  1. I've also played the Infocom games online through java to pass time at work, I mean when I have free time http://www.xs4all.nl/~pot/infocom/
  2. Ah, that's the catch isn't it. I haven't played a Saturn game in about 2 years and I haven't played a 3DO game in at least 3 years. If I hooked up either system I would definitely find a few games that will convince me to keep the whole system. It would be better to sell them off before playing My faves for Saturn were Nights, Daytona, and Mr. Bones. For the 3DO I liked Road Rash and Icebreaker.
  3. I have the same systems you have except I have an Adam instead of a Colecovision and I have a huge 3DO collection that I haven't touched in years. I also have a Vectrex and several 8-bit Atari and Commodore computers. Would love to pare down but it is hard to pick so I keep a lot of stuff in storage. I'd probably get rid of my Adam and then 3DO and Saturn systems first.
  4. I had a tape drive for about 2 years before I got a disk drive for my Atari 800. But I don't remember pirating anything at all on tape, in fact I spent most of my time programming my own games in Basic and trying to learning some assembly language. But all that was shot when I got a 1050 drive and then my friends would give me dozens of games a month and I didn't bother making my own games and apps as much. See piracy does suck I think one of the first games I used as a copy was One on One Basketball with Bird and Dr. J.
  5. I finally broke down and got 08 Show in June when Best Buy had it on sale for $30. At first I thought it was kinda slow in comparison to other games but it's since become my favorite baseball game mainly because of the Road to the Show mode. Complete blast taking a rookie from Double-AA all the way to the show in a couple of years playing only in defense and at-bats that involve your player.
  6. Good luck with your marathon, I admire your need for symmetry. I'd probably chuck the first game you mentioned, 1080 Avalanche unless it's your only game that starts with a number
  7. Only is spurts and when I should be working. Dragster - 5 minutes Thrust Platinum - 15 minutes BMX Airmaster - 15 minutes An Adventure hack (forgot which one) - 20 minutes 35 minutes this week.
  8. I was about to post that I saw a 2600 stuffed and mounted on a wall this weekend at a Gainesville, FL Fridays. Makes me think that Fridays corporate is scouring garage sales and flea markets and killing off our collectibles for their kitschy walls.
  9. OT- I was looking around YouTube at some of those Vic-20 games and that port of Pharaoh's Curse looks pretty good. Does it play even close to the good A8bit version?
  10. Looks like you can download it from this page, it's called Translator.atr , fired up fine on my A800 emulator. http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/collections/ata...ools%20-%20atr/
  11. Something fishy about the 97 date, there wasn't 52x CD-Rs or 52x burners back then.
  12. You need something like a modded ps2, swap magic or a codebreaker/action max CD to initially get files onto a memory card. But once you have everything set up on the memory card then you don't need anything at all. Pretty neat trick for softmodding PS2s.
  13. I'll check in my old ram pile at work on Monday but that's a longshot, I have mostly dimm sticks. Here at home I have 1GB of unused ram that I pulled from my MacBook last year but I'm pretty sure that DDR2-666. I would have thought DDR-333 would be cheaper these days put I guess it also a low demand item, looks like it starts around $16 for 512mb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820161011
  14. I've done this new memory card loader and it works great. No PS1 disk needed. The best place to download any files, tutorials, and instructions is on this website: http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/ The exploit that needs to be installed onto a Sony 8mb memory card using something like Action Max Replay, Codebreaker, or a Swap magic disk, those cheat systems let you move things around from a usb memory stick to a ps2 memory card. You install the FreeMcboot on the card, do some configuration and then your ps2 is officially softmodded when it boots with the memory card inserted. Next to play homebrew or backups of your ps2 disks you have to install the ESR program again from a memory stick to the ps2 memory card, cool thing is now that you are softmodded you don't need any of the cheat CDs to read your usb stick. When you do a backup of your original ps2 game or if you have a .iso you have to patch the game with a esr patcher before it can run on the ps2, takes 1 second with a cross-platform java app. I think the ESR trick works because it patches dvds with headers that makes a ps2 with FreeMcboot think it's a DVD video and it will get around Sony's protections. Anyways it's been fun to play around with this exploit.
  15. If you're going to go the Mame route, I really think you should get him an authentic arcade controller. Sort of works like a 2600 joystick, one stick and no fancy extras needed for Qbert. Check out the X-Arcade stick. http://tinyurl.com/5st6xe
  16. Next you'll be telling me JoseQ's emuViews is coming back. EmuViews, Zophar's and I think Retrogames were always updated with fresh content around 2000 and I could spend all day on those sites, been awhile.
  17. Great trader and long-time forum guy, can't go wrong with that.
  18. That's a serious looking 410. I bet you could lose a finger if you weren't careful. Cool scans.
  19. Traded with Mitch one or two times. Dependable and friendly.
  20. Bought lots of 8bit stuff and even had an XE modded by Classics. Very dependable.
  21. Very good guy to deal with. And I always like to give lots of props to folks who like Dragster as much as I do
  22. I think I've posted my experience a few times already but I ordered a 2600 a/v mod board a few years back from 8bitdomain. Didn't hear anything for months, didn't answer emails until one day on the 4th or 5th email he responded that it would ship right away. Took a few weeks and another reminder but he did eventually send the board in good shape. Real shoddy customer service and almost always lonnnnnnnnng wait times. Seeing the same complaints over the years, he doesn't appear to be entirely dishonest but dang he must be the most unorganized or stoned guy in the business. I wouldn't think of recommending him as a seller or buying any more of his stuff although it does look interesting. He's probably one of the guys in the hobby that should create stuff for himself and a few friends but don't bother trying to sell it. He doesn't have the required skill set.
  23. My first guess was a 3DO controller but I think generic PC joystick makes more sense for a prop.
  24. I'm still on the fence about getting MLB08: The Show for my PS2. MVP 05 is also my favorite baseball game and I'm still having fun playing that and MLB Power Pros. I'll probably hold out another year or two and then pickup a PS3 with The Show because I eventually want to play GTA-IV too.
  25. Yeah, I'm playing it and liking it. Played a few pick-up games and some leagues but I haven't had the time to start up the Success/Season modes. You're right it's still very Japanese but I like it that way. Just picked up a PS2 last month and this was on my list of games to get right away. I've been playing the import Power Pro games for about 10 years now, mainly on the Saturn and Gameboy Color/Adv/DS.
