  1. The Atari 8-bit computers weren't that popular over here in the UK which was probably due to the fact that most games you could buy on cassette would take over 20 minutes to load and usually it would crash and you would have to start again. Popularity of 8-bit and 16-bit computers here in the UK(1981 to 1992) were as follows:- 1. Sinclair Spectrum 2. Commodore 64 3. Amiga 500(and later 600 and 1200) 4. Atari 520STFM 5. Atari 400/800/xl/xe 6. Acorn/BBC Also not many games were released for the Atari 8-bit. Usually the atari would be left out. People didn't like the grey colour of the computer. I got my first Atari computer at xmas 1987, a Atari 65xe and I could only buy games at a local market. Mostly Mastertronic lable games on cassette at £1.99 or £2.99 but there was only about 20 titles for sale while c64 and spectrum games would have about 60 titles for sale. Evently I had to buy games by mail order from Silica Shop. Actually I found the Atari versions not as good as other platforms. I remember being disappointed with Atari 8-bit version of 180. The Spectrum version was much better. David
  2. Super Football has a pause button using the col/bw switch. Switch it to bw and the game pauses. David
  3. How would you pay for the stuff? You have to have money which didn't get printed after 198-. David
  4. Big zero for me. Didn't find a thing Atari wise. All i did find was a Sega Mega Drive for £10 I passed it up. David
  5. I was being sarcastic. Yes I am nuts. David
  6. Yes a company could release the games that never came out like for example Garfield and they could be numbered on the back of the box. Imagine it; The hamilton Collection presents the Atari 2600 Collection. Your chance to own the games that were never released. Limited to 10,000 or something at £30 each. Just a thought. David
  7. Why don't you auction them at Ebay and give the money to charity? David
  8. Actually i think i had an atari cart with a copyright of 1992 at one time. The last Atari 2600 was made in 1993 i think. David
  9. I think that all the games released in 1990 were only pal releases. Atari in the USA stopped releasing games in 1989. Klax is an PAL only release i think. CX26192 I got a bid on it for a mint Klax right now but i am not telling where. Don't want to lose it. David
  10. Whats the number for that shop? I want that unoped 6 switcher. Willing to pay the international postage costs too. David
  11. AFAIK the Atari 2600 never had a built-in game. Sure you don't mean the Atari 78000 which had Asteroids built-in. David
  12. The prices didn't get reduced either. Games like Super Football was about £19.99 in cagalogues(was the only way you could buy atari games in the late 80s). David
  13. quote: Originally posted by atarinvader: I see a lot of Jr.'s aswell. What part of the UK you from? I am in Durham. My local flea market is in Chester-le-Street. Last week on Saturday I looked and did not find anything Atari wise. And when they is something its always a combat or space invaders cart in a bad state. David
  14. Uptil 1984 Atari Inc Printed the manuals in colour and the games look like some effort has gone into them. But when Atari was sold in 1984, the games looked to be rushed to release. Manuals printed in black and white or red and white. The cartridge door protectors were not used from 1986. Was this a conspiracy to run Atari into the gutter? What do you think? David
  15. Otherwise known as the Sunnyvale 6 switcher. David
  16. I am on about the heavy plastic 6 switch that is shown on the box. David
  17. I am in the UK. I assume you are being sarcastic. David
  18. I am in the UK. Here there is no point in going to the flea markets anymore. Havn't seen any Atari cartridges there for the last few years. The last time there were selling them for 25 pence each. I must have been the only one buying them. Do see a lot of jr consoles though and they sell them for a pound each. I got about 5 jr consoles, one of which is a short rainbow console and one of them still has the protective selophane over the silver bit. I have to buy from Yahoo and Ebay now. People on Ebay, stop outbidding me please. Its not like its the only one up for auction. David
  19. Was this game a vitmin(sp?) of the game crash of '84? David
  20. How rare is it to find an Atari 2600 6 switcher still sealed? Never seen one myself. They are always in a bad condition and the packaging is always nearly non-existant. David
  21. Hello Everybody, Was the original Atari 6 switch ever released outside the US? Or would I have to import one from the US? David
