particularly thriving community of Master System collectors.
  6. It also requires a Japanese N64 which is another expense. The systems weren't available for sale so even places like NCS didn't sell them. In Japan the arrangement was you rented it for three months along with signing up for a service called RandNet and after that you owned it.
  7. The FZ-10 is the smallest and lightest and for those reasons it's my favorite. I also have a Goldstar. The Goldstar is a lot rarer. Also there IS a 3DO forum at http://cdinteractive.co.uk/3do/forum/ I'm DragonmasterDan there as well.
  8. Blazing Lazers and Bonks Revenge are two he didn't list.
  9. The problem with a lot of classic gaming stores I've seen is that it's hard to operate a brick and mortar location that sells mostly used product because the vast majority of what you're getting in stock is product that's difficult to sell. A lot of places have way too many common games. Sought after or rare games are basically impossible to find in classic gaming stores since they got bought up so quickly. To further exacerbate the problem there does exist ebay which in its own right is the ultimate classic gaming store. The places I've seen that have success also offer repairs and new products as well. It's just a hard market to compete in these days due to the explosion of online sales and the fact that most of your customers aren't looking for common product since you are a specialty of a specialty store.
  10. Y's 1 and 2 was announced by Hudson and ratedby the ESRB it's coming. Considering Vivendi owns the license it's highly likely it will be multiplatform whenever it comes out. Game companies management changes all the time. Also that sort of thing has been going on for a while from what I've heard, it's just not as talked about because people don't care.
  11. I´m using a Atari Euro-Joypad and an Y-cable (so that i can hook up the Coleco-Controller and the Atari in Port one at the same time). => works great! I have the Euro joypad but no Y cable at my disposal.
  12. I tried the controller port trick and a Gen controller to no avail (it actually doesn't recognize the CV button presses with the gen controller in either slot). I'll try a 2600 stick next.
  13. SA controller= Standard Atari or? Added in edit: Ehhh, I realize you mean Super Action. Nevermind.
  14. Yeah, which is why this is one of the only Genesis clones I've ever seen. SNES's are tough as well which is why besides the FC Twin or whatever I've not seen many clones of it either.
  15. Considering the Majesco Genesis 3 won't work with Virtua Racing I doubt it. Also the 32X requires those ports in the back, I don't think a clone system would include that. Clone systems never seem to be as good as the real thing. Aside from the fact that they are "new", I don't understand the appeal. Why put up with unknown compatibiliy, substandard build quality, and nonstandard parts? Might as well just take the money and buy and old system, then give it some TLC. To the OP: I'm not trying to trash your post, having an NES and Genesis in the same box is cool, I admit that. :-) Would be great if it were SMS and NES. Well the appeal is newer parts, price, size advantages at the expense of compatibility. This is why Famiclones are so popular, NES's (and even the NES 2) are both not exactly the best piece of hardware in the world. And a lot of people are willing to sacrifice compatibility for a clearer picture on a system that's pins aren't going to bend.

  17. How would I start a game without being able to press the numeric pad. Added in edit: I should probably note that presently the only game I have is Donkey Kong which requires it. I'm guessing not all games require you to press a number when you start?
  18. My problem isn't garble it's just like it has more static interference than say my 7800. Maybe it has weaker RF shielding? I assume you wiggled all the cables around? That's the best I can do....I'll now defer this to more technological astute board members. Yep, it's not bad. It's just noticably more staticy than the 7800 (I haven't pulled out my VCS to compare with though). Anyway, what controller options are there. I know there's the "Super Action Controller" or something. How is it?
  19. This thing totally screams Atari Jaguar to me. Even the box art is similar with the same Black/Red style. The HyperScan is a total 1990s throwback. Is retro cool right now? I dunno. Jaguar had way better packaging. Thing thing is a cube box with marvel characters all over it.

  21. Well, I finally received my colecovision. It works! A few notes, even I was surprised by how big it was. I do now realize I have in fact played a Colecovision years ago when I was a wee lad but it's been so many years that my recollection is quite hazy. First off, the controllers are worse than I expected, I thought they were intellivision like. This is much, much worse. Next off, despite a scratch over the front part my Colecovision is in shockingly good aesthetic shape. I'm really surprised for what I paid. Which also brings to the point that the seller definitely lost out just in shipping it, he definitely underestimated the shipping cost. Anyway, I noticed the picture is definitely clearer on my 7800 (I even tried using the same cord and tv switch box) is this typical?
  22. There does exist PAL, European TurboGrafx (no 16 in the title) units from my understanding they were sold only on a test market basis in Southern England and Spain. Some time ago there was a seller who would consistently list them on ebay.co.uk however at the present time there does not appear to be any listed.
  23. I own two DS's neither have scratched but they do get smudgy and need to be wiped with a cloth
