  1. And for the systems you mentioned I like NesterJ for the NES, RacePSP for the NeoGeo Pocket, and PicoDrive for the Genny. The other systems all have emulators but I didn't find them that great yet. A few games work well on the Mame4all emu but not all of them.
  2. I found the a good list of emulators on this forum and it helped me to get started and explore around. http://www.pspcrazy.com/forums/psp-homebre...lators-psp.html Keep in mind that if you get a new PSP there's a very good chance it will not be able to be modded to play homebrew and emulators. I don't think the newest ones have been hacked but that can change quickly. When I got my PSP a few months ago I made sure to get an older model. Found another link: http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=6854
  3. Several multicart-like options at this page: http://www.atarimax.com/
  4. Your wife has talent but you are a big geek
  5. Lol, almost 5-year old boy here and I've got NickJr DVD's on the DS and a R4 card. Works great for him and gave me a really good excuse to get a PSP for my gaming needs I bought my R4 card from DealExtreme a few years back and I just recently ordered some PSP homebrew stuff, good outfit with good prices and fast shipping from Hong Kong.
  6. Flash cart is a great solution from what I hear. I have a multicart and have just been buying the new releases on cart. I would recommend Rip-Off as a great two person game. For one-player it's hard to beat Minestorm and Star Castle.
  7. Read it today after seeing the announcement on r.v.g.c and was entertained as usual. Great work
  8. Not exactly retrogaming but they do get into gaming history and pedigrees, I ran into a cool podcast just his week, Idle Thumbs. Some of the guys on it are from Gamesutra and ShackNews so they really know their stuff and are usually pretty funny. http://www.idlethumbs.net/ And if anyone was into some of the decent 1up gaming podcasts, some of those guys that were recently fired are starting up a new podcast called RebelFM. Listened to the first episode today and it was pretty good. http://www.eat-sleep-game.com/news/2009/01...e-1-of-rebelfm/
  9. I read through your reviews today. Nice work. I like how you are reviewing the games you had as a kid on those compilation disks
  10. SNES- FZero, Mario Kart, and Super Metroid - about 45 minutes. Actually played them with a good SNES emulator on the Gamecube.
  11. I had the same problem at first. What you have to do is copy and paste the link to the game demo and paste it into a new browser window. That should work for you.
  12. Bumping up this easy to enter contest. Used to get dozens of replies for contests. I was even good for a SuperBowl contest six years ago so I know what I'm taking about
  13. Sold a Colecovision game to eightbit last week. Friendly and honest retrogamer. Thanks again.
  14. This look like it will be fun to check out and a good resource for new ST users. Thanks for putting it together.
  15. Cool game. I think I did the same thing (gave myself a Xmas gift) a few years back because I remember playing Championship Rally for the first time around the Christmas holiday.
  16. I would also go with Xmas Nights or Holiday Lemmings for Christmas games. The VideoGameCritic has a few other Christmas games at his site: http://www.videogamecritic.net/xmas.htm
  17. I need to stop reading this thread. Every time I do, there's another 15 minutes gone playing Dragster again Nice 5.84 magicman. 5.71 is still my lowest after a few years of playing.
  18. I ordered the Coleco multicart from Atarimax when it came out 2 or 3 years ago. Since I've gotten rid of all my Colecovisions and it's still wrapped up in it's shipping box I'd probably be inclined to sell mine at a slight discount.
  19. When we got our first Atari with Space Invaders back in the day we had one of those ugly console TVs in the living room. Maybe 27-inches? The TV I most remember from my Atari days is the one I bought in 83/84 with my first job monies. It was a sweet 13-inch color TV from Sears with one dial for VHF and one dial for UHF.
  20. That's pretty cool. I often find when classic computers or consoles are spotted at exhibits or museums that it was a forum member here or at Digital Press that put it together. Hope someone lets us know who was responsible
  21. My favorite was Spiderman 2 on the Gamecube. Really felt like Grand Theft Auto does superheros. It got a little repetitive towards the end but it was fun while it lasted.
  22. I have 2 stelladapters and some good usb joysticks but I still ordered one to try out. I was waiting to see it they felt good in my hands before ordering more to hack up. That retroblast review is a good sign that I'll order a couple more soon
  23. I think the IIGS had some staying power because of the education market and the enormous back catalog of software. If you were a school district you couldn't afford to stock a computer lab full of Macs in the 80's but something in the Apple II series would probably work.
  24. If you like some 3DO games, I'm sure there will be 5 or 10 Jag games that you'll like. You really have to play the games to get a good feel. Stop quoting magazine and web reviews, most of the people here have seen 30 years of crap reviews
